• Issue with UIImage files not being found on phone

  Note: Using Monotouch. I have a directory called Images where I have all my PNG files. In my code I have the following _imgMinusDark = UIImage.FromFile("images/MinusDark.png"); On the simulator it runs fine, on the phone it's null. I have the Images folder content (all the PNGs) in my MonoDevelop marked as Content in terms of Build Action. What am I missing? thanks

• Are there localization tools which spot content strings in xaml/wpf?

  When globalizing a wpf application with static resx classes, it's very easy to miss the odd label or button that has its Content property set to a hard coded string in a particular language, ie English. These should of course be moved off to a {x:Static ...} so they can be localised for each culture. Are there any tools which can spot this and warn you? Built in to VS would be ideal, but I'm thinking that 'style cop' type build tools would do the job as well.

  Given that SSE 4.2 (Intel Core i7 & i5 parts) includes a CRC32 instruction, it seems reasonable to investigate whether one could build a faster general-purpose hash function. According to this only 16 bits of a CRC32 are evenly distributed. So what other transformation would one apply to overcome that? David

Is there a way i can progressively write the workbook to the servlet output stream. That should reduce the response time , as well as make the process memory efficient.

I tried Configure Include Path - Project - Add ... but no file browser appears. I'm obviously misunderstanding this.

• Doctrine-CLI database creation issue.

  I have Doctrine setup in my Zend Framework application and I built my schema YAML file. But when I tell Doctrine to build the tables it says it does but it doesn't actually make them. It creates the models, and will create the DB but it will not populate the DB with the tables and throws no errors. Does anyone have a guess or know why this is not working? Thank you.

• how to deal with political differences that lead to dysfunctional development environment

  We have a few liberal programmers on our team who don't use source control, don't manage time effectively and always want to use our budget on useless tools/components that are expensive and things we can build ourselves.
