  • Finding web source of Drag&Drop with Qt

    I'm trying to implement a simple notebook in Qt. Microsoft OneNote allows text or an image from a website to be inserted by Drag&Drop with an attached link to the source that looks like this for the stackoverflow logo on the 'ask' page: Inserted from <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask. With the QT dropsite example, I examined all the information thats transported by the QMimeData object, but didn't find something really helpful. Do you know a way to do this in pure Qt or at least with not so much platform-dependant code?

    I've got a piece of tracking code which is capturing REMOTE_HOST, SERVER, REQUEST_METHOD, SCRIPT_NAME and QUERY_STRING. It grabs these from ServerVariables and sticks them in a database by user and IP. What is the best way to pick up the exact contents of what was posted back to a URL in ASP.NET? Is there an HTTP_POST? I'd rather not grab something and then have to parse it.

    I am requesting data from a service whose response in stored in a database.First, I have an empty table, whenever I make my very first request the records from the service comes to my database table. from now, whenever I make second request, the service will provide me some records which may be same as my first response, may be new records, may be updated records etc. my query is to how to update my table with respect to the responses coming from the service during my second request on-wards? so that Unchanged records will remain same, New records will be added, updated records will be updated.Do I need to write any stored procedure on my DB or any workaround ?what might be the scenario if I use Nomysql DB's like mongo DB ?     I know that in StructureMap I can read from my *.config files (or files referenced by them), when I want to pass specific arguments to an object's constructor. ForRequestedType<IConfiguration>() .TheDefault.Is.OfConcreteType<SqlServerConfiguration>() .WithCtorArg("db_server_address") .EqualToAppSetting("data.db_server_address") But what I would like to do is read from one config setting in debug mode and another in release mode. Sure I could surround the .EqualToAppSetting("data.db_server_address"), with #if DEBUG, but for some reason those statements make me cringe a little when I put them in. I'd like to know if there was some way to do this with the StructureMap library itself. So can I feed my objects different settings based on whether the project is built in debug or release mode?

    Hey, I am trying to parse xml file using Sax parser. let's say xml is like this.. I want to count the number of times b element is present (its variable) And i want this count before parsing, so that I can declare an array of appropriate size. One way is to run count then separately and other way is dynamic array (List Array) Is there any other better way to do this? Also, Is it possible to make an ArrayList of my class..? because I want an array of type myClass.

    Hello, I'm working on a ColdFusion dynamic website. For this website, there are a lot of CFCs and a lot of functions within each CFC. Would it be more efficient to store an instance of the CFC in an application variable, then to instance each CFC separately on each page load. For each page, at most 2 separate CFCs get called. I'm also interested in how performance will be effected when requests increase (Stress). Thanks!

  • AWS Load Balancer with a static IP address

    I have a set-up running on Amazon cloud with a couple of EC2 Instances running through a load balancer. It is important that the site has a unique(static) IP or set of IPs as I'm plugging in 3rd party APIs which only accept requests made from IPs which have been added to their whitelist. So basically unless we can give these 3rd parties a static IP or range of IPs that the requests from the site will always come from then we would be unable to make any calls to them. Anyone knows how to achieve this as I know that Elastic IPs are not compatible with load balancers? If I were to look up the IP of the load balancer DNS name (e.g. dualstack.awseb-BAMobile-ENV-xxxxxxxxx.eu-west-1.elb.amazonaws.com resolves to 200.200.200.200) would that IP be Static? Any help/advise is greatly appreciated guys.

What I want to do is to have a website with a simple search bar and allow people to type foo1 or just foo and finally return the gzipped file(s) and the explanation of the file(s).     I would like to allow users to call my ruby on rails app as a service which returns a 'div' with html content in it, and embed that div into their app (which will not be a rails application). For example, assume someone has their own php website that has a header/footer template that gets rendered, and a content area of the page that they need to fill based on some html I generate in my rails app. I would like to allow them, from php, to call to my website, get the 'div' I generate, and embed that as html in their php page. What I'm trying to do is host a service on my site that returns some html content, but actually show that content as part of another site, so that the end user only sees the other site and never really knows about mine. Is this possible?

    I'm trying to develop an app using Django 1.1 on Webfaction. I'd like to get the IP address of the incoming request, but when I use request.META['REMOTE_ADDR'] it returns 127.0.0.1. There seems to be a number of different ways of getting the address, such as using HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR or plugging in some middleware called SetRemoteAddrFromForwardedFor. Just wondering what the best approach was?

This article states that 73% of websites they tested rely on JavaScript for important functionality, but it seems to me that the number must be larger. Have any surveys been done on this topic? Maybe a better way to phrase this question is - are there any sites that don't use JavaScript? EDIT: By 'use', I don't necessarily mean "rely on for important functionality" - that was just the statistic that one article gave.
