• Having an issue with Onejar-Maven-Plugin

  I am trying to package a simple maven java project (uses javax.persistence api) into a single jar using the onejar-maven-plugin. I can run the program fine in eclipse; however when execute the onejar I get the exception below. If someone could provide some insight, that would be appreciated. • how to setup the sphinx with netbeans

  i have successfully configured sphinx4 with eclipse. for that these steps i have used. copy my java and config files to SRC folder all the necessary jar files (in the lib). the lib folder added to the root of the project build those jar files (jsapi files too) change the configuration file and give the proper path test the java file but in Netbeans i really dont understand how to do the proper steps. can someone help me. the jar files should be added to "Libraries" rite. then after adding them how to build them. in the netbeans it dont show a SRC folder. so all the java files and configuration files should go to Source Packages folder rite. can someone help me with this. please

  I am using Ruby on Rails 3 and I would like to make to work HTTPS connections on localhost. I am using: Apache v2 + Phusion Passenger Mac OS + Snow Leopard v10.6.6 My Ruby on Rails installation use the Typhoeus gem (it is possible to use the Ruby net\http library but the result doesn't change) to make HTTP requests over HTTPS. In my controller's rss action, my last command is : render(text: getFeed("rss_2.0"), contentType:"application/rss+xml", encoding:"ISO-8859-1 ") However, when I navigate to my feed's URL, the header is : <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <rss xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" version="2.0"> ... Does anyone have a clue about WHY the encoding is UTF-8 when I set it to ISO-8859-1 in the render method ??? Thanks for your help !

• Can't get Logback Eclipse plugin to display output

  I followed these instructions here: http://logback.qos.ch/consolePlugin.html I have the correct and found logback.xml, it is set up correctly, and the port is listening. Nothing shows up with logger.error("Test"); It logs to sysout fine when I remove logback.xml, which shows to me that the logback is working fine. I installed the plugin on linux by moving it to /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins ...The window shows up, but no logging events are showing up. I also added a catch all ACCEPT filter like on that link. Perhaps this is a linux permission issue?

• Android: SlidingDrawer disappears under SurfaceView

  Hi, I'm trying to create a SlidingDrawer with LinearLayout content over a FrameLayout. At first it all seems fine, I get my SlidingDrawer's handle at the bottom of the screen. But then, if I start dragging the handle up and the content starts showing, it gets clipped by the border rectangle of the handle. If I drag the handle all the way up the entire content eventually gets shown, however if I now drag the handle down, it will be clipped by the border rectangle of the content. Also, if the handle is all the way up, as soon as I start dragging it the whole content disappears. I can still click on where the handle should be on the screen, drag it and the content would show, but I need to guess where the handle is. What seems to be causing this is the fact that I have a SurfaceView in the xml file just before SlidingDrawer. Removing the view from the xml solves this problem, however I need this view.   I am trying to write our own RIA services provider to expose data from a server that I access via ODBC. I follow th eguidelines set out at http://blogs.msdn.com/alexj/archive/2010/03/02/creating-a-data-service-provider-part-9-un-typed.aspx I have written our own IDataServiceMetadataProvider / IDataServiceQueryProvider pair and get no errors on what i do.   If I am going to make serious changes to my project I like to make a copy (right click project and select copy). I have created copies of my projects many times (maven web applications included) without issue. Now all I do is copy the project making no changes, leaving the copy settings on default (project name etc) and then try to run it and spring decides to take issue with it. Again I try running the original and it works. I deleted the faulty copy, restarted and tried again and still it does not work. • JPA 2.0 Implementations comparison : Hibernate 3.5 vs EclipseLink 2 vs OpenJPA 2

  What's your choice? Do You have any suggestions and experience? I'm developing an application with Hibernate 3.5 and Spring 3.0 Pros: Good documentation Easy configuration and helpful logs Popularity - wide community Some extensions to JPA Some additional Tools - JBoss Tools for Eclipse, hbm2ddl, generating static metamodel etc... Cons: Bugs! (Sequences, collections etc...) Lots of reatures are doubled with "pure" Hibernate. There's a mess in legacy Hibernate and JPA annotations. I'm considering to switch to EclipseLink. What do You think ? Edit: I've tried EclipseLink and have very bad experiences. It seems like EclipseLink needs LoadTimeWeaver and likes to run on OSGi platform rather than simple Jetty or Tomcat environment. I just don't have time for all this configuration stuff.

• AD-Integrated DNS failure: "Access was Denied"

  I have a single Windows 2008 R2 server configured as a domain controller with Active Directory Domain Services and DNS Server. The DNS Server was recently uninstalled and reinstalled in an attempt to fix a (possibly unrelated) problem; the event log was previously flooded with errors (#4000, "The DNS Server was unable to open Active Directory...") which reinstalling did not fix. However, while before it was at least showing and resolving names from the local network (slowly), now it's showing nothing at all. (The original error started with a #4015 error "The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory," followed by a long string of #4000 and a few #4004. This may have been caused when a new DNS name was recently added, but I can't be sure of the timing.) Attempting to manage the DNS through Administrative Tools > DNS brings up an error: The server SERVERNAME could not be contacted. The error was: Access was denied. Would you like to add it anyway? Selecting yes just puts a SERVERNAME item on the list, but with all the configuration options grayed out. I attempted editing my hosts file as per this post but to no avail. Running dcdiag, it does identify the home server properly, but fails right away testing connectivity with: Starting test: Connectivity The host blahblahblahyaddayaddayadda could not be resolved to an IP address. Check the DNS server, DHCP, server name, etc. Got error while checking LDAP and RPC connectivity. Please check your firewall settings. ......................... SERVERNAME failed test Connectivity Adding the blahblahblahyaddayaddayadda address to hosts (pointing at 127.0.0.1), the connectivity test succeeded but it didn't seem to solve the fundamental problem (Access was denied) so I hashed it out again. Primary DNS server is properly pointing at 127.0.0.1 according to ipconfig /all. And the DNS server is forwarding requests to external addresses properly (if slowly), but the resolving of local network names is borked. The DNS database itself is small enough that I am (grudgingly) able to rebuild it if need be, but the DNS Server doesn't seem willing to let me work with (or around) it at all. (and yes before you ask there are no system backups available) Where do I go from here? • Dynamically populate an InfoPath DropownList with managed code

  I have an InfoPath form with custom C# code, and a Sharepoint list. I have a dropdownlist in the InfoPath form that I want to populate with a certain field from the Sharepoint list (I want the InfoPath dropdownlist to contain this field's value from every item in the Sharepoint list. I can successfully get the list of values I need from Sharepoint in my managed code, but I do not see how I can get these values into the dropdownlist (either bind to the list, or add each item in the list one by one). I thought I could modify the XML of the dropdownlist to insert my items, but the XML only contains the first item in the dropdownlist: <my:RelatedRiskID xmlns:my="http://schemas.microsoft.com/office/infopath/2003/myXSD/2009-07-20T18:12:59">Option 1</my:RelatedRiskID> I feel like this should be possible, but I can't find any resources on how to do it. • Can JAXB Incrementally Marshall An Object?

  I've got a fairly simple, but potentially large structure to serialize. Basically the structure of the XML will be: <simple_wrapper> <main_object_type> <sub_objects> </main_object_type> ... main_object_type repeats up to 5,000 times </simple_wrapper> The main_object_type can have a significant amount of data. On my first 3,500 record extract, I had to give the JVM way more memory than it should need. So, I'd like to write out to disk after each (or a bunch of) main_object_type. I know that setting Marshaller.JAXB_FRAGMENT would allow it fragments, but I loose the outer xml document tags and the <simple_wrapper>. Any suggestions?

  I've checked out Apple's Quick Look Programming Guide: Introduction to Quick Look page in the Mac Dev Center, but as a more of a science programmer rather than an Apple programmer, it is a little over my head (but I could get through it in a weekend if I bash my head against it long enough). Does anyone know of a good basic Quick Look Generators tutorial that is simple enough for someone with only very modest experience with Xcode? For those that are curious, I have a filetype called .evt that has an xml header and then binary info after the header. I'm trying to write a generator to display the xml header. There's no application bundle that it belongs to. Thanks!

  Hi everyone! I am trying to load external SWFs in my Adobe AIR App. The loaded SWF is trying to access an URL to retrieve some informations via XML. When starting the SWF by itself it works fine. When loading the SWF from the File.applicationStorageDirectory i will get an Security-Error because the loaded App is executed in a local-with-filesystem Sandbox appareantly. First Question: Is there a way to change this? That the loaded SWF is running in a network Sandbox? Since that first attempt didn't worked i've moved the SWF to the app:// directory. Now i'll get a Security-Error because there is no policy file on the Server available where the XML data should be retrieved. Second Question: Why is the policy file not necessary when running the SWF by itself, but is necessary when trying to load the data from the application Sandbox? What am i doing wrong?   We have a Oracle Date column. At first in our Java/Hibernate class we were using java.sql.Date. This worked but it didn't seem to store any time information in the database when we save so I changed the Java data type to Timestamp.
