I have a WSDL 1.1 file which describes my Web Service. Now I need get access to its methods using ASP.NET 3.5

I have 4 reasonably complex r scripts that are used to manipulate csv and xml files. These were created by another department where they work exclusively in r.
My understanding is that while r is very fast when dealing with data, it's not really optimised for file manipulation. Can I expect to get significant speed increases by converting these scripts to python? Or is this something of a waste of time?
I have tried both the .net FileUpload control and the ajax Asyncfileuploadcontrol to upload a file less than 500kb.
It seems that when I tried to go through my wireless router (att.bellsouth) that the uploads always fail, however when I plug my droid into my laptop and use my pda connection it works perfectly fine.
I'm wondering if the network connection from my house to my server could be causing this issue, and if anyone had any solutions to this problem. Tomorrow I'm going to try and upload from other networks and pray it works.

I have upload file functionality on one of the page. I check for the extension of the file using JavaScript. Now i want to restrict the user from uploading file greater than 1 MB. Is there any way i can check the file upload size using JavaScript.
My code currently look like this:
<script language="JavaScript">
function validate() {
var filename = document.getElementById("txtChooseFile").value;
var ext = getExt(filename);
if(ext == "txt" || ext == "csv")
return true;
alert("Please upload Text files only.");
return false;
}
function getExt(filename) {
var dot_pos = filename.lastIndexOf(".");
if(dot_pos == -1)
return "";
return filename.substr(dot_pos+1).toLowerCase();
}
</script>
In an ASP.NET environment, what's the best way to play a mp3 file? Do I need to use a flash plugin (some users may not have flash). Also, this needs to work on a IPhone or an IPod.
When i tried to connect to Apache Cassandra server using the php code i got an error "Fatal error: Call to undefined function uuid_make()". Given a compressed archive file such as application.tar.gz which has a folder application/x/y/z.jar among others, I'd like to be able to take my most recent version of z.jar and update/refresh the archive with it.
Is there a way to do this other than something like the following?
tar -xzf application.tar.gz
cp ~/myupdatedfolder/z.jar application/x/y
tar -czf application application.tar.gz
I understand the -u switch in tar may be of use to avoid having to untar the whole thing, but I'm unsure how to use it exactly.
The title says it all, how do I access properties (title, state,...) of instance variables from within a class method of an other implementation file? I tried @synthesize but I couldn't get it to work.
I have a smaller SSD that I'd like to use for my dev server. The SSD is smaller than the current OS partition. I'd like to reduce the size of the partition so that I can copy the image over to the SSD and run off of that.
I'm serving a file from Lighttpd whose name contains space-characters. I'm using mimetype "application/octet-stream"
When I download this in Chrome, it works perfectly. But when I download in Firefox, the filename is truncated at the first space.
Is this to do with the mimetype? With some other lightty config? Or maybe something to do with the kind of space-character I'm using?
I'm looking to allow users to upload an Excel or CSV file to MySQL for a contact management system. Need to be able to allow users to map their columns so that they are imported into the correct column in the table.
Anyone know of a good site or tutorial on this?
Hi,
I am wondering, if I create a new HttpRequest, and put the content of a simple file inside this request, would I be able to read the content on the server side by aspx page? in other words would that be equivalent to upload control?
Thanks!
byte[] binaryData = new Byte[pngStream.Length];
long bytesRead = pngStream.Read(binaryData, 0, (int)pngStream.Length);
string base64String = System.Convert.ToBase64String(binaryData,
0,
binaryData.Length);
I have a binary data in Byte array.
Does anybody know how to save this into any image file (png or jpg) in silverlight3 or c#?
Thanks
VS 2008 SP1 craching when I open an ASPX file on Windows XP
Has anyone experienced this before ?
VS does not give me any error messages. It simply shuts down very quickly.
Given file names like these:
/the/path/foo.txt
bar.txt
I hope to get
foo
bar
Why this doesn't work?
#!/bin/bash
fullfile=$1
fname=$(basename $fullfile)
fbname=${filename%.*}
echo $fbname
What's the right way to do it?

I have a BASE_DIR setting in my settings.py file:
BASE_DIR = os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath(__file__))
I need to use this variable in my logging.ini file to setup my file handler paths.
The initialization of logging happens in the same file, the settings.py file, below my BASE_DIR variable:
LOG_INIT_DONE=False
if not LOG_INIT_DONE:
logging.config.fileConfig(LOGGING_INI)
LOG_INIT_DONE=True
Thanks,
Pete
Hi
I am trying to deploy an application with two executable files one of which is the application it self.
I used the publish tub on the VS 2008 and tried to publish manually using the MageUI.exe.
in both cases I get the "Reference in the manifest does not match the identity of the downloaded assembly" error in regards to the second executable file.
Dose Any one know how to publish an application with two executable files?
Thanks,
Ahron
