    I use a GridView to display the records from the database. Also i've attached a Hyperlink to the GridView using TemplateField. When I try to add "onclick" attribute to the HyperLink inside the RowDateBound event, I get the following error.. GridView1.DataKeys[e.Row.RowIndex].Value = 'GridView1.DataKeys[e.Row.RowIndex]' threw an exception of type 'System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException' Message = "Index was out of range. I can now get it to open in a new window and get those form values. The problem is lnkBtn is repeated in a listview and each link has a different value or id associated with the link. How do I pass in the unique id to Page2.aspx and grab the hiddenField?

Is it wise to use this method, or is it better to always declare a new variable with a using statement (ie, using (MyDataAccessClass dataAccess = new MyDataAccessClass()) instead of using (_dataAccess = new MyDataAccessClass()))?

    I know how to generate html documentation using Sandcastle and similar tools. But if I want to host the project on Google code, how can I easily publish the documentation straight into the Google project Wiki pages? I can see the SVN repository has a wiki folder which I assume maps to the project Wiki pages and I guess I can make a build step to build the documentation from the autodoc tags. But is there some tool that generates wiki compatible format from the code documentation tags?

  • How do I play a video through .net in windows 7

    I had setup an app to play a video using the library suggested here this worked great for me for a long time until my machine was upgraded. In windows 7 I get the following exception that I'd never seen under XP: `System.BadImageFormatException: is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1) at MainApp.Controls.MediaControl.StopVideo() at System.Windows.Forms.Form.WmClose(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m) at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)` I've installed the June 2010 DirectX SDK and I'm still getting this error. Is there a different library I should be using or some setting that needs to be changed?

  • Stepping through ASP.NET MVC in Action (2009) - and stuck on nunit issue

    I seem to have missed something - in this step through it talks through downloading nunit and changing the original MSTest reference to NUnit. Which seems fine until it talks about running the test with UnitRun from JetBrains. I would have thought I could run nUnit to be able to run the test - but I load my project in the nUnit gui and I get "This assembly was not built with any known testing framework". This after running the Nunit-2.5.3.9346.msi. Or am I supposed to be able to run tests from within visual studio 2008? After some research I find this: http://www.jetbrains.com/unitrun/ (ie. it seems to be saying this is no longer supported and I'm thinking JetBrains Resharper may cost money?). I'm a little rusty on my NUnit experience. So how do I go ahead and run my test? Is the error message I'm getting considered abnormal? I've added a reference in my MvcApplication.Tests project to the nunit.framework. Is this the wrong reference to add? Thanks :)

    I'm using EO Ajax toolkits for upload files, the file is uploaded to server. when user click save then it will update the database for what been uploaded or changed. Now i need a clean up process that when user uploaded a file to server, but then close his/her browser before click the save button. in this case how should i programe so that the file user just uploaded is deleted, because it's now useless and not assosiated with any database. thanks. maybe i should upload all files to a temp folder, only when user click saver the file can be moved to target folder, at each session end the temp folder is get deleted.

    I'm writing some program which should perform calculations concurrently according to inputs which reach the system all the time. I'm considering 2 approaches to allocate "calculation" processes: Allocating processes in the system initialization, insert the ids to Processes table, and each time I want to perform calculation, I will check in the table which process is free. The questions: can I be sure that those processes are only for my use and that the operating system doesn't use them? Not allocating processes in advance. Each time when calculation should be done ask the operating system for free process. I need to know the following inputs from a "calculation" process: When calculation is finished and also if it succeeded or failed If a processes has failed I need to assign the calculation to another process Thanks in advance.     I am trying to learn TDD/BDD using NUnit and Moq. The design that I have been following passes a DataService class to my controller to provide access to repositories. I would like to Mock the DataService class to allow testing of the controllers. I still plan on publishing them, using click once, into the same location at the same time, and I would like to use the same config file. I have added the app.config to each project using the "Add link" option in Visual Studio, which is great for debugging, but in production, when I compile each exe project, the app.config is not copied into the "master project"'s bin folder. example: master.exe with master.exe.config master.exe may launch order.exe based on user settings master.exe may launch returns.exe based on user settings master, order, and returns will all reside in the same folder, and should share a single config file.

Repeating this code is not an option becasue it triggers SelectIndexChange event and had to do some crappy work around to avoid that. So I was wondering if there is way to refresh the combobox list. I actually thought binding with the DataSource property supposed to do it automatically. I also tried cbCountyList.Refresh() Thanks in advance.
