Can you sync mutiple iPods with the sames iTunes library? I would like to keep just music on my iPod nano, but have both music and videos on my iPod touch. Is this even possible?
Here are my MPM constraints:
StartServers 10
MinSpareServers 10
MaxSpareServers 10
MaxClients 10
MaxRequestsPerChild 2000
However despite this, I have over 20 apache processes running currently, and in the past hour or two there have been as many as 40-50. Shouldn't the MaxClient and MaxSpareServers keep the number of processes under control (i.e. about 10)?
Is there something I'm missing?
I am looking to use monit to keep an eye on my site. I want it to treat it the site like an external user so am testing the url but it doesn't seem to follow redirects. The content check is being performed on the html of the redirect.
#request works:
if failed url http://www.sharelatex.com/blog/posts/future.html content == "301"
#request fails
if failed url http://www.sharelatex.com/blog/posts/future.html content == "actual content"
Finding out how to get the url check to follow 30X would be great.
I want to keep a CSS file in my PC but want to link that file in website and whatever changes I will do in local file that changes should reflect in site.
I'm not logged in as Admin in my PC. Is it possible?
I need any online/offline method Compatible with Windows XP 32 bit
What should I do about this user? The user is:
Downloading pornography
Attempting unauthorized access
Running hacking software
Sending unsolicited email
Installing software / tampering with the system

I could see where acceptable use issues are a touch out of scope for SF, however it is one of those things most sysadmins will run into. I don't want to keep rewriting similar answers.
Changing hard disk with ssd, can I migrate contents so that I can switch drives without a hassle?
For instance, keep my Windows configuration and installed programs and documents
I'd like to use screen to keep ssh sessions alive on my server. It would be nice if I could automatically resume any running session for my user when I log in. The straightforward way to do this would be adding "screen -r" to my .bashrc, and this seems to work fine. I'm just wondering if this will break anything under conditions which I haven't tested yet. Anyone with experience here who can tell me whether this is what I should do?
I've got a bunch of physical switches and circuits that act like switches (they're either connected to ground or they're just an open wire). Is there some sort of thing I can plug into my computer (ideally, via USB) that has a bunch of screw terminals, and I can attach wires to the screws and have the computer keep track of which circuits are closed and which are open?
Bonus points if the device also lets the computer open and close switches, too.
I don't even know what to google for.
Specifically, I'm interested in knowing what tools you keep loaded on your thumb drive when asked to deal with a family member or friend's personal computer issue? Off the top of my head, I can think of things like:
AVG
Advanced WindowsCare
SpyBot
etc.
...but this question is not necessarily limited to virus/malware/spyware issues.
Seems to happen when I log off or on, and during some OS reconfigurations. Any idea how to stay in Exclusive mode? I use the exclusive mode as a (very low) security measure to keep guests on a specific VM without their knowledge. Won't help if the Workstation randomly appears.
I'm using iPhoto '09 and have an 80GB library. I want to back everything up to DVDs, because I figure that's the cheapest / most reliable solution. (I plan to have a couple of copies and keep them in different places.)
Ideally, after the initial backup, every couple of months, I'd back up everything that's changed (new photos, edits, metadata) to single DVD and add it to the set.
How would you go about doing that?
How would I redirect all of the traffic from http://mysite.com/blog to a different server running at http://blog.mysite.com???
I want to do a 301 permanent redirect from http://blog.mysite.com to http://mysite.com/blog, but I want to keep the blog server running on http://blog.mysite.com, but I want it to appear to the user that they are viewing http://mysite.com/blog.
Hi,
I would like to save a pdf file with filled out interactive form. In evince or acrobat reader, "Print to file" can create another pdf file but the form is not editable any more. Is there some way to save the edit and keep the form interactive for later editing?
Thanks and regards!
We have uploaded and transferred the mp3 files on centova cast successfully with Filezilla.
We know how to update the media library
We know how to create playlists
We know how to drag the songs into different playlists
We know how to save the media or the playlists
BUT, we are losing all the media library saved files (songs) the moment we get new files in media library.
However we want to keep the media library and playlist saved.
I am setting up a server and want to keepit outside of my local network which is inside of the Dlink 655 router. I originally bought the dlink router mainly because it is fast, much faster than any other consumer router I have tried. The only router which is capable of real 10MB/s d download speed.
I need a switch which will not cause a bottle neck to the router. The switch will connect the to the server and the dlink router.
Right now I'm forced to read all the tweets in a single client on a single device (TweetDeck on my Android phone).
If I would switch to another device and/or client, I would need to search for the last unread tweet, which is sometimes complicated (too many tweets).
So, the question:
Is there a client who can keep the status (read/unread) on tweets across multiple devices? My target systems would be now Android and MS Windows, but also Linux might be handy.
I have extended a webapplication and set its zone to Intranet but now we decided to make that site anonymous I made all the settings in authentication provider and site collection settings but its still showing its zone as Intranet . I read that its best practice to keep Internet as the zone for anonymous access..
How can I change it now and does it affect leaving it as Intranet?
I have multiple computers, some have a 10/100 ethernet adapter while others have a 10/100/1000 ones. If I connect them together with the Cisco sg100-08 switch, do I keep the 1Gbit speed where possible (between two devices at 1Gbit speed) or the whole lan slows down to 100mbit? I checked Cisco website but I couldn't find this kind of information, nor I was able to register to the Cisco support to ask this question (the registration form does not work)
I love using Dropbox to sync files between all my machines, and I've heard it uses rsync internally to keep files synced.
Sometimes I need to sync very large things, and I don't necessarily want to pay for storage space on someone else's server when I have my own. So does anyone know of any nice cross-platform (pref. open source) automatic file-sync applications out there for this?
I have an Excel sheet that I'm using to keep track of the status of certain things.
I want to have a column which consists of cells containing a repeated drop down that allows you to select (as background)
red
amber
green
unknown
I don't want any text in this cell, I just want a coloured block.
Is this possible?
I've tried playing around with data-validation-list (based on range containing all of said colours but to no avail)
Hi All,
I am in a hotel, where the internet connection has to be refreshed every hour. So after every hour a web page comes up and I have to click on a continue button and then continue to surf.
How can i automate this refreshing, because I keep things for download and they stop after one hour.
Any program / tool that can help me do this?

I'm having trouble with LDAP authentication in Apache 2.2. Here's the excerpt from httpd.conf
<Location /folder>
AuthType Basic
AuthName "Project"
AuthBasicProvider ldap
AuthLDAPBindDN "user@domain"
AuthLDAPBindPassword "my_password"
AuthLDAPURL "ldap://my_domain_controller/?samAccountName?sub?(objectClass=user)"
Require valid-user
</Location>
I keep getting "ldap_search_ext_s() for user failed" in error.log. I tried using my quoted DN as AuthLDAPBindDN but results were the same. What could be the problem?
Hello
All of the question I would like to ask is pretty much contained in the title...
I have a couple Truecrypt-encrypted folders on OS X, where I keep some .tex documents I edit in TeXShop, and the question is: does TexShop 'bleed' information? Does it store temporary files anywhere else on the system? Filenames, filecontents etc.
Cheers!
Hi guys,
I'm currently running a Vista machine, but would like to switch over to Linux, Ubuntu in particular. My question is can I switch over to Ubuntu, keep my Windows partition and use VirtualBox to access the pre-existing Windows partition? Or does VirtualBox require me to create a new install for Guest operating systems?
If not, are there any other free alternatives to accomplish this?
Thanks
