  • Open Source ASP.NET Contact Management Application?

    - by davemackey
    I'm considering building a Church Management System (ChMS), essentially a CRM, but specifically tailored for churches. I've looked at several existing CRM and open source ChMS solutions but have not been satisfied with any of them. Before I start writing something from the ground up - I was wondering if anyone was aware of an open source asp.net application that might be a good fit for this project? Particularly, the application needs to perform CRUD and optimally allow for dynamic user-based creation/editing of fields associated with contacts etc.

  • Website url whitelists

    - by buggedcom
    I'm building a user content parser and am adding an automatic link parser. I'm adding a dialogue, that confirms that the user wants to go to the particular site being linked to. This is for two reasons. Anti phishing and spam combating. However I want to be able to disable both the dialogue and nofollow additions with commonly used websites, so I'm building a whitelist. Are there any common whitelists about or should I start building one from scratch?

  • Find Line Above or Below in Javascript

    - by Dark Falcon
    I am working on an in-place HTML editor, concentrating on Firefox only right now. I have an element inserted where the cursor should be and also have left and right arrows working, but I can't seem to find a way to find: Start and end of a line for the home and end keys The next line up or down for the up/down arrows. I see document.elementFromPoint, but this doesn't get me a Range object. The Range object itself seems rather useless when it comes to using pixel positions.

  • Sql Profiler Scan Started to execute a stored procedure

    - by Lieven Cardoen
    Does SqlServer has to start a Scan to execute a stored procedure? In Sql Profiler I can see this: RPC Starting ( exec sp_Edu3_SelectExamSession @ExamSessionId=N'AccessCode39361814' ) Scan:Started Scan:Started Scan:Started RPC Completed ( exec sp_Edu3_SelectExamSession @ExamSessionId=N'AccessCode39361814' ) Can I somehow see what's happening in the Stored Procedure? Different queries are done in that SP, but they do not seem to appear in Sql Profiler (maybe I need to check some more events?) The Scan:Started are probably scans by the queries in the sp? Or not?

  • Android (Milestone/Droid): View.OnKeyListener not working correctly?

    - by Ice09
    I am using a simple EditText and register an View.OnKeyListener. Some GUI changes should happen (fading in/out of views) when certain conditions for the EditView text apply. In the emulator, this works as expected. On the Motorola Droid/Milestone, the listener does not work, only after pressing DEL, the listener is called the first time and always afterwards when activating the number input, the listener works correctly Note: I deactivated the suggestions with TYPE_TEXT_FLAG_NO_SUGGESTIONS and used the IME action IME_ACTION_GO to have a workaround for this (otherwise the user could not "start" a request).

  • UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum showing memory leak with iPhone connected to Instruments

    - by user168739
    Hi, I'm using version 3.0.1 of the SDK. With the iPhone connected to Instruments I'm getting a memory leak when I call UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum. Below is my code: NSString *gnTmpStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d", count]; UIImage *ganTmpImage = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:gnTmpStr ofType:@"jpg"]]; // Request to save the image to camera roll UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum(ganTmpImage, self, @selector(imageSavedToPhotosAlbum:didFinishSavingWithError:contextInfo:), nil); and the selector method - (void)imageSavedToPhotosAlbum:(UIImage *)image didFinishSavingWithError:(NSError *)error contextInfo:(void *)contextInfo { NSString *message; NSString *title; if (!error) { title = @"Wallpaper"; message = @"Wallpaper Saved"; } else { title = @"Error"; message = [error description]; } UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:title message:message delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" otherButtonTitles:nil]; [alert show]; [alert release]; } Am I forgetting to release something once the image has been saved and the selector method imageSavedToPhotosAlbum is called? Or is there a possible known issue with UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum? Here is the stack trace from Instruments: Leaked Object: GeneralBlock-3584 size: 3.50 KB 30 MyApp start 29 MyApp main /Users/user/Desktop/MyApp/main.m:14 28 UIKit UIApplicationMain 27 UIKit -[UIApplication _run] 26 GraphicsServices GSEventRunModal 25 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunInMode 24 CoreFoundation CFRunLoopRunSpecific 23 GraphicsServices PurpleEventCallback 22 UIKit _UIApplicationHandleEvent 21 UIKit -[UIApplication sendEvent:] 20 UIKit -[UIWindow sendEvent:] 19 UIKit -[UIWindow _sendTouchesForEvent:] 18 UIKit -[UIControl touchesEnded:withEvent:] 17 UIKit -[UIControl(Internal) _sendActionsForEvents:withEvent:] 16 UIKit -[UIControl sendAction:to:forEvent:] 15 UIKit -[UIApplication sendAction:toTarget:fromSender:forEvent:] 14 UIKit -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] 13 CoreFoundation -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:withObject:] 12 UIKit -[UIBarButtonItem(Internal) _sendAction:withEvent:] 11 UIKit -[UIApplication sendAction:to:from:forEvent:] 10 CoreFoundation -[NSObject performSelector:withObject:withObject:] 9 MyApp -[FlipsideViewController svPhoto] /Users/user/Desktop/MyApp/Classes/FlipsideViewController.m:218 8 0x317fa528 7 0x317e3628 6 0x317e3730 5 0x317edda4 4 0x3180fc74 3 Foundation +[NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:toTarget:withObject:] 2 Foundation -[NSThread start] 1 libSystem.B.dylib pthread_create 0 libSystem.B.dylib malloc I did a test with a new project and only added this code below in the viewDidLoad: NSString *gnTmpStr = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"DefaultTest"]; UIImage *ganTmpImage = [UIImage imageWithContentsOfFile:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:gnTmpStr ofType:@"png"]]; // Request to save the image to camera roll UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum(ganTmpImage, nil, nil, nil); The same leak shows up right after the app loads Thank you for the help. • Why the proliferation of open source licenses?

    - by dwj
    Is the proliferation of open source licenses just another example of programmers living NYI (Not Invented Here) syndrome? I know there are some big differences between some of the big licenses (e.g., GPL, Apache, BSD) but when you start looking to see many projects creating their own licenses. Why? • Automatically generating better views for ASP.NET MVC

    - by Casebash
    I am currently watching the 80 minute ASP.NET MVC introduction. Automatically generating views from a model is pretty neat, but it seems to me that that the automatically generated views could be much better. For a start, instead of inputing dates with text boxes, there could be a date control. Additionally, number inputs could be verified client side. There are probably other improvements that could be made as well. Is it possible to automatically generate better views?

  • Unable to run native C++ application on different machine

    Hi, I wrote a simple 'Hello, world' application in C++ using Visual Studio 2008. I am able to run the app successfully on my local machine. BUt when I copy the exe onto another machine and run, it does not run. It gives the error that 'Application has failed to start because application configuration is incorrect'. The another system does not have Visual Studio installed. What could be the problem? Thanks, Rakesh.

  • Launch app with URL

    - by Carlos Portes
    Hello everyone! I've read about intents in android but here goes my question. I'd like to launch an app on my android phone with the click of a link in the web browser. Example: If the link is "mycam://http://camcorder.com", "mycam://" acts as some kind of "tag" to launch my app but I'd like to pass "http://camcorder.com" as a string to that app on start. Help please! Thanks!

  • How to create an "endless" scrolling slideshow?

    - by Andrew
    I know a good bit of JS and I'm familiar with jQuery, and I'm trying to create an "endless" slideshow (like the one on http://thisismedium.com/), where the images scroll -- one right behind the other -- and when it reaches the end it loops. I don't really know how to start, so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I created a slideshow before that automatically switched images and let you click Next and Previous, but I'm stuck here. =/.

  • Classifying captured data in unknown format?

    - by monch1962
    I've got a large set of captured data (potentially hundreds of thousands of records), and I need to be able to break it down so I can both classify it and also produce "typical" data myself. Let me explain further... If I have the following strings of data: 132T339G1P112S 164T897F5A498S 144T989B9B223T 155T928X9Z554T ... you might start to infer the following: possibly all strings are 14 characters long the 4th, 8th, 10th and 14th characters may always be alphas, while the rest are numeric the first character may always be a '1' the 4th character may always be the letter 'T' the 14th character may be limited to only being 'S' or 'T' and so on... As you get more and more samples of real data, some of these "rules" might disappear; if you see a 15 character long string, then you have evidence that the 1st "rule" is incorrect. However, given a sufficiently large sample of strings that are exactly 14 characters long, you can start to assume that "all strings are 14 characters long" and assign a numeric figure to your degree of confidence (with an appropriate set of assumptions around the fact that you're seeing a suitably random set of all possible captured data). As you can probably tell, a human can do a lot of this classification by eye, but I'm not aware of libraries or algorithms that would allow a computer to do it. Given a set of captured data (significantly more complex than the above...), are there libraries that I can apply in my code to do this sort of classification for me, that will identify "rules" with a given degree of confidence? As a next step, I need to be able to take those rules, and use them to create my own data that conforms to these rules. I assume this is a significantly easier step than the classification, but I've never had to perform a task like this before so I'm really not sure how complex it is. At a guess, Python or Java (or possibly Perl or R) are possibly the "common" languages most likely to have these sorts of libraries, and maybe some of the bioinformatic libraries do this sort of thing. I really don't care which language I have to use; I need to solve the problem in whatever way I can. Any sort of pointer to information would be very useful. As you can probably tell, I'm struggling to describe this problem clearly, and there may be a set of appropriate keywords I can plug into Google that will point me towards the solution. Thanks in advance

  • wamp server not working? or bad php code

    - by lclaud
    I have this PHP code: <?php $username="root"; $password="******";// censored out $database="bazadedate"; mysql_connect("127.0.0.1",$username,$password); // i get unknown constant localhost if used instead of the loopback ip @mysql_select_db($database) or die( "Unable to select database"); $query="SELECT * FROM backup"; $result=mysql_query($query); $num=mysql_numrows($result); $i=0; $raspuns=""; while ($i < $num) { $data=mysql_result($result,$i,"data"); $suma=mysql_result($result,$i,"suma"); $cv=mysql_result($result,$i,"cv"); $det=mysql_result($result,$i,"detaliu"); $raspuns = $raspuns."#".$data."#".$suma."#".$cv."#".$det."@"; $i++; } echo "<b> $raspuns </b>"; mysql_close(); ?> And it should return a single string containing all data from the table.   • C# problem with two threads and hardware access

    - by mack369
    I'm creating an application which communicates with the device via FT2232H USB/RS232 converter. For communication I'm using FTD2XX_NET.dll library from FTDI website. I'm using two threads: first thread continuously reads data from the device the second thread is the main thread of the Windows Form Application I've got a problem when I'm trying to write any data to the device while the receiver's thread is running. The main thread simply hangs up on ftdiDevice.Write function. I tried to synchronize both threads so that only one thread can use Read/Write function at the same time, but it didn't help. Below code responsible for the communication. Note that following functions are methods of FtdiPort class. Receiver's thread private void receiverLoop() { if (this.DataReceivedHandler == null) { throw new BackendException("dataReceived delegate is not set"); } FTDI.FT_STATUS ftStatus = FTDI.FT_STATUS.FT_OK; byte[] readBytes = new byte[this.ReadBufferSize]; while (true) { lock (FtdiPort.threadLocker) { UInt32 numBytesRead = 0; ftStatus = ftdiDevice.Read(readBytes, this.ReadBufferSize, ref numBytesRead); if (ftStatus == FTDI.FT_STATUS.FT_OK) { this.DataReceivedHandler(readBytes, numBytesRead); } else { Trace.WriteLine(String.Format("Couldn't read data from ftdi: status {0}", ftStatus)); Thread.Sleep(10); } } Thread.Sleep(this.RXThreadDelay); } } Write function called from main thread public void Write(byte[] data, int length) { if (this.IsOpened) { uint i = 0; lock (FtdiPort.threadLocker) { this.ftdiDevice.Write(data, length, ref i); } Thread.Sleep(1); if (i != (int)length) { throw new BackendException("Couldnt send all data"); } } else { throw new BackendException("Port is closed"); } } Object used to synchronize two threads static Object threadLocker = new Object(); Method that starts the receiver's thread private void startReceiver() { if (this.DataReceivedHandler == null) { return; } if (this.IsOpened == false) { throw new BackendException("Trying to start listening for raw data while disconnected"); } this.receiverThread = new Thread(this.receiverLoop); //this.receiverThread.Name = "protocolListener"; this.receiverThread.IsBackground = true; this.receiverThread.Start(); } The ftdiDevice.Write function doesn't hang up if I comment following line: ftStatus = ftdiDevice.Read(readBytes, this.ReadBufferSize, ref numBytesRead);
