I'm coding a function in jquery that executes if ctrl+R is pressed but I can't seem to find out what the left and right ctrl keycodes are....can someone please help?
I have been writing my first jQuery plugin and struggling to find a means to time how long different pieces of code take to run.
I can use firebug and console.time/profile. However, it seems that because my code executes so fast I get no results with profile and with time it spits out 0ms. (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2690697/firebug-profiling-issue-no-activity-to-profile/2690846#2690846)
Is there a way to get the time at a greater level of detail that milliseconds in javascript?
I'd like to change language labels used in TinyMCE. E.g. "Überschrift 2" - "Überschrift".
Im using the jQuery plugins version of TinyMCE.
Is there a way to overwrite those labels without editing the label files?
I've managed to write some jQuery to find an element and copy it's html to the clipboard (ie only).
The problem is that when I paste this into a rich text box area in sharepoint it pastes the HTML as text only.
How do i replicate the user action of highlighting a link on a page and pressing copy. When I do this manually and then paste the clipboard contents the rich text area realises that it is markup and replicates the link as an anchor in the text content.
Is it possible to rotate text from a horizontal position to a vertical on a single point without using something like flash? So I would read the same text normally by tilting my head.
I was thinking you can do this in jquery but couldn't find a plug in.
Hello guys, I'm trying to put some style in the input=file aka uploader and I'm having a hard time with it, is there some NON FLASH solution (maybe jquery or even plain javascript)?
I can't seem to set cookies from the jquery.cookies plugin when running on nginx. My configuration is pretty standard, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.
I'm new to nginx, so take it easy on me :)
This was added to the page later with jQuery:
<input name="pdfRadio" id="pdfRadioNo0" value="0" type="radio">
This code:
radio_id = "pdfRadioNo0"
ie.radio(:id, radio_id).set()
does not set it but returns an error message:
Watir::Exception::UnknownObjectException: Unable to locate element, using {:id=>"pdfRadioNo0"}
Does watir also find radio butons that were added later?
This is windows 32bit XP SP 3 , IE 7, watir 1.6.5, ruby 1.8.6

have an array of values [1,2,4] representing the values of a multi-select box, how do i set them as selected using either jquery or plain javascript?

I have json data being returned as a collection:
var foo = ["6", "7", "33"]
using JSONP in jQuery. Since I'm using JSONP, the data is being returned to a callback function, which is interpreting it as a string instead of a collection. Do I need to run eval(foo) on the string in the callback before handling it as a collection, or is there some other means of recasting it?
How to give sentence case to sentences through CSS or javascript?
I've tried these CSS properties but these are different
capitalize Transforms the first character of each word to uppercase
uppercase Transforms all characters to uppercase
lowercase Transforms all characters to lowercase
Edit: 19 FEB 2010
is there any option in jquery to achieve this?
I'm developing an application with javascript. What I need is to have divs with id's (1,2,3...) and be able to insert a div between, for example, 2 and 3, with jquery, and then have that be the new three, and three becomes four, four becomes five, etc. I've got the div insertion working, I just need to know how to reorder the divs. Any ideas?
I am using jquery to determine the width of the control:-
$("#div1").width();
There is a difference in width of the div between IE8 (in compatibility view) and Firefox. Width is not same.
e.g
ie : 1887
FF : 1898
How to tackle it?
Total JacaScript n00b question right here:
I've made this snippet that clicks a link after 10th second:
function timeout() {
window.setTimeout(function() {
$('img.left').click();
}, 1000);
setTimeout("timeout()", 1000);
}
timeout();
My question is, how do I execute this function every 10th second, instead of just once?
Is this the best way to do this, or is there some kind of nifty jQuery method that you prefer?
I'm using expandable plugin by Brandon Aaron to auto grow my textareas in the form and it is working ok.
the problem is that I'm loading a lot of pages through ajax so I need to rebind the plugin method to the textareas loaded through ajax.
is there a way to do this kind of method calls like
$("textarea").expandable();
through live() or delegate() in jQuery. it'll make my code much cleaner.
Hey all,
I have a repeater that's bound to a SQL Data Source (using ASP.NET). Are there any JQuery plugins/efficient way of converting my repeater into something that can be sorted via drag and drop? i.e. users can rearrange the order of the data, which updates the database?
Thanks
Hi all,
Let's say my background color is red.
I want the input textfield to appear red, but when you click inside the input field to type it becomes a regulad textfield. And ofcourse when you are not active in the input field it should be back to its original state (red).
Its actually something you see quite often.
I thought of using toggleclass?
My input fields are all appended with jQuery
Thanks in advance
Regular expressions and I aren't quite good friends.
So here's the really basic operation i'm trying to do using javascript (jQuery framwork that is).
My calculation function return a number, unformated, and i'd like to separate thousands and hundreds by a white space ' '.
I'm sure it's pretty easy for a regexp regular user... but for me...
Thanks for the help.
I have big element at the top of the webpage that sides down with jQuery when a button is clicked. However, if the first post on the blog is a flash video, it shows up on top of the menu. Z-index doesn't help in this instance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.
Using Javascript, Jquery preferably, I want to be able to trigger the visiblity of the div when a user is at a certain page height. NYtimes has an example of this when you scroll to the bottom of a story, a slider pops out with another news story, and goes away if you scroll up.
Hi,
with jquery, or with simple just javascript, I want to populate a 2nd dropdown from the choice of the first dropdown.
The value of the first dropdown is the condition to get rows for the second dropdown.
How does the onChange event look like?
Is there a way to prevent the user from selecting a file that is not a specified file type when they browser for the file on their computer? For example, when a user browseses to upload an image file I would for them to only see images (jpg, png, ect.) that are less than 20mb. Is this something that can be accomplished with asp.net mvc and jquery or do I need to use flash or a java applet?
I want to create a wizard that includes a few steps, that in the final steps
we need to include all the steps and save to the data base.
What is the best design to do this ?
Is there an implementation for jquery ?
Do I need to save the steps in session till the final save ?
Hey guys. If you haven't already seen, Google has the ability to add a custom background image (for better or worse) and I was wondering how to achieve the same fade-in-on-load effect using jQuery.
Any ideas?
