  • Monitor Web Browsing Habits of Networked Users

    I've been tasked with generating dynamic, real-time (or as close to real-time as possible) reports on the web browsing habits of my users. Basically we need a way of charting the amount of time user X spends on website Y. The last stop on our network is a FreeBSD box that is currently generating netflow data. I've reviewed some netflow analyzers but none seem to meet our needs. Any tools or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

  • Multi mouse, keyboard and monitors

    I've got a USB hub with 4 ports, and I've plugged 2 usb keyboards and 2 usb mouses. They work very fine. I've setup'ed 2 monitors too, so I was thinking about the possibility of the mouse and keyboards works independent one of another. I want two mouse pointers (I think each with different colors) and 2 keyboard cursors. I think it a nice idea, but I don't know if this is possible... :( PS: My OS is Windows7

  • Best password practices?

    for sensitive data, would it be better to have a somewhat long, but memorable password (and hence not totally random) or use a program like keepass to make a super long, random password with the highest possible entropy, and then just write down the password on a piece of paper kept in ones pocket. If that bang on the door comes, then swallow the paper. Which is a better security practice? I'm not in any way a criminal, i just am curious about topics concerning security. Thanks.

    Is it possible to set up a Cisco 7941 phone to dial 9 before the redial number? When I view missed calls, and try to redial one of the numbers, it always fails because it doesn't dial 9 first. I have to write the number down and then manually dial the 9 and then the number.

  • vSphere 5.5 role permissions for viewing tags and tag assignments

    I have a role assigned to me in vSphere and this role doesn't allow me to see any vmware tags but i know that tags are being used and are assigned to VMs. In my personal lab, i'm able to reproduce this error but i'm having difficulty figuring out which permissions I need in order to query for tags and tag assignments. Ideally, I'd like to not have the set/remove tag permissions. Is this possible? thanks.

    We're trying to clean up one of our systems as much as possible & have found that despite our attempts to block, users are accessing a certain part of our system through a HTTP GET with their password in the URL. This results in our Apache logs recording their password in plain text on the server. Is there an Apache directive or module that can filter out (or replace) certain patterns in its logs?

    Possible Duplicate: Find out what the motherboard on my computer is I need to find the model of my motherboard so I can find what soundcard/chip it uses so I can get some drivers for it. Now I have a software whose extension is .ipa I am looking for a way to run this file either on Windows or on Linux. There exists Wine which can run .exe files on Linux, similarly is there something which can run .ipa either on linux or windows?? I am also comfortable with getting into virtualization and emulation to get the software work!

I was wondering if it was possible to write some .htaccess page that makes the server use an index.php file in a SINGLE directory as the index file for every directory/sub-directory on my server, rather than placing the exact same index.php in 200+ directories. If my description isn't clear, what I essentially mean is: /files/index.php is to be used as the index for, for example, /files/morefiles, as well as the index for all directories and sub-directories within /files/, even though those directories would not have an index file themselves.   • Firefox: fast dictionary language switching

    I have two language dictionaries installed on Firefox 3.6, and I would like to be able to switch really fast between them, using the keyboard. At the moment the only way I know I can switch is right clicking in a text input field, go into Language, and then click the language. I would instead to be able to switch between those two just hitting two keys at most, if possible just one (something like F13). Searching for addons I've found tons of extensions somewhat related but that don't actually do what I want.
