• $.each() iterating over characters in a string - do I need to eval()?

  I have json data being returned as a collection: var foo = ["6", "7", "33"] using JSONP in jQuery. Since I'm using JSONP, the data is being returned to a callback function, which is interpreting it as a string instead of a collection. Do I need to run eval(foo) on the string in the callback before handling it as a collection, or is there some other means of recasting it?

I have methods that return a value when passed an an object as parameter, such as: <%= average_rainfall(@location) % I'd like to use the exact same methods as a nested resource to call via jQuery/Ajax, like so: .load('/location/8/average_rainfall') I understand how to define the route, but how do I tell my method to 'find' /location/8 and use that as it's parameter instead of @location as expected? When I render the normal html I can use something like the Spanish lowercase e, &#233, and it renders as expected. When I pass the same text as a string to my Handlebars template I just see the characters &#233. I have tried creating a Handlebars helper that used jquery to render the text using .html() then returning the .html() of the tmp element and I get the same results.
