• PHP form processing - how to capture text from field that has variable Name/ID

  I have a form that has a field pulled from the database as a dropdown. I need to get the text selected in the dropdown but I don't know in advance what the field ID will be. This is basically just a form that has already been generated. I don't need to pull anything from the database, it's already on this page. All I need to do is get the form information and email it, no writing to the database. I know how to do the _Request for the other fields based on the ID but I'm not sure how to do this one. The ID changes. It can be ID=1, ID-2, etc. I need to do something like: _REQUEST form element where ID is LIKE "ID[*]" or something similar. Any suggestions or links to tutorials? • Express highest floating point quantity that is less than 1

  I was doing some rounding calculations and happened upon a question. How can I express the highest quantity less than 1 for a given floating point type? That is, how I write/represent value x such that x < 1, x + y >= 1 for any y > 0. In fractions this would be x = (q-1)/q where q is the precision of the type. For example, if you are counting in 1/999 increments then x = 998/999. For a given type (float, double, long double), how could one express the value x in code? I also wonder if such a value actually exists for all values of y. That is, as y's exponent gets smaller perhaps the relation doesn't hold anymore. So an answer with some range restriction on y is also acceptable. (The value of x I want still does exist, the relationship may just not properly express it.)

• Can arbitrary email addresses be stored in AD userPrincipalName?

  I have a web app that is front-ended by ISA, natively authenticating against AD. All users currently log on with sAMAccountName. I would like to allow users to provide a personal email address and be able to authenticate against this instead. From what I understand the AD userPrincipalName is typically used for an internally generated logon name, which by convention, is often their internally generated email address. The web app that I have is web scale (circa 3 million accounts*) and not an internal, corporate app, so the email addresses will be from diverse domains. Can I just set the AD userPrincipalName attribute to the user's email address, and then will ISA natively authenticate against this attribute instead? I heard rumours of AD having a maximum number of domain suffixes that it allows in AD userPrincipalName...? (presumably it catalogues them). [*I realise that AD is not the ideal authentication directory for a user population of this scale.]

  Hi, I currently have an array, created from a database, an example of which looks like the following: Array( [0] => Array ( objectid => 2, name => title, value => apple ), [1] => Array ( objectid => 2, name => colour, value => red ), [2] => Array ( objectid => 3, name => title, value => pear ), [3] => Array ( objectid => 3, name => colour, value => green ) ) What I would like to do is group all the items in the array by their objectid, and convert the 'name' values into keys and 'value' values into values of an associative array....like below: Array ( [0] => Array ( objectid => 2, title => apple, colour => red ), [1] => Array ( objectid => 3, title => pear, colour => green ) ) I've tried a few things but haven't really got anywhere.. • HTML Form input textbox not accepting special characters

  Hello, There seems to be a problem, where i can't display the complete value in a html form text input box. When I echo $ title, I get output as "Stacey's Mom" This is the html code I used to show the value. -- This returns the value in textbox as "Stacey". Samething happens when "," or "'" or "/" occurs in the text. How can I show the entire text in the textbox. Help would be much appreciated.

• Still failing a function, not sure why...ideas on test cases to run?

  I've been trying to get this Sudoku game working, and I am still failing some of the individual functions. All together the game works, but when I run it through an "autograder", some test cases fail.. Currently I am stuck on the following function, placeValue, failing. I do have the output that I get vs. what the correct one should be, but am confused..what is something going on? EDIT: I do not know what input/calls they make to the function. What happens is that "invalid row" is outputted after every placeValue call, and I can't trace why..   I'm using some CLR objects that use the INotifyPropertyChanged interface and use the PropertyChanged function to update in WPF bindings. Is it possible "invalidate" the whole object, especially if there are a lot of derived values? I think it would be kind of lame to fire 100 PropertyChanged events.

  Okay, so I'm trying to set cookies using Ruby. I'm in a Rack environment. response[name]=value will add an HTTP header into the HTTP headers hash rack has. I know that it works.   Is there any reason to favor one of these approaches over the other when inserting into a generic dictionary with the possibility of a key conflict? I'm building an in-memory version of a static collection so in the case of a conflict it doesn't matter whether the old or new value is used. If Not mySettings.ContainsKey(key) Then mySettings.Add(key, Value) End If Versus mySettings(key) = Value And then of course there is this, which is obviously not the right approach: Try mySettings.Add(key, Value) Catch End Try Clearly the big difference here is that the first and second approaches actually do different things, but in my case it doesn't matter. It seems that the second approach is cleaner, but I'm curious if any of you .net gurus have any deeper insight. Thanks!

I want to fire it whenever the value changes, i.e. whenever the spreadsheet recalculates. Any ideas?

What I need is : 4 Dropdowns Only the first dropdown is visible when first entering the page. When selecting a option from dropdown1 the dropdown2 will be populated and so on If there is only 1 option then the dropdown should be hidden If all 4 dropdowns is set and the end-user change dropdown 1, then dropdown2 should be reloaded and the rest be hidden If the user have selected some of the dropdowns(say 1,2 and 3) and hit submit and the page is not accepted on the server side(not valid) the dropdowns should be set exacly as when the user cliked the submit button when the page returns to the user. Any suggestions on this?

• Create a buffered image from rgb pixel values

  I have an integer array of RGB pixels that looks something like: pixels[0] = <rgb-value of pixel(0,0)> pixels[1] = <rgb-value of pixel(1,0)> pixels[2] = <rgb-value of pixel(2,0)> pixels[3] = <rgb-value of pixel(0,1)> ...etc... And I'm trying to create a BufferedImage from it. I tried the following: BufferedImage img = new BufferedImage(width, height, BufferedImage.TYPE_INT_RGB); img.getRaster().setPixels(0, 0, width, height, pixels); But the resulting image has problems with the color bands. The image is unclear and there are diagonal and horizontal lines through it. What is the proper way to initialize the image with the rgb values? thanks, Jeff

• AS3: Setting alpha on parent sprite without affecting sprites children

  Stupid question I guess, but I haven't managed to find the answer yet :) If I change some value for a parent sprite, the same value will affect all of its children. So if I set alpha or width on the parent, the child will automaticly get the same value. Is there some way I can prevent that from happening?

  I am trying to use Jquery to display dates in a dropdown with interval of half month... so the first value would be the coming month's 1st, then second will be the coming month's 15th and third value would be next to next month's first and so on...
