  • Streaming binary data to WCF rest service gives Bad Request (400) when content length is greater than 64k

    - by Mikey Cee
    I have a WCF service that takes a stream: [ServiceContract] public class UploadService : BaseService { [OperationContract] [WebInvoke(BodyStyle=WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare, Method=WebRequestMethods.Http.Post)] public void Upload(Stream data) { // etc. } } This method is to allow my Silverlight application to upload large binary files, the easiest way being to craft the HTTP request by hand from the client. Here is the code in the Silverlight client that does this: const int contentLength = 64 * 1024; // 64 Kb var request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create("http://localhost:8732/UploadService/"); request.AllowWriteStreamBuffering = false; request.Method = WebRequestMethods.Http.Post; request.ContentType = "application/octet-stream"; request.ContentLength = contentLength; using (var outputStream = request.GetRequestStream()) { outputStream.Write(new byte[contentLength], 0, contentLength); outputStream.Flush(); using (var response = request.GetResponse()); } Now, in the case above, where I am streaming 64 kB of data (or less), this works OK and if I set a breakpoint in my WCF method, and I can examine the stream and see 64 kB worth of zeros - yay! The problem arises if I send anything more than 64 kB of data, for instance by changing the first line of my client code to the following: const int contentLength = 64 * 1024 + 1; // 64 kB + 1 B This now throws an exception when I call request.GetResponse(): The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request. In my WCF configuration I have set maxReceivedMessageSize, maxBufferSize and maxBufferPoolSize to 2147483647, but to no avail. Here are the relevant sections from my service's app.config: <service name="UploadService"> <endpoint address="" binding="webHttpBinding" bindingName="StreamedRequestWebBinding" contract="UploadService" behaviorConfiguration="webBehavior"> <identity> <dns value="localhost" /> </identity> </endpoint> <host> <baseAddresses> <add baseAddress="http://localhost:8732/UploadService/" /> </baseAddresses> </host> </service> <bindings> <webHttpBinding> <binding name="StreamedRequestWebBinding" bypassProxyOnLocal="true" useDefaultWebProxy="false" hostNameComparisonMode="WeakWildcard" sendTimeout="00:05:00" openTimeout="00:05:00" receiveTimeout="00:05:00" maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647" maxBufferSize="2147483647" maxBufferPoolSize="2147483647" transferMode="StreamedRequest"> <readerQuotas maxArrayLength="2147483647" maxStringContentLength="2147483647" /> </binding> </webHttpBinding> </bindings> <behaviors> <endpointBehaviors> <behavior name="webBehavior"> <webHttp /> </behavior> <endpointBehaviors> </behaviors> How do I make my service accept more than 64 kB of streamed post data?

  • downloaded zip file returns zero has 0 bytes as size

    - by Yaw Reuben
    I have written a Java web application that allows a user to download files from a server. These files are quite large and so are zipped together before download. It works like this: 1. The user gets a list of files that match his/her criteria 2. If the user likes a file and wants to download he/she selects it by checking a checkbox 3. The user then clicks "download" 4. The files are then zipped and stored on a server 5. The user this then presented with a page which contains a link to the downloadable zip file 6. However on downloading the zip file the file that is downloaded is 0 bytes in size I have checked the remote server and the zip file is being created properly, all that is left is to serve the file the user somehow, can you see where I might be going wrong, or suggest a better way to serve the zip file. The code that creates the link is: <% String zipFileURL = (String) request.getAttribute("zipFileURL"); %> <p><a href="<% out.print(zipFileURL); %> ">Zip File Link</a></p> The code that creates the zipFileURL variable is: public static String zipFiles(ArrayList<String> fileList, String contextRootPath) { //time-stamping Date date = new Date(); Timestamp timeStamp = new Timestamp(date.getTime()); Iterator fileListIterator = fileList.iterator(); String zipFileURL = ""; try { String ZIP_LOC = contextRootPath + "WEB-INF" + SEP + "TempZipFiles" + SEP; BufferedInputStream origin = null; zipFileURL = ZIP_LOC + "FITS." + timeStamp.toString().replaceAll(":", ".").replaceAll(" ", ".") + ".zip"; FileOutputStream dest = new FileOutputStream(ZIP_LOC + "FITS." + timeStamp.toString().replaceAll(":", ".").replaceAll(" ", ".") + ".zip"); ZipOutputStream out = new ZipOutputStream(new BufferedOutputStream( dest)); // out.setMethod(ZipOutputStream.DEFLATED); byte data[] = new byte[BUFFER]; while(fileListIterator.hasNext()) { String fileName = (String) fileListIterator.next(); System.out.println("Adding: " + fileName); FileInputStream fi = new FileInputStream(fileName); origin = new BufferedInputStream(fi, BUFFER); ZipEntry entry = new ZipEntry(fileName); out.putNextEntry(entry); int count; while ((count = origin.read(data, 0, BUFFER)) != -1) { out.write(data, 0, count); } origin.close(); } out.close(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return zipFileURL; }

  • response.redirect to classic asp failing {Unable to evaluate expression because the code is optimize

    - by jeff
    I have the following code pasted below. For some reason, the response.redirect seems to be failing and it is maxing out the cpu on my server and just doesn't do anything. The .net code uploads the file fine, but does not redirect to the asp page to do the processing. I know this is absolute rubbish why would you have .net code redirecting to classic asp, it is a legacy app. I have tried putting false or true etc. at the end of the redirect as I have read other people have had issues with this. Please help as it's driving me insane! It's so strange, it runs locally on my machine but won't run on my server! I am getting the following error when I debugged remotely. {Unable to evaluate expression because the code is optimized or a native frame is on top of the call stack.} (UPDATED) After debugging remotely and taking the redirect out of the try catch, I have found that the redirect is trying to get to the correct location but after it leaves the redirect is just seems to get lost. (almost as if it can't navigate away from the cobra_import project) back up a level to COBRA/pages. Why is this??? This has worked previously!!! public void btnUploadTheFile_Click(object Source, EventArgs evArgs) { //need to check that the uploaded file is an xls file. string strFileNameOnServer = "PJI3.txt"; string strBaseLocation = ConfigurationSettings.AppSettings["str_file_location"]; if ("" == strFileNameOnServer) { txtOutput.InnerHtml = "Error - a file name must be specified."; return; } if (null != uplTheFile.PostedFile) { try { uplTheFile.PostedFile.SaveAs(strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer); txtOutput.InnerHtml = "File <b>" + strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer+"</b> uploaded successfully"; Response.Redirect ("/COBRA/pages/sap_import_pji3_prc.asp"); } catch (Exception e) { txtOutput.InnerHtml = "Error saving <b>" + strBaseLocation+strFileNameOnServer+"</b><br>"+ e.ToString(); } } }

  • itextsharp PdfCopy and landscape pages

    - by Andreas Rehm
    I'm using itextsharp to join mutiple pdf documents and add a footer. My code works fine - except for landscape pages - it isn't detecting the page rotation - the footer is not centerd for landscape: public static int AddPagesFromStream(Document document, PdfCopy pdfCopy, Stream m, bool addFooter, int detailPages, string footer, int footerPageNumOffset, int numPages, string pageLangString, string printLangString) { CreateFont(); try { m.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); var reader = new PdfReader(m); // get page count var pdfPages = reader.NumberOfPages; var i = 0; // add pages while (i < pdfPages) { i++; // import page with pdfcopy var page = pdfCopy.GetImportedPage(reader, i); // get page center float posX; float posY; var rotation = page.BoundingBox.Rotation; if (rotation == 0 || rotation == 180) { posX = page.Width / 2; posY = 0; } else { posX = page.Height / 2; posY = 20f; } var ps = pdfCopy.CreatePageStamp(page); var cb = ps.GetOverContent(); // add footer cb.SetColorFill(BaseColor.WHITE); var gs1 = new PdfGState {FillOpacity = 0.8f}; cb.SetGState(gs1); cb.Rectangle(0, 0, document.PageSize.Width, 46f + posY); cb.Fill(); // Text cb.SetColorFill(BaseColor.BLACK); cb.SetFontAndSize(baseFont, 7); cb.BeginText(); // create text var pages = string.Format(pageLangString, i + footerPageNumOffset, numPages); cb.ShowTextAligned(PdfContentByte.ALIGN_CENTER, printLangString, posX, 40f + posY, 0f); cb.ShowTextAligned(PdfContentByte.ALIGN_CENTER, footer, posX, 28f + posY, 0f); cb.ShowTextAligned(PdfContentByte.ALIGN_CENTER, pages, posX, 20f + posY, 0f); cb.EndText(); ps.AlterContents(); // add page to new pdf pdfCopy.AddPage(page); } // close PdfReader reader.Close(); // return number of pages return i; } catch (Exception e) { Console.WriteLine(e); return 0; } } How do I detect the page rotation (e.g. landscape) format in this case? The given example works for PdfReader but not for PdfCopy. Edit: Why do I need PdfCopy? I tried copying a word pdf export. Some word hyperlinks will not work when you try to copy pages with PdfReader. Only PdfCopy transfers all needed page informations. Edit: (SOLVED) You need to use reader.GetPageRotation(i);

  • How to copy DispatcherObject (BitmapSource) into different thread?

    - by Tomáš Kafka
    Hi, I am trying to figure out how can I copy DispatcherObject (in my case BitmapSource) into another thread. Use case: I have a WPF app that needs to show window in a new thread (the app is actually Outlook addin and we need to do this because Outlook has some hooks in the main UI thread and is stealing certain hotkeys that we need to use - 'lost in translation' in interop of Outlook, WPF (which we use for UI), and Winforms (we need to use certain microsoft-provided winforms controls)). With that, I have my implementation of WPFMessageBox, that is configured by setting some static properties - and and one of them is BitmapSource for icon. This is used so that in startup I can set WPFMessageBox.Icon once, and since then, every WPFMessageBox will have the same icon. The problem is that BitmapSource, which is assigned into icon, is a DispatcherObject, and when read, it will throw InvalidOperationException: "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it.". How can I clone that BitmapSource into the actual thread? It has Clone() and CloneCurrentValue() methods, which don't work (they throw the same exception as well). It also occured to me to use originalIcon.Dispatcher.Invoke( do the cloning here ) - but the BitmapSource's Dispatcher is null, and still - I'd create a copy on a wrong thread and still couldnt use it on mine. BitmapSource.IsFrozen == true. Any idea on how to copy the BitmapSource into different thread (without completely reconstructing it from an image file in a new thread)? EDIT: So, freezing does not help: In the end I have a BitmapFrame (Window.Icon doesn't take any other kind of ImageSource anyway), and when I assign it as a Window.Icon on a different thread, even if frozen, I get InvalidOperationException: "The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it." with a following stack trace: WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.VerifyAccess() + 0x4a bytes WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherObject.VerifyAccess() + 0xc bytes PresentationCore.dll!System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapDecoder.Frames.get() + 0xe bytes PresentationFramework.dll!MS.Internal.AppModel.IconHelper.GetIconHandlesFromBitmapFrame(object callingObj = {WPFControls.WPFMBox.WpfMessageBoxWindow: header}, System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapFrame bf = {System.Windows.Media.Imaging.BitmapFrameDecode}, ref MS.Win32.NativeMethods.IconHandle largeIconHandle = {MS.Win32.NativeMethods.IconHandle}, ref MS.Win32.NativeMethods.IconHandle smallIconHandle = {MS.Win32.NativeMethods.IconHandle}) + 0x3b bytes > PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.UpdateIcon() + 0x118 bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.SetupInitialState(double requestedTop = NaN, double requestedLeft = NaN, double requestedWidth = 560.0, double requestedHeight = NaN) + 0x8a bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.CreateSourceWindowImpl() + 0x19b bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.SafeCreateWindow() + 0x29 bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.ShowHelper(object booleanBox) + 0x81 bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.Show() + 0x48 bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Window.ShowDialog() + 0x29f bytes WPFControls.dll!WPFControls.WPFMBox.WpfMessageBox.ShowDialog(System.Windows.Window owner = {WPFControlsTest.MainWindow}) Line 185 + 0x10 bytes C#

  • Sockets receiving null (Android)

    - by Henrik
    I have a android app that is communicating with a server (written in java). Between these two parts I have established a Socket connection and want to send data. The problem I am having is that sometimes, for some users, the information that reaches the server is null. This works (for all phones, all users): Server: int a = Integer.parseInt(in.readLine()); int b = Integer.parseInt(in.readLine()); int c = Integer.parseInt(in.readLine()); int d = Integer.parseInt(in.readLine()); String checksum = in.readLine(); String model = in.readLine(); String device = in.readLine(); String name = in.readLine(); Client: out.println(a); out.println(b); out.println(c); out.println(d); out.println(hash); out.println(Build.MODEL); out.println(Build.DEVICE); String name = fixName(); out.print(name); out.flush(); This does not work (for some users): Server: int a = Integer.parseInt(in.readLine()); String checksum = in.readLine(); String model = in.readLine(); String device = in.readLine(); String name = in.readLine(); String msg = in.readLine(); int version = -1; String test = "hej"; try{ test = in.readLine(); version = Integer.parseInt(test); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); } Client: out.println(a); out.println(hash); out.println(Build.MODEL); out.println(Build.DEVICE); String name = fixName(); if(name == null) name = "John Doe"; out.println(name); String msg = fixMsg(); if(msg == null) name = "nada"; out.println(msg); out.println(curversion); out.flush(); Sometimes, in the second case, the name, msg, and version (the string test) are null at the server side. The catch is triggered because test is null. curversion,a are ints, the rest are strings. Any ideas?

  • Python4Delphi: Returning a python object in a function. (DelphiWrapper)

    - by Gabriel Fonseca
    I am using python4delphi. ow can I return an object from a wrapped Delphi class function? Code Snippet: I have a simple Delphi Class that i wrapped to Python Script, right? TSimple = Class Private function getvar1:string; Public Published property var1:string read getVar1; function getObj:TSimple; end; ... function TSimple.getVar1:string; begin result:='hello'; end; function TSimple.getObj:TSimple; begin result:=self; end; I made the TPySimple like the demo32 to give class access to the python code. My python module name is test. TPyDado = class(TPyDelphiPersistent) // Constructors & Destructors constructor Create( APythonType : TPythonType ); override; constructor CreateWith( PythonType : TPythonType; args : PPyObject ); override; // Basic services function Repr : PPyObject; override; class function DelphiObjectClass : TClass; override; end; ... { TPyDado } constructor TPyDado.Create(APythonType: TPythonType); begin inherited; // we need to set DelphiObject property DelphiObject := TDado.Create; with TDado(DelphiObject) do begin end; Owned := True; // We own the objects we create end; constructor TPyDado.CreateWith(PythonType: TPythonType; args: PPyObject); begin inherited; with GetPythonEngine, DelphiObject as TDado do begin if PyArg_ParseTuple( args, ':CreateDado' ) = 0 then Exit; end; end; class function TPyDado.DelphiObjectClass: TClass; begin Result := TDado; end; function TPyDado.Repr: PPyObject; begin with GetPythonEngine, DelphiObject as TDado do Result := VariantAsPyObject(Format('',[])); // or Result := PyString_FromString( PAnsiChar(Format('(%d, %d)',[x, y])) ); end; And now the python code: import test a = test.Simple() # try access the property var1 and everything is right print a.var1 # work's, but.. b = a.getObj(); # raise a exception that not find any attributes named getObj. # if the function returns a string for example, it's work.

  • Injecting the mailer service, got "The service definition 'mailer' does not exist"?

  • iphone Odd Problem when using a custom cell

    - by Brodie4598
    Please note where I have the NSLOG. All it is displaying in the log is the first three items in the nameSection. After some testing, I discovered it is displaying how many keys there are because if I add a key to the plist, it will log a fourth item in log. nameSection should be an array of the strings that make up the key array in the plist file. the plist file has 3 dictionaries, each with several arrays of strings. The code picks the dictionary I am working with correctly, then should use the array names as sections in the table and the strings en each array as what to display in each cell. so if the dictionary i am working with has 3 arrays, NSLOG will display 3 strings from the first array: 2010-05-01 17:03:26.957 Checklists[63926:207] string0 2010-05-01 17:03:26.960 Checklists[63926:207] string1 2010-05-01 17:03:26.962 Checklists[63926:207] string2 then stop with: 2010-05-01 17:03:26.963 Checklists[63926:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '* -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (3) beyond bounds (3)' if i added an array to the dictionary, it log 4 items instead of 3. I hope this explanation makes sense... -(NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView{ return [keys count]; } -(NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger) section { NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex:section]; NSArray *nameSection = [names objectForKey:key]; return [nameSection count]; } -(UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { NSUInteger section = [indexPath section]; NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex: section]; NSArray *nameSection = [names objectForKey:key]; static NSString *SectionsTableIdentifier = @"SectionsTableIdentifier"; static NSString *ChecklistCellIdentifier = @"ChecklistCellIdentifier "; ChecklistCell *cell = (ChecklistCell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SectionsTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray *nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"ChecklistCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id oneObject in nib) if ([oneObject isKindOfClass:[ChecklistCell class]]) cell = (ChecklistCell *)oneObject; } NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; NSDictionary *rowData = [self.keys objectAtIndex:row]; NSString *tempString = [[NSString alloc]initWithFormat:@"%@",[nameSection objectAtIndex:row]]; NSLog(@"%@",tempString); cell.colorLabel.text = [tempArray objectAtIndex:0]; cell.nameLabel.text = [tempArray objectAtIndex:1]; return cell; return cell; } - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:indexPath]; if (cell.accessoryType == UITableViewCellAccessoryNone) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark; } else if (cell.accessoryType == UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark) { cell.accessoryType = UITableViewCellAccessoryNone; } [tableView deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:NO]; } -(NSString *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView titleForHeaderInSection:(NSInteger)section{ NSString *key = [keys objectAtIndex:section]; return key; }

  • How to set which version of the VC++ runtime Visual Studio 2005 targets

    - by TallGuy
    I have an application that contains a VC++ project (along with C# projects). Previously, (i.e. during the last year or so) when a build has been done, Visual Studio 2005 appears to be targeting the VC++ runtime version 8.0.50727.762. At least, that is what the Assembly.dll.intermediate.manifest file is telling me: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?> <assembly xmlns='urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1' manifestVersion='1.0'> <dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.VC80.CRT' version='8.0.50727.762' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b' /> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> </assembly> This version number matches the Visual Studio 2005 version number. The application worked fine when deployed to the webserver. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and all was right with the world. Now something has changed. I don't know what - a security patch, an obscure Visual Studio setting or something. Now Visual Studio 2005 seems to be targeting the wrong version of the VC++ runtime: <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?> <assembly xmlns='urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1' manifestVersion='1.0'> <dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type='win32' name='Microsoft.VC80.CRT' version='8.0.50727.4053' processorArchitecture='x86' publicKeyToken='1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b' /> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> </assembly> When I deploy the application to the webserver, I get the dreaded This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800736B1) error. This problem occurs even when I recompile previous versions of the application. I can absolutely guarantee that nothing at all has changed in the solution - we zip up the entire contents of the solution as part of the build process and archive it. I have unzipped a number of these to a temp directory, verified that the previous manifest file refers to 8.0.50727.762, recompiled using exactly the same command at the command line and then verified that the new manifest file now refers to 8.0.50727.4053. I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Version 8.0.50727.762 (SP.050727-7600) and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 77646-008-0000007-41610. Why would Visual Studio revert to a previous version of the VC++ runtime? How do I specify which version it should use? What is going wrong here?

  • Better way to get int from FragmentActivity in a Fragment?

    - by Gimberg
    Hi im trying to get an int from my FragmentActivity and i have a way to do this but the code get very cluttered and long and i did this to shorten the problem and i don't get any errors while in the editor but when i run the app it eminently crashes. Any suggestions? An example of the code that doesn't work MainActivity mainActivity = ((MainActivity)getActivity()); public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.upgrades_fragment, container, false); TextView AirFreshenersCost = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.AirFreshenersCost ); if(mainActivity.amountAirFresheners == 5){ AirFreshenersCost.setText("5"); } return view; } LogCat 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): java.lang.NullPointerException 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at com.free.dennisg.clickingbad.fragments.UpgradesFragment.onCreateView(UpgradesFragment.java:40) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.Fragment.performCreateView(Fragment.java:1478) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.FragmentManagerImpl.moveToState(FragmentManager.java:927) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.FragmentManagerImpl.moveToState(FragmentManager.java:1104) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.BackStackRecord.run(BackStackRecord.java:682) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.FragmentManagerImpl.execPendingActions(FragmentManager.java:1460) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.FragmentManagerImpl.executePendingTransactions(FragmentManager.java:472) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.app.FragmentPagerAdapter.finishUpdate(FragmentPagerAdapter.java:141) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.view.ViewPager.populate(ViewPager.java:1068) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.view.ViewPager.populate(ViewPager.java:914) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.support.v4.view.ViewPager$3.run(ViewPager.java:244) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.view.Choreographer$CallbackRecord.run(Choreographer.java:749) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.view.Choreographer.doCallbacks(Choreographer.java:562) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.view.Choreographer.doFrame(Choreographer.java:531) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.view.Choreographer$FrameDisplayEventReceiver.run(Choreographer.java:735) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.os.Handler.handleCallback(Handler.java:730) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:92) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:5289) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:525) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:739) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:555) 10-27 22:16:37.333: E/AndroidRuntime(5593): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) An example of the code that work public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.upgrades_fragment, container, false); TextView AirFreshenersCost = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.AirFreshenersCost ); if(((MainActivity)getActivity()).amountAirFresheners == 5){ AirFreshenersCost.setText("5"); } return view; }

  • Resize an array of images with OpenCV

    - by amr
    I'm passing an array of images (IplImage**) to an object in C++ using OpenCV. I'm then trying to iterate over that array and resize them all to a fixed size (150x150) I'm doing it this way: for(int i = 0; i< this->numTrainingFaces; i++) { IplImage* frame_copy = cvCreateImage( cvSize(150,150), this->faceImageArray[0]->depth, this->faceImageArray[0]->nChannels ); cout << "Created image" << endl; cvResize(this->faceImageArray[i], frame_copy); cout << "Resized image" << endl; IplImage* grey_image = cvCreateImage( cvSize( frame_copy->width, frame_copy->height ), IPL_DEPTH_8U, 1 ); cout << "Created grey image" << endl; cvCvtColor( frame_copy, grey_image, CV_RGB2GRAY ); cout << "Converted image" << endl; this->faceImageArray[i] = grey_image; cvReleaseImage(&frame_copy); cvReleaseImage(&grey_image); } But I'm getting this output, and I'm not sure why: Created image Resized image Created grey image Converted image Created image OpenCV Error: Assertion failed (src.type() == dst.type()) in cvResize, file /build/buildd/opencv-2.1.0/src/cv/cvimgwarp.cpp, line 3102 terminate called after throwing an instance of 'cv::Exception' what(): /build/buildd/opencv-2.1.0/src/cv/cvimgwarp.cpp:3102: error: (-215) src.type() == dst.type() in function cvResize Aborted I'm basically just trying to replace the image in the array with the resized one in as few steps as possible. Edit: Revised my code as follows: for(int i = 0; i< this->numTrainingFaces; i++) { IplImage* frame_copy = cvCreateImage( cvSize(150,150), this->faceImageArray[i]->depth, this->faceImageArray[i]->nChannels ); cvResize(this->faceImageArray[i], frame_copy); IplImage* grey_image = cvCreateImage( cvSize( frame_copy->width, frame_copy->height ), IPL_DEPTH_8U, 1 ); cvCvtColor( frame_copy, grey_image, CV_RGB2GRAY ); faceImageArray[i] = cvCreateImage( cvSize(grey_image->width, grey_image->height), grey_image->depth, grey_image->nChannels); cvCopy(grey_image,faceImageArray[i]); cvReleaseImage(&frame_copy); cvReleaseImage(&grey_image); } Then later on I'm performing some PCA, and get this output: OpenCV Error: Null pointer (Null pointer to the written object) in cvWrite, file /build/buildd/opencv-2.1.0/src/cxcore/cxpersistence.cpp, line 4740 But I don't think my code has got to the point where I'm explicitly calling cvWrite, so it must be part of the library. I can give a full implementation if necessary - is there anything in my code that's going to create a null pointer?

  • JPanel components paint-time problem

    - by Tom Brito
    I'm having a problem that when my frame is shown (after a login dialog) the buttons are not on correct position, then in some miliseconds they go to the right position (the center of the panel with border layout). When I make a SSCCE, it works correct, but when I run my whole code I have this fast-miliseconds delay to the buttons to go to the correct place. Unfortunately, I can't post the whole code, but the method that shows the frame is: public void login(JComponent userView) { centerPanel.removeAll(); centerPanel.add(userView); centerPanel.revalidate(); centerPanel.repaint(); frame.setVisible(true); } What would cause this delay to the panel layout? (I'm running everything in the EDT) -- update In my machine, this SSCCE shows the layout problem in 2 of 10 times I run it: import java.awt.BorderLayout; import javax.swing.JButton; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; import javax.swing.SwingUtilities; public class TEST { public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { SwingUtilities.invokeAndWait(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { System.out.println("Debug test..."); JPanel btnPnl = new JPanel(); btnPnl.add(new JButton("TEST")); JFrame f = new JFrame("TEST"); f.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); f.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout()); f.getContentPane().add(btnPnl); f.pack(); f.setSize(800, 600); f.setVisible(true); System.out.println("End debug test!"); } }); } } The button first appers in the up-left, and then it goes to the center. Please, note that I'm understand, not just correct. Is it a java bug? --update OK, so the SSCCE don't show the problem with you that tried till now. Maybe it's my computer performance problem. But this don't answer the question, I still think Java Swing is creating new threads for make the layout behind the scenes.

  • UITableViewCell outlets not set during bundle load (possibly very elementary question)

    - by Jan Zich
    What are the most common reasons for an outlet (a class property) not being set during a bundle load? I'm sorry; most likely I'm not using the correct terms. It's my first steps with iPhone OS development and Objective-C, so please bear with me. Here is more details. Basically, I'm trying to create a table view based form with a fixed number of static rows. I followed this example: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/userexperience/conceptual/TableView_iPhone/TableViewCells/TableViewCells.html Scroll down to The Technique for Static Row Content please. I have one nib file with one table view, three table cells and all connections set as in the example. The problem is that the corresponding cell properties in my controller are never initialised. I get an exception in cellForRowAtIndexPath complaining that the returned cell is nil: UITableView dataSource must return a cell from tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath. Here are the relevant parts from the implementation of the controller: @synthesize cellA; @synthesize cellB; @synthesize cellC; - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tableView { return 1; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return 3; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { switch (indexPath.row) { case 0: return cellA; break; case 1: return cellB; break; case 2: return cellC; break; default: return nil; } } And here is the interface part: @interface AssociatePhoneViewController : UITableViewController { UITableViewCell *cellA; UITableViewCell *cellB; UITableViewCell *cellB; } @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *cellA; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *cellB; @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UITableViewCell *cellC; @end This must be possibly one of the the most embarrassing questions on StackOverflow. It looks like the most basic example code. Is is possible that the cells are not instantiated with the nib file? I have them on the same level before the tabula view in the nib file. I tried to move them after the table view, but it did not make any difference. Are table cells in some way special? Do I need to set some flag or some property on them in the nib file? I was under the impression that all classes (views, windows, controllers …) listed in a nib file are simply instantiated (and linked using the provided connections). Could it possibly be some memory issue? The cell properties in my controller are not defined in any special way.

  • Creating and writing file from a FileOutputStream in Java

    - by Althane
    Okay, so I'm working on a project where I use a Java program to initiate a socket connection between two classes (a FileSender and FileReceiver). My basic idea was that the FileSender would look like this: try { writer = new DataOutputStream(connect.getOutputStream()); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } //While we have bytes to send while(filein.available() >0){ //We write them out to our buffer writer.write(filein.read(outBuffer)); writer.flush(); } //Then close our filein filein.close(); //And then our socket; connect.close(); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); The constructor contains code that checks to see if the file exists, and that the socket is connected, and so on. Inside my FileReader is this though: input = recvSocket.accept(); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input.getInputStream())); FileOutputStream fOut= new FileOutputStream(filename); String line = br.readLine(); while(line != null){ fOut.write(line.getBytes()); fOut.flush(); line = br.readLine(); } System.out.println("Before RECV close statements"); fOut.close(); input.close(); recvSocket.close(); System.out.println("After RECV clsoe statements"); All inside a try-catch block. So, what I'm trying to do is have the FileSender reading in the file, converting to bytes, sending and flushing it out. FileReceiver, then reads in the bytes, writes to the fileOut, flushes, and continues waiting for more. I make sure to close all the things that I open, so... here comes the weird part. When I try and open the created text file in Eclipse, it tells me "An SWT error has occured ... recommended to exit the workbench... see .log for more details.". Another window pops up saying "Unhandled event loop exception, (no more handles)". However, if I try to open the sent text file in notepad2, I get ThisIsASentTextfile Which is good (well, minus the fact that there should be line breaks, but I'm working on that...). Does anyone know why this is happening? And while we're checking, how to add the line breaks? (And is this a particularly bad way to transfer files over java without getting some other libraries?)

  • How to remove not required Elements from generated XML via jaxb

    - by Dangling Piyush
    I want to know if there is anyway for removing not required elements from generated xml using jaxb.I have my xsd element definition as follows. <xsd:element name="Title" maxOccurs="1" minOccurs="0"> <xsd:annotation> <xsd:documentation> A name given to the digital record. </xsd:documentation> </xsd:annotation> <xsd:simpleType> <xsd:restriction base="xsd:string"> <xsd:minLength value="1"></xsd:minLength> </xsd:restriction> </xsd:simpleType> </xsd:element> As you can see it is not a mandatory element because minOccurs="0" But if it is not empty the length should be 1. <xsd:minLength value="1"></xsd:minLength> At the time of marshalling if I left the Title field blank it is throwing the SAXException because of min-length restriction. So what I want to do is to remove the whole occurrence of <Title/> from generated XML.Right now i have removed the min-length restriction so it is adding the <Title> element as EMPTY <Title></Title> But I do not want it like this.Any help is appreciated.I am using jaxb 2.0 for Marshalling. UPDATE: Following is my variable definiton : private JAXBContext jaxbContext; private Unmarshaller unmarshaller; private SchemaFactory factory; private Schema schema; private Marshaller marshaller; Marshalling code. jaxbContext = JAXBContext.newInstance(ERecordType.class); marshaller = jaxbContext.createMarshaller(); factory = SchemaFactory.newInstance(XMLConstants.W3C_XML_SCHEMA_NS_URI); schema = factory.newSchema((new File(xsdLocation))); marshaller.setProperty(Marshaller.JAXB_FORMATTED_OUTPUT, true); ERecordType e = new ERecordType(); e.setCataloging(rc); /** * Validate Against Schema. */ marshaller.setSchema(schema); /** * Marshal will throw an exception if XML not validated against * schema. */ marshaller.marshal(e, System.out);

  • Failed to obtain JDBC Driver for MySQL under Tomcat environment

    - by Michael Mao
    Hi all: I've been trying to obtain the Driver class for JDBC connection to MySQL. The workstation is running on Linux, Fedora 10. I have manually set up the classpath variable for Java by CLI like this: bash-3.2$ echo $CLASSPATH /home/cmao/public_html/jsp/mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar This shows that I've added the lastest mysql connection jar archive to my CLASSPATH variable. I've created a test JSP page which can be found here And source code for this page is: <%@page language="java"%> <%@page import="java.sql.*"%> <%@page import="java.util.*"%> <html> <head> <title>UTS JDBC MySQL connection test page</title> </head> <body> <% Connection con = null; out.print("Java version is : " + System.getProperty("java.version") + "<br />"); out.print("Tomcat version is : " + application.getServerInfo() + "<br />"); out.print("Servlet version is: " + application.getMajorVersion() + "<br />"); out.print("JSP version is : " + JspFactory.getDefaultFactory().getEngineInfo().getSpecificationVersion() +"<br />"); //out.print("Java classpath is : " + System.getProperty("java.class.path")+ "<br />"); //out.print("JSP classpath is : " + appliaction.getAttribute("org.apache.catalina.jsp_classpath") + "<br />"); //out.print("Tomcat classpath is : " + System.getProperty("org.apache.tomcat.common.classpath") + "<br />"); try { Class c = Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"); } catch(Exception e) { out.println("Error! Failed to obtain JDBC driver for MySQL... Missing class \"com.mysql.jdbc.Driver\"<br />"); } %> </body> </html> None of those commented out line would work, various Jsper Expetions would be thrown. You can check those Error pages from the following links: classpath Error page catalina Error page tomcat Error page It seems, from my limited knowledge of JSP and Servlet, the Tomcat environment "ignores" my Java CLASSPATH? In which case I cannot configure the MySQL JDBC package to let my Servlets(a JSP is but a Servlet anyway) work. I am not sure how to fix this issue. would it be better if I use an IDE like Eclipse or NetBeans and create a real Java "web app" so that everything can be "self-configured" by the usage of a web.config XML configuration file? So that I can certainly bypass this Tomcat environment restriction? Many thanks for the suggestions in advance.

  • ArithmeticException thrown during BigDecimal.divide

    - by polygenelubricants
    I thought java.math.BigDecimal is supposed to be The Answer™ to the need of performing infinite precision arithmetic with decimal numbers. Consider the following snippet: import java.math.BigDecimal; //... final BigDecimal one = BigDecimal.ONE; final BigDecimal three = BigDecimal.valueOf(3); final BigDecimal third = one.divide(three); assert third.multiply(three).equals(one); // this should pass, right? I expect the assert to pass, but in fact the execution doesn't even get there: one.divide(three) causes ArithmeticException to be thrown! Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArithmeticException: Non-terminating decimal expansion; no exact representable decimal result. at java.math.BigDecimal.divide It turns out that this behavior is explicitly documented in the API: In the case of divide, the exact quotient could have an infinitely long decimal expansion; for example, 1 divided by 3. If the quotient has a non-terminating decimal expansion and the operation is specified to return an exact result, an ArithmeticException is thrown. Otherwise, the exact result of the division is returned, as done for other operations. Browsing around the API further, one finds that in fact there are various overloads of divide that performs inexact division, i.e.: final BigDecimal third = one.divide(three, 33, RoundingMode.DOWN); System.out.println(three.multiply(third)); // prints "0.999999999999999999999999999999999" Of course, the obvious question now is "What's the point???". I thought BigDecimal is the solution when we need exact arithmetic, e.g. for financial calculations. If we can't even divide exactly, then how useful can this be? Does it actually serve a general purpose, or is it only useful in a very niche application where you fortunately just don't need to divide at all? If this is not the right answer, what CAN we use for exact division in financial calculation? (I mean, I don't have a finance major, but they still use division, right???).

  • How the simples GUI countdown is supposed to work?

    - by Roman
    I am trying to write the simples GUI countdown. I found in Internet some code but it is already too fancy for me. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. So, I just want to have a window saying "You have 10 second left". The number of second should decrease every second from 10 to 0. I wrote a code. And I think I am close to the working solution. But I still missing something. Could you pleas help me to find out what is wrong? Here is my code: import javax.swing.*; public class Countdown { static JLabel label; // Method which defines the appearance of the window. private static void showGUI() { JFrame frame = new JFrame("Simple Countdown"); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); JLabel label = new JLabel("Some Text"); frame.add(label); frame.pack(); frame.setVisible(true); } // Define a new thread in which the countdown is counting down. static Thread counter = new Thread() { public void run() { for (int i=10; i>0; i=i-1) { updateGUI(i,label); try {Thread.sleep(1000);} catch(InterruptedException e) {}; } } }; // A method which updates GUI (sets a new value of JLabel). private static void updateGUI(final int i, final JLabel label) { SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable(i,label) { public Runnable(int i, JLabel label) { this.i = i; this.label = label; } public void run() { label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds."); } }); } // The main method (entry point). public static void main(String[] args) { javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() { public void run() { showGUI(); //counter.start(); } }); //counter.start(); } } And I have several concrete question about this code: Where should I place the counter.start();? (In my code I put it on 2 places. Which one is correct?) Why compiler complains about the constructor for Runnable? It says that I have an invalid method declaration and I need to specify the returned type. ADDED: I made the suggested corrections. And then I execute the code and get: Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException at Worker.run(Worker.java:12) In the Worker.java in the line 12 I have: label.setText("You have " + i + " seconds.");.

  • how to include in web.config an external mydll.config file and read its values?

    - by firepol
    Hi, I found this answer about external configuration files. I'm trying to do a similar thing. I have a small webapplication called StatsGen I want to include in other projects, and for convenience I'd like to have the settings inside the bin folder, in a config file with an appropriate name, in my case: StatsGen.config. So I've put these line in the web.config (as explained in the answer I mentioned above): <configSections> <section name="StatsGenSettings" restartOnExternalChanges="true" type="System.Configuration.NameValueFileSectionHandler" /> <!--sectionGroups--> </configSections> <StatsGenSettings configSource="StatsGen.config"></StatsGenSettings> <!--and here comes the rest... appSettings etc.--> Inside the bin folder, I created a StatsGen.xml file, then renamed it to StatsGen.config. It looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <StatsGenSettings> <add key="Password" value="myStatsPass" /> <add key="ConnectionString" value="Server=mydbsrv;Database=myDB;User ID=myUser;Password=myPass" /> </StatsGenSettings> I created an Helper class, as suggested in the answer. In the Page_Load of my default.aspx.cs file, I've put: goodPassword = StatsGenSettings.Instance["Password"]; When I load my page, I get this error: The type initializer for 'StatsGen.Helpers.StatsGenSettings' threw an exception. I've tried to exlude the helper and just to get access to the key, like this: NameValueCollection _settings = ConfigurationManager.GetSection("StatsGenSettings") as NameValueCollection; And I get this error: Unable to open configSource file 'StatsGen.config'. (C:\Users\pbo\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\StatsGen\StatsGen\web.config line 21) At line 21 I just have this, as explained above: <StatsGenSettings configSource="StatsGen.config"></StatsGenSettings> So now I'm wondering, what's wrong? Some detailed help would be cool... like: where exactly should I declare the StatsGenSettings element inside the web.config? It was not specified in the answer I've found... or what else am I doing wrong? Thanks for letting me know...

Here is the error log 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to start activity ComponentInfo{alex.android.galaxy.tab.latest/alex.android.galaxy.tab.latest.Basic_db_output}: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2663) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread.handleLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2679) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread.access$2300(ActivityThread.java:125) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread$H.handleMessage(ActivityThread.java:2033) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:123) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4627) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:521) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:868) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:626) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): Caused by: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at alex.android.galaxy.tab.latest.Basic_db_output.onCreate(Basic_db_output.java:44) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.Instrumentation.callActivityOnCreate(Instrumentation.java:1047) 06-10 20:21:53.254: E/AndroidRuntime(315): at android.app.ActivityThread.performLaunchActivity(ActivityThread.java:2627) I am basing my code example on this How to use ArrayAdapter<myClass> ArrayList list = new ArrayList(); for(int i=1; i <= 3; i++) { Reader reader = new ResultsReader("android_galaxy_tab_latest/src/quiz"+i+".txt"); reader.read(); String str = ((ResultsReader)reader).getInput(); String data[] = str.split("<.>"); Question q = new Question(); q.question = data[0]; q.answer = Integer.parseInt(data[1]); q.choice1 = data[2]; q.choice2 = data[3]; q.choice3 = data[4]; list.add(q); }

  • How to avoid repetition when working with primitive types?

    - by I82Much
    I have the need to perform algorithms on various primitive types; the algorithm is essentially the same with the exception of which type the variables are. So for instance, /** * Determine if <code>value</code> is the bitwise OR of elements of <code>validValues</code> array. * For instance, our valid choices are 0001, 0010, and 1000. * We are given a value of 1001. This is valid because it can be made from * ORing together 0001 and 1000. * On the other hand, if we are given a value of 1111, this is invalid because * you cannot turn on the second bit from left by ORing together those 3 * valid values. */ public static boolean isValid(long value, long[] validValues) { for (long validOption : validValues) { value &= ~validOption; } return value != 0; } public static boolean isValid(int value, int[] validValues) { for (int validOption : validValues) { value &= ~validOption; } return value != 0; } How can I avoid this repetition? I know there's no way to genericize primitive arrays, so my hands seem tied. I have instances of primitive arrays and not boxed arrays of say Number objects, so I do not want to go that route either. I know there are a lot of questions about primitives with respect to arrays, autoboxing, etc., but I haven't seen it formulated in quite this way, and I haven't seen a decisive answer on how to interact with these arrays. I suppose I could do something like: public static<E extends Number> boolean isValid(E value, List<E> numbers) { long theValue = value.longValue(); for (Number validOption : numbers) { theValue &= ~validOption.longValue(); } return theValue != 0; } and then public static boolean isValid(long value, long[] validValues) { return isValid(value, Arrays.asList(ArrayUtils.toObject(validValues))); } public static boolean isValid(int value, int[] validValues) { return isValid(value, Arrays.asList(ArrayUtils.toObject(validValues))); } Is that really much better though? Any thoughts in this matter would be appreciated.
