Buttons in flex can be pressed with the space key, but a client would like to press enter instead of space. This can be achieved by programming each button, but it would be very time consuming.
Does anyone have an idea how to do this in the less amount of time?
thanks.
Besides the Amazon Integrator from /n software, are there any other Amazon S3 components available that can be used with Delphi 2010? I would use the one from /n software, but it has some issues (e.g. GetObjectInfo doesn't work if the object is stored in a specific location) and limitations (e.g. copying objects doesn't let you define replacement meta-data).
I don't have the time or resources to create such a component myself.
Thanks!
Hi there.
Once I read an MSDN article that encouraged the following programming paradigm:
public class MyClass
{
public void Method1()
{
NewCustomException();
}
public void Method2()
{
NewCustomException();
}
void NewCustomException()
{
throw new CustomException("Exception message");
}
}
Do you think this paradigm makes sense? Wouldn't it be enough to store the exception message in a static const field and then pass it to the exception's constructor, instead of encapsulating the whole exception throw?
I don't want to take the time to learn Obj-C. I've spent 7+ years doing web application programming. Shouldn't there be a way to use the WebView and just write the whole app in javascript, pulling the files right from the resources of the project?
I am very new to iPhone programming and I was wondering how could I create a separate section for my application in the Settings.app? Like what the Facebook or BeejiveIM or JellyCar apps do. Would I have to declare this dynamically, or could I use Interface Builder?
Hey guys,
We're getting a QA for the first time in our project. We're not sure how to best use him.
We work in an Agile environment. Pair programming, user stories, short sprints (two weeks), daily stand-ups, retrospectives, planning meetings, quick releases etc.
One obviously way to use a tester is to verify bugs fixes and user stories every sprint. Are there any better ways for an Agile team to utilize a tester.
Thanks,
Sri
I am trying to write a pre-qualification programming exam, hopefully using Google Forms... however they seem to be unable to do new-lines in both the questions and the section headers...
My current format is new page for each question, with a "section header" as the main question (because it has a textarea for the "code snippet") and a "multiple choice question" as the ummm... question answer...
Help much appreciated...
What is the most painful programming mistake you have done and what lesson you have learn after?
I guess mine was making a release to production on the development code which was not tested yet.
The lesson-learned:
Delete any projects that can trigger a
release on the live application from
CCTray. I only add them when a release
to production is necessary since then.
And once I am done, I delete them from
my project lists.
For many questions, especially for C-related ones, the answer seems to be found in "the standard". However, where do we find that - online?
Googling can sometimes feel futile, again especially for the C standards, since they are drowned in the flood of discussions on programming forums ;)
To get this started, since these are the ones I am searching for right now, where are there good online resources for:
C89
C99
C++03
Does anyone could tell something about these file? As I know:
1. Common-Lisp and Scheme are both some lisp programming langue.
2. common-Lisp source file *.lisp can be compiled into binary file *.fasl which can be load faster than the source file.
Q:Can the Scheme source code *.scm be compiled into some binary file that will be load faster than the source code?
Thanks in advance
joe
Not so much a question to help my own programming, but I found this page on facebook with a cool illusion and a page that says "to see the real illusion, copy and paste this code into your address bar" and there is a script: http://pastebin.com/LQUVQ8hm
What the hell is this? What would happen if I put it in my address bar, which I assume would be a very unwise idea?
I am confused.
I'm looking for a way to specify required js files by an angular app. So that, we don't need to include an array of tag for all the files which may be required by some ng-app. The main idea behind this requirement is - we might not need to load all the resources on the browser at once. Which ever ng-app gets loaded onto the screen, will fetch its dependencies on its own from the server. Is there any existing way within angularJS to achieve this goal..?
Ever since I started programming this has been something I have been curious about. But seems too complicated for me to even attempt.
I'd love to see a solution.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 // returns 6 (n + 1)
10, 20, 30, 40, 50 //returns 60 (n + 10)
10, 17, 31, 59, 115 //returns 227 ((n * 2) - 3)
I tried searching on the net, but there are hardly any resources. A small example would suffice.
EDIT
I mean, two different C programs communicating with each other. One program should send "Hi" and the other should receive it. Something like that.
Is it practically possible to create a triangle of stars like this as below in SQL.I know that this could be done easily in any other programming language like C,C++,Java but want to know whether it is really possible with just SQL or PL/SQL.I tried working on it with dual table in Oracle but couldn't get through it.

Can someone please shed somelight if anyone knows about it.
Is there high-level language out there for describing algorithms, that's geared towards specification, rather than implementation?
The idea would be to have a machine-readable archive of standard algorithms, with machine-readable annotations on trade-offs, and variants.
I'm thinking of something like CycL / OpenCyC, but for algorithms and programming patterns.
I'm a blind student currently in a system admin/shell programming class. Although ssh works fine for executing commands like ls, pwd, etc editors do not work well with my screen reader and an ssh session. I was wondering if it is possible to mount a Linux folder over ssh so it appears as a windows drive? This way I could edit any files I needed to with accessible software and not have to constantly use SCP to send files back and fourth.
I'm looking for a complete list of security guidelines for programming and deploying PHP web sites and applications on an Apache (Linux) server. Basically, a "security check list" to run through before finishing a project. I.e.,
Cross Site Scripting
Cross Site Request Forgery
Sanitize form data that goes into database
Disable register globals and error reporting in custom php.ini
Upload files below web root
...(the list goes on)
I did some searching on the internet and in this forum, but couldn't find a comprehensive, succinct, and complete list of guidelines.
Thanks in advance.
Hey guys
I'm very new to the whole programming - so far I only have experience with building websites, database etc.
I currently have a website where users can share their online purchases.
I want to build a widget that other websites can integrate on their site. Users should be able to insert their purchases directly through this widget without having to come to my website.
Thats the idea but I have no idea how to go about it - can anyone point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Hello.
I am making my own crude MP3 player, and I now have a JList with which I have populated a number of files in the form of MP3 objects (displayed on frame using DefaultListModel).
I would now like to have the oppurtunity to save this JList to a file on disk. How would I go about doing this?
I'm very new with programming and Java, so help is greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for statistics on SCM usage, in particular I'm trying to find out what percentage of their time developers spend on SCM-related tasks. The more detailed the breakdown, the better. Online and offline resources would both be tremendously useful to me. Can anyone point me towards some industry studies? Preferably recent ones?
There are a lot of WPF resources that are aiming developers. We are trying to get our designer up-to speed, and I have been researching some of the options on the market.
The only two reasonable options that I found were
"Expression Blend Unleashed" and "APress Foundation Expression Blend 2 Building Applications in WPF and SilverLight".
Do people have any recommendations on blend/xaml books/tutorials for designers?
In .NET land I would normally query the database and populate a generic List kind of collection. Then the app would use this.
In Android land I have been reading about DB access and use in apps. Why do most of the docs show the use of a cursor and use of constants to access it? Is this to save on resources perhaps?
Hi,
Is there any way to change backlight turn off TIME using programming(Preferred c# or vb.net other c++ can be used too)? I guess, may be it is changed using registry info or API.
Manually, it is done by:
Setting Backlight (Battery Power and External Power)
Thank you
