My program will use Process.Start(@"blblabla.smc"); to launch a file, but the problem is that most likely the user will not have a program set as default application for the particular file extension. How can I add file associations to the WindowsRegistry?

    I'm looking for a way to set a selection in a textarea in Internet Explorer. In other browsers, this works just fine: textarea.selectionStart = start; textarea.selectionEnd = end; In IE, I assume I have to use createRange and adjust the selection somehow, but I cannot figure out how. Extra bonus points for a link to a proper documentation about createRange and associated methods, MSDN isn't helping out much.

    In Environment - Standard User, Win7x64, IE8 on opening Unprotected URL, IE 8 will first start a tab with low integrity and the swap out this tab with another tab of medium integrity. This is done behind the scene and the original IWebBrowser2 pointer is lost. I want to catch the 'NewProcess' Event which will get generated during this swap out, please help me how to go about this.   • Google App Engine with local Django 1.1 gets Intermittent Failures

    I'm using the Windows Launcher development environment for Google App Engine. I have downloaded Django 1.1.2 source, and un-tarrred the "django" subdirectory to live within my application directory (a peer of app.yaml) At the top of each .py source file, I do this: import settings import os os.environ["DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE"] = 'settings' In my file settings.py (which lives at the root of the app directory, as well), I do this: DEBUG = True TEMPLATE_DIRS = ('html') INSTALLED_APPS = ('filters') import os os.environ["DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE"] = 'settings' from google.appengine.dist import use_library use_library('django', '1.1') from django.template import loader Yes, this looks a bit like overkill, doesn't it? I only use django.template. I don't explicitly use any other part of django. However, intermittently I get one of two errors: 1) Django complains that DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE is not defined. 2) Django complains that common.html (a template I'm extending in other templates) doesn't exist. 95% of the time, these errors are not encountered, and they randomly just start happening. Once in that state, the local server seems "wedged" and re-booting it generally fixes it. What's causing this to happen, and what can I do about it? How can I even debug it? All templates live in a directory named "html" in my root directory, and "html/common.html" exists. I know the template engine finds them, because I start out with "html/edit_budget.html" which extends common.html. It looks as if the settings module somehow isn't applied (because that's what adds html to the search path for templates).

  • Android non-full screen app startup during voice call

    Hello, Is it possible to start the application on the Android phone (starting with Froyo), when there is an incoming voice call? In other words, the incoming voice call should trigger the application startup. In such a case the application should not be full-screen, but should cover only part of the screen to not hide the native controls for accepting or rejecting the call.     Not quite sure whether I'm using the right terminology here, but Netbeans has a very nice feature where e.g. if you start typing for it will offer to write a code fragment looping over an array or list, basing it on the name and type of an array or list variable actually in scope. If more than one such variable is in scope it will guess, sometimes correctly and sometimes not. Is there a way to aim this feature at the correct array/list variable?

  • How to create 2 different scripts for 2 browsers (IE+all the rest)

    I'm trying to solve an IE CSS issue by using conditional tags. My jQuery that does the job of tabbed box effect calls an id that is inside the conditional tags. I've given new ids to IE so on IE the jQuery is not working. I tried to duplicate the script with the new id in one of the script but the 2 scripts seems to get in conflict.     I wrote my first Rails 3 app and it ran absolutely fine in development mode. Now I deployed it on my server and wanted to start it in production mode. The app starts but none of my images or stylesheets are being loaded. The Rails console outputs a lot of RoutingErrors to those files. Isn't that mode available yet?

I'm currently working on a clustered WLI environment which comprehends 3 servers: 1 admin server ("AdminServer") and 2 managed servers ("mn1" and "mn2") grouped as a cluster, as follows: Architecture diagram: http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/4112/clusterdiagram.jpg I've developed a JPD process to execute some scheduled tasks, invoked using a Message Broker. I've deployed this project into a single-server WLI domain (with AdminServer only) and it works as expected: the JPD process is invoked (I've configured a Timer Event Generator instance to start it up). Although, I'm having some issues with this, as I cannot get it to work properly, even if it still works. However, I don't see any output coming out neither at AdminServer console or mn1 console.   • Why C# IntelliSense is delayed compared to VB.NET?

    In VB.NET projects, errors are highlighted immediately after cursor leaves the line. IN C#, I have to wait several seconds for IntelliSense to highlight it. Also, C# version doesn't show all project errors in "Errors List", unless you start to build it. Actually, it seems to work differently in every way. Is it possible to adjust that behavior?

I can code simple things using apple script but you can't do that much with that and it only works on macs. I have a mac and a dell so something that I could code and run on both would be nice.
