• Killing HTML nodes from shell

  Need a solution to kill nodes like <footer>foobar</footer> and <div class="nav"></div> from many several HTML files. I want to dump a site to disk without the menus and footers and what not. Ideally I would accomplish this task using basic unix tools like sed. Since it's not XML I can't use xmlstarlet. Could anyone please suggest recipes, so I can ideally have a script running kill-node.sh 'div class="toplinks"' *.html to prune the bits I don't want. Thank you,

• What is the best option for reading Java property files?

  Hello I have an application which uses a servlet to read an intialization parameter from web.xml for the location of a property file. The serlvet then creates an instance of a class which stores the location of the file for other programs to read as required. This class has appropriate get and set methods. But my question concerns access to the properties: should the physical property file be read by each program as at runtime or should the properties be stored in memory instead? The properties are not currently altered at runtime but this could change? I've seen various alternative approaches but am not sure which is best. Thanks Mr Morgan

  Is it possible to hide certain functions/fields from displaying in javascript intellisense drop down list in Visual Studio 2008? Either by javascript documentaion XML of by naming privates in a certain way? I've seen <private /> in jquery vsdoc file that implies exactly this behaviour, but doesn't meet my expectations { __hiddenField: 0, /// <private /> increment: function(){ /// <summary>Increments a private variable</summary> __hiddenField++; } } But since fields can't contain documentation (because they have no body) they have to be documented at the top. • autoLink for map not working

  I have the following TextView in my XML layout file:- <TextView android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/autolink_test" android:autoLink="all" /> The string autolink_test contains a phone number, an email address, a website address and a physical geographical address. While the first three are showing up correctly as clickable autolinks, the address does not. Only the zipcode part shows up as an autolink... and that too as a phone number! (When I click it, the phone dialer starts up with that number). Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi, I changed the way my URL are working on my server. It is now www.myserver.com/service instead of www.myserver.com/test/service I have added a RedirectMatch 301 to my Apache conf file to redirect any access to www.myserver.com/test to www.myserver.com/. I am receiving file to this server via an HTTP PUT at this URL for example : www.myserver.com/test/service/put/myfile.xml The server sending the file don't handle the 301 HTTP status code so the files didn't arrived anymore. Is there a way to rewrite the URL when it is a PUT Request in order to don't miss any file? Thanks, Benjamin

• ClearCase: Versioning at file level

  Hi, I have a perculier problem about how to maintain a clearcase project. This project is a xml schema repository where each schema has a version. This repository is common and is used by all the apps in the enterprise. From clearcase prespective the project has a single component. Now the apps can be using different versions of the schema(s). So we are trying to figureout a way to setup the project in such way that a project can have a baseline of what versions of these files are included in a build. The only way we know of how to do this is to create a component for each schema or group of schemas and create a stream for each app to include the components they use. But that would result in too many components. Has anyone dealth with something like this before? We are prepared to restructre the whole project if necessary, so we are open to any idea. • Python/Django: Which authorize.net library should I use?

  I need authorize.net integration for subscription payments, likely using CIM. The requirements are simple - recurring monthly payments, with a few different price points. Customer credit card info will be stored a authorize.net . There are quite a few libraries and code snippets around, I'm looking for recommendations as to which work best. Satchmo seems more than I need, and it looks like it's complex. Django-Bursar seems like what I need, but it's listed as alpha. The adroll/authorize library also looks pretty good. The CIM XML APIs don't look too bad, I could connect directly with them. And there are quite a few other code snippets. What's the best choice right now, given my fairly simple requirements?

  Is there a standard site structure format? The use of this would be for export and import into a CMS or framework to define the urls, content, metadata for a website.   I am a passionate software developer and greatly enjoy programming. However I was recently contacted regarding a developer lead position for a government job at NYC for the fire department. The pay is pretty good, and I would assume the position has good job security and stability. But I am hesitant to even go for an interview as it seems like an exaggerated version of Office Space with a lot of Bureaucracy and mindless paper work.   Hi, I have a simple PHP-based XSLT trasform code that looks like that: $xsl = new XSLTProcessor(); $xsl->registerPHPFunctions(); $xsl->setParameter("","searchterms", $searchterms); $xsl->importStylesheet($xslDoc); echo $xsl->transformToXML($doc); The code passes the variable $searchterms, which contains a string, as a parameter to the XSLT style sheet which in turns uses it as a text: <title>search feed for <xsl:value-of select="$searchterms"/></title> This works fine until you try to pass a string with mixes in it, say: $searchterms = '"some"'." text's quotes are mixed." In that point the XSLT processor screams: Cannot create XPath expression (string contains both quote and double-quotes) What is the correct way to safely pass arbitrary strings as input to XSLT? Note that these strings will be used as a text value in the resulting XML and not as an XPATH paramater. Thanks, Boaz

• WWSAPI and setting "soapenv:Header" values

  I'm trying to connect to a web service from a C++ app using WWS. I got the base connection working just fine. My XML message has two parts though, a header (soapenv:Header) and a body (soapenv:Body). the generated functions only fill in the body. How do I set the Header information? I assumed it has something to do with WsSetHeader() or WsAddCustomHeader() but can't seam to find the right values to use in the parameters. Can someone point me in the right direction here? I've been googling and trying to research this now for several days and am finding many sources for basic help with WWSAPI, but nothing seams to go deeper into how to use it for more advanced applications. any good links or resources to find more advanced help on WWSAPI? It has an explicit zero-arg constructor that simply calls super(). However, when GWT starts up, I get this error: 00:00:18.359 [ERROR] Rebind result 'com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel.ValidatingFileUpload' has no default (zero argument) constructors. java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: com.mystuff.mypackage.FileUploadPanel$ValidatingFileUpload.<init>() Any idea what might be going wrong here?

  I'm creating a composite uibinder widget with a Label and a TextBox. The intented use is: <x:XTextBox ui:field="fieldName" label="a caption" > The text to be put in the box. </x:XTextBox> I've found how to catch the label with a custom @UiConstructor constructor, I might add another parameter to the constructor, but I would like to know how to get the text from the xml, just like the GWT tag <g:Label>a caption</g:Label> does. • Getting Out Of Memory: Java heap space, but while viewing heap space it max uses 50 MB

  Hi! I'm using ASANT to run a xml file which points to a NARS.jar file. (i do not have the project file of the NARS.jar) I'm getting "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space. I used VisualVM to look at the heap while running the NARS.jar, and it says that it max uses 50 MB of the heapspace. I've set the initial and max size of heapspace to 512 MB. Does anyone have an ide of what could be wrong? I got 1 GB physical Memory and created a 5 GB pagefile (for test purpose). Thanks in advance.

• Ivy deletion of unwanted (older) artifacts from Ivy cache

  I have a local Artifactory repository in which I have two jars for commons-logging: one for version 1.0.4 and one for version 1.1.1. I'm experimenting with using Ivy to download the older one with an ant task (with the proper dependency tag in ivy.xml), and then I change the "rev" attribute of this dependency tag to 1.1.1. When using ivy:resolve in ant, this newer jar gets successfully downloaded to my cache, but the older one is not deleted automatically, and I'd like to make this happen. I can't figure out how to do so after looking at the Ivy documentation; does anyone know how to get Ivy to delete old versions of artifacts when newer ones are downloaded, either with the resolve task or something else?

• Can Core Data be used on Linux?

  This might be a stupid question, but I was wondering whether or not you can use the Core Data libraries on Linux at all? I'm planning how to build the server side of an iPhone app that I'm working on, and have found that you can use PyObjC to get access to Core Data in a Python environment, e.g. use Core Data in a TurboGears web application. At this point I'm thinking that you would have to run the web server on Mac OSX, because I can't find any evidence on the internet that you can access the Objective-C libraries on Linux. I've always written webapps on Linux but will obviously make the jump to an OSX server if it allows me to use the same datastore implementation on the iPhone and the server, the only job remaining being the Core Data <- Web Services XML translation that has to happen on the wire.

• Flash CS5 and dynamic textfields

  I have a "shell" that started life in Flash CS3 (Flash 9, AS3) that has been since used with CS4 and now CS5. It creates TextFields in ActionScript for display (reading the content of those fields from XML). The text fields are either Myriad Pro Regular or Myriad Pro Semibold, both are embedded in the SWF from the Library (any given text field will only use one of those fonts) and using Advanced anti-aliasing. Once a FLA goes into CS5 is still has the same problem when saved back into CS4. The problem is the spacing between letters are now quite random, and the width of each text field is too wide (by about 10%). Changing the letterSpacing property (to something negative) makes this more noticeable. I read on here about Font.registerFont(MyriadPro) but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. Does anyone know how to make CS5 behave like previous versions of Flash? I'm using Flash Professional on Snow Leopard (as part of CS5 Web Premium).

  I've having problems with resource filtering using m2eclipse Maven support in Eclipse. It seems that filtering only takes place on resources that have changed. This is fundamentally flawed because, if I have a file that references properties (e.g. ${my.property}, if the value of the property changes, the filtering will only be performed if the referencing file is also modified - if I only change the property value (in my pom.xml), the filtering is not applied to the files that that reference it. So, if I make a change to a property in my pom file, the filtering is not applied. However, if I then go to the file that references that property (e.g. a Spring config file) then edit and save it, the filtering is applied. I did read somewhere that: "m2eclipse skips filtering if there were no resource changes during incremental build" I'm using m2eclipse 0.10.x Has anyone else come across this? Thanks, Andrew

• Accessing PerSession service simultaneously in WCF using C#

  1.) I have a main method Processing, which takes string as an arguments and that string contains some x number of tasks. 2.) I have another method Status, which keeps track of first method by using two variables TotalTests and CurrentTest. which will be modified every time with in a loop in first method(Processing). 3.) When more than one client makes a call parallely to my web service to call the Processing method by passing a string, which has different tasks will take more time to process. so in the mean while clients will be using a second thread to call the Status method in the webservice to get the status of the first method. 4.) when point number 3 is being done all the clients are supposed to get the variables(TotalTests,CurrentTest) parallely with out being mixed up with other client requests. 5.) The code that i have provided below is getting mixed up variables results for all the clients when i make them as static. If i remove static for the variables then clients are just getting all 0's for these 2 variables and i am unable to fix it. Please take a look at the below code. • Tracking finger move in order to rotate a triangle : tracking is not perfect

  I've written a custom view, with the OpenGL_1 technology, in order to let user rotate a red triangle just by dragging it along x axis. (Will give a rotation around Y axis). It works, but there is a bit of latency when dragging from one direction to the other (without releasing the mouse/finger). So it seems that my code is not yet "goal perfect". (I am convinced that no code is perfect in itself). I thought of using a quaternion, but maybe it won't be so usefull : must I really use a Quaternion (or a kind of Matrix) ? I've designed application for Android 4.0.3, but it could fit into Android api 3 (Android 1.5) as well (at least, I think it could).
