  • Engineering techniques to diminish MVVM Driven Development time?

    Hi Currently we just start releasing modules for a big project in MVVM but seems like the deliverables are starting to encounter a slowness with this model, such things as the learning curve effort and the fact that mvvm do requires a bit more code than other patterns, What Programming and software engineering techniques do you employ or thing could help us reduce the effort and speed up development? things like code generation with T4 templates, ligth MVVM frameworks, use Expression Blend, hire a designer to hanle UX.     I thought I can not override generic methods of a derived class. http://my.safaribooksonline.com/book/programming/csharp/9780071741163/generics/ch18lev1sec13 The code in this link runs fine. The overriden method is called although the instance type of the base class is used and not the instance of the derived type. Now I am confused because a former question of mine Type parameter declaration must be identifier not a type is about calling the overriding generic method with the instance of base type which did NOT work!

    We have an isolated enviornment of a few hundred servers in which we use WSUS to push updates too. We have thousands of updates which to manage and push to devices testing along the way to ensure the update will not break anything. What are the best practices that you all follow in your enteprise networks to ensure an update does not go out to all the machines that will break something? We currently have ours broken into customized groups for each type of machine. There is one "Test Group" which has one PC of each type which we apply updates to for error checking. Is this a similar procedure others follow or is their an easier safer way to manage the thousands of WSUS updates?
