  • Can Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration.EnableStatic() be used to set more than one IP address?

    I ran into this problem in a Visual Basic program that uses WMI but could confirm it in PowerShell. Apparently the EnableStatic() method can only be used to set one IP address, despite taking two parameters IP address(es) and subnetmask(s) that are arrays. I.e. $a=get-wmiobject win32_networkadapterconfiguration -computername myserver This gets me an array of all network adapters on "myserver". After selecting a specific one ($a=$a[14] in this case), I can run $a.EnableStatic() which has this signature System.Management.ManagementBaseObject EnableStatic(System.String[] IPAddress, System.String[] SubnetMask) I thought this implies that I could set several IP addresses like this: $ips="192.168.1.42","192.168.1.43" $a.EnableStatic($ips,"255.255.255.0") But this call fails. However, this call works: $a.EnableStatic($ips[0],"255.255.255.0") It looks to me as if EnableStatic() really takes two strings rather than two arrays of strings as parameters. In Visual Basic it's more complicated and arrays must be passed but the method appears to take into account only the first element of each array. Am I confused again or is there some logic here?

  • Page not rewriting in ExpressionEngine

    I recently just launched an ExpressionEngine site and one of the last steps I take is removing index.php from the URL. In the case of this site, the default template group is called "site". Long story short, after removing index.php from the URL, all pages continue to work great with the exception of my contact page, which also lives in the "site" template group. Going to http://example.com/contact/ gives me a 404 while going to http://example.com/site/contact produces the desired result. In past ExpressionEngine site setups (including my own) this has never happened, so does anyone have thoughts on why this might not be working?

    So, I've run into this sort of thing a few times in C++ where I'd really like to write something like case (a,b,c,d) of (true, true, _, _ ) => expr | (false, true, _, false) => expr | ...     Hi all, I am looking to implement a WebDAV server in ASP.Net. the app will be deployed to IIS 6. I have seen a few frameworks that provide this functionality, but I can't seem to identify how they're able to accomplish it without (apparently) modifying IIS settings. My specific question is how do I configure IIS and ASP.Net so that a IHttpModule/IHttpHandler might have an opportunity to handle any of the additional WebDAV verbs (i.e. LOCK, OPTIONS, PROFIND, etc.)

  • anti-if campaign

    I recently ran against a very interesting site that expresses a very interesting idea - the anti-if campaign. You can see this here at www.antiifcampaign.com. I have to agree that complex nested IF statements are an absolute pain in the rear. I am currently on a project that up until very recently had some crazy nested IFs that scrolled to the right for quite a ways. We cured our issues in two ways - we used Windows Workflow Foundation to address routing (or workflow) concerns. And we are in the process of implementing all of our business rules utilizing ILOG Rules for .NET (recently purchased by IBM!!). This for the most part has cured our nested IF pains...but I find myself wondering how many people cure their pains in the manner that the good folks at the AntiIfCampaign suggest (see an example here) by creating numerous amounts of abstract classes to represent a given scenario that was originally covered by the nested IF. I wonder if another way to address the removal of this complexity might also be in using an IoC container such as StructureMap to move in and out of different bits of functionality. Either way... Question: Given a scenario where I have a nested complex IF or SWITCH statement that is used to evaluate a given type of thing (say evaluating an Enum) to determine how I want to handle the processing of that thing by enum type - what are some ways to do the same form of processing without using the IF or SWITCH hierarchical structure? public enum WidgetTypes { Type1, Type2, Type3, Type4 } ...     We publish server-side application to our customer workstation and customer's security guys are concerned about configuration connection strings safety. Connection strings are stored as plain text right now, but as configuration file is not in the public/shared folder we supposed that workstation security itself is enough. What are the ways to improve connection strings security further? It is a big step forward to encrypt password and keep a decryption key on the same workstation? What are the steps we can take to keep connection strings (and alike) information more and more securable? Thank you in advance!

    My web form contains list of dynamic fields that are generated like this: <% for (int i = 0; i < Model.Options.Count; i++) { %> ... <%= Html.Hidden("Options[" + i + "].Id", Model.Options[i].Id)%> <%= Html.CheckBox("Options[" + i + "].Selected", Model.Options[i].Selected)%> ... This maps perfectly on array of controller method parameters as described in Model Binding To A List article. I want to add label for checkboxes to title them, but I have to guess their ids in hmtl layout. Options[" + i + "].Selected turns into Options_0__Selected How can I avoid hardcoding Id generation in-built asp.net mvc rules? Thank you advance.

  • does a ruby on rails rack class get access to the entire rails environment?

    that is when the def call(env) method is invoked by hitting any url, can I inside that method make some ActiveRecord queries, use classes defined in lib, etc. etc. Or is it more like an irb console without the rails env loaded? Another way to put it with a rake task example: task :foo => :environment do # with env end task :foo2 do # without env end I would think rack classes would NOT get the environment so they are super fast and don't take all the overhead of a normal rails request. But that doesn't seem to be the case. I CAN make ActiveRecord queries inside my rack class. So what is the advantage of rack then?

  • Bash loop command until file contains n duplicate entries (lines)

    Hello, I'm writing a script and I need to create a loop that will execute same commands until file does contain a specified number of duplicate entries. For example, with each loop I will echo random string to file results. And I want loop to stop when there are 10 lines of of the same string. I thought of something like while [ `some command here (maybe using uniq)` -lt 10 ] do command1 command2 command3 done Do you have any idea how can this problem be solved? Using grep can't be done since I don't know what string I need to look for. Thank you for your suggestions.

Category view is the new view introduced in Windows Vista for the Control Panel: Is there a third party control or a way (via API) to create a ListView which mimics the behavior of the Windows 7 Control Panel? Categories with icons and action links. Separate events for Category Click and Action Click. One or two column layout Separators between action links or lines EDIT: Seems like Windows is using a TreeView (SysTreeView32) control internally for this.

In my form, a multi-select element gets its options from a model, which gets the data from the database. public function init() { $this->addElement('select', 'Region_ID', array('multiOptions' => $this->getRegions())); } protected function getRegions() { $mapper = new Model_RegionMapper(); return $mapper->getFormSelectData(); //this method will try to connect to a database (or get another object that will connect to the database) } I tried copying the example in the PHPUnit documentation, but it doesn't seem to be working. public function setUp() { $stub = $this->getMock('Model_RegionMapper'); $stub->expects($this->any()) ->method('getFormSelectData') ->will($this->returnValue(array('testdata'))); } public function testFoo() { //this will fail $form = new My_Form(); } The test fails because it is trying to find a table in the database that doesn't exist. But I don't want it to connect to the database at all. How do I correctly stub/mock this method so that it doesn't call the database?

  • Why do people develop emotional attachments for programming languages?

    Aside from people who actually developed the languages, I really don't get how someone can develop passion/attachment/perhaps even obsession for a programming language... yet not a day goes by that I don't see a programmer exhibiting this behavior on the internet. I understand how people can feel this way regarding spoken languages - but there's a whole boatload of culture, history, etc that come attached with them. By comparison, the "Python Culture" (as an example) is so small as to be wholly insignificant. Does everyone have a language they love? Am I the odd one out? The dirty polygamist? Are these people rational or silly?

  • Selenium: How to click an HTML button element?

    I have button on the page that being used as a link to another page. So when the user clicks the button they are redirected to the right page. I am using the Selenium extension for PHPUnit and I would like to test that the button is correctly redirecting the user. Here is the HTML that I am trying to test: <button onclick="window.location='/sponsor';" value="Continue" type="button" id="sponsorContinue" name="sponsorContinue">Continue</button> I have tried a lot of different approaches to click the button, but I can't seem to get any of them to work: $this->click("//button[@id='sponsorContinue']"); This command executes and does not throw any errors, but the page isn't redirected. It works fine when I manually click the button. What should I do?

Html layout looks more clear to me after that. Do you apply C# formatting rules to <% % html injections "}" should be on a new line or manage layout in different way? Thank you in advance!

  • removing contents of div using Jquery "empty" doesn't work

    I'm trying to remove contents of particular div which are basically list items and a heading by using jquery empty so that I could replace with new contents. What happens when I run the code is, the whole div element blinked and flash the replaced content and then the old one reappear. Can anyone tell me what am I doing wrong?     When you submit a form, disabled form fields are not submitted in the request. So if your form has a disabled form field, it makes working with Zend_Form::isValid() a little frustrating. $form->populate($originalData); $form->my_text_field->disabled = 'disabled'; if (!$form->isValid($_POST)) { //form is not valid //since my_text_field is disabled, it doesn't get submitted in the request //isValid() will clear the disabled field value, so now we have to re-populate the field $form->my_text_field->value($originalData['my_text_field']); $this->view->form = $form; return; } // if the form is valid, and we call $form->getValues() to save the data, our disabled field value has been cleared! Without having to re-populate the form, and create duplicate lines of code, what is the best way to approach this problem?

  • Make TBODY scrollable in Webkit browsers

    I'm aware of this question, but none of the answers work in Safari, Chrome, etc. The accepted strategy (as demonstrated here) is to set the tbody height and overflow properties like so: <table> <thead> <tr><th>This is the header and doesn't scroll</th></tr> </thead> <tbody style="height:100px; overflow:auto;"> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> <tr><td>content that scrolls</td></tr> </tbody> </table> Unfortunately, this does not work in any webkit browsers. There is a bug report about it that doesn't seem to be a high priority (reported June 05). So my question is: are there alternate strategies that do actually work? I've tried the two-table approach, but it's impossible to guarantee that the header will line up with the content. Do I just have to wait for Webkit to fix it?

AND `type`="broadcast") ORDER BY `id`,`subnet` DESC LIMIT 1'; $netnestresults = mysql_query($netnestquery); $netnestrow = mysql_fetch_array($netnestresults); $nestlvl = $netnestrow['nest']; echo '<br> NESTQ: '.$netnestquery; Now, when I execute this in PHP, I get no results; an empty query.   • Why does Google append while(1); in front of their JSON responses?

    This is something I've always been curious about, is exactly why Google appends while(1); in front of their (private) JSON responses. For example, here's a response while turning a calendar on and off in Google Calendar: while(1);[['u',[['smsSentFlag','false'],['hideInvitations','false'],['remindOnRespondedEventsOnly','true'],['hideInvitations_remindOnRespondedEventsOnly','false_true'],['Calendar ID stripped for privacy','false'],['smsVerifiedFlag','true']]]] I would assume this is to prevent people from doing an eval() on it, but all you'd really have to do is replace the while and then you'd be set. I would assume eval prevention is to make sure people write safe JSON parsing code. I've seen this used in a couple other places, too, but a lot more so with Google (Mail, Calendar, Contacts, etc.) Strangely enough, Google Docs starts with &&&START&&& instead, and Google Contacts seems to start with while(1); &&&START&&&. Does anyone know what's going on here?

  • How do I compile on linux to share with all distributions?

    I compiled a PHP extension on Fedora Core 12, but when I send it to someone using CentOS they get the error: "ELF file OS ABI invalid" I'm not sure what causes this running file provides the following info: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64, version 1 (GNU/Linux), not stripped An extension that loads fine provides the following from file: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), not stripped So it seems I need to generate a SYSV type file for some distributions, instead of a GNU/LINUX file, no idea how though. Any pointers? Also should I be statically linking?

I also wanted to add that I can't have multiple forms on my website as it disrupts the loginview. So my 2 seperate 'forms' are really just a loginview and then an asp:textbox and asp:button by themselves without a form.
