• Conditionals in Antlr String Templates

  We are using Antlr StringTemplates to give control over how a Entity's Name is output. The basic Stringtemplate is $FirstName$ $Initial$ $LastName$, $Suffix$, $Degree$ I want to add some smarts to that template so that the commas are only output when necessary i.e. The first comma is only output when there is a Suffix or Degree and the second commas is only output if there is a suffix. I tried the following template string bit it does not work. • Android - How to scan Access Points and select strongest signal?

  I am currently trying to write a class in Android that will Scan for access points, calculate which access point has the best signal and then connect to that access point. So the application will be able to scan on the move and attach to new access points on the go. I have the scanning and calculation of the best signal working. But when it comes to attaching to the best access point I am having trouble. It appears that enableNetwork(netid, othersTrueFalse) is the only method for attaching to an Access point but this causes problems as from my Scan Results I am not able to get the id of the access point with the strongest signal. • Pressing p in dash results in weird B

  Today I tried to open Skype in my dash and discovered that my "p" key does not work properly. Instead of p I get B. In every other application the key works properly. When I copy the text "skyBe" from dash into another application it sais "skype". I tried every other character and they seem fine, it's only the "p" key. I think that the problem is dash. Anyone else has the same problem? Here is an image. I enter "skype" and get this: What causes this problem and how can I fix it? • Customizing Google Sites look and feel

  I find the site layout and theming capabilities in Google Sites (found in the Manage Site screen) very limited; for instance, I do not seem to be able to place the horizontal navigation buttons directly to the right of the logo and to customize their style, as well as to use the standard trick of making a horizontally stretchable background image of a box with rounded corners by splitting it into three parts and replicating the middle one, etc. Am I missing something? Are there any advanced settings available? Thanks.

  For example, I alter a column in a table to be not null from null. I need to then delete and readd the table. That part is pretty clear. What about views, functions, and stored procedures that access the table, especially that column in the table? I've tried running diffs against the files generated by SQLMetal with some limited success, but even with that it's fairly unclear. I know there is at least one commercial tool out there that claims to address this problem, but I am looking for something free. How are people dealing with this issue?

• Postgresql 8.4 reading OID style BLOBs with Hibernate

  I am getting this weird case when querying Postgres 8.4 for some records with Blobs (of type OIDs) with Hibernate. The query does return all right but when my code wants to read the content of the BLOB with the simple code below, it gets 0 bytes back public static byte[] readBlob(Blob blob) throws Exception { InputStream is = null; try { is = blob.getBinaryStream(); return org.apache.commons.io.IOUtils.toByteArray(is); } finally { if (is != null) try { is.close(); } catch(Exception e) {} } } Funny think is that I am getting this behavior only since I've started adding more then one such records to the table. DirectX bypasses everything and talks directly to the device driver, thus GDI and other usual methods won't work - unless Aero is disabled (or unavailable), all that appears is a black rectangle at the top left of the screen. I have tried what other have suggested on several forums, using DirectX to get the back buffer and save it, but I get the same result: device-GetFrontBufferData(0, surface); D3DXSaveSurfaceToFile("fileName", D3DXIFF_BMP, surface, NULL, NULL); Is there any way to get a screenshot of another full-screen DirectX application when Aero is enabled?

• WMI: Editing the Registry Remotely

  I'm trying to use the following code (poorly written, but it's just a proof of concept) to edit the registry of a computer on a domain. I have a domain account, and I've verified that the domain admin group is present in the local admin group on the machines I'm attempting to affect. I've connected to these other machines to perform other administrative type tasks, so I'm sure that I have administrative privileges on these hosts. All of StdRegProv's "get" methods work fine (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa393664%28VS.85%29.aspx) but the "set" or "create" methods as well as check access all return "5" which is "Error_Access_Denied" according to winerror.h. So there's the problem: why do I get access denied when attempting to modify the registry? If anyone can help me figure this out, you'd have my utmost appreciation! I almost forgot, when I fire up Visual Studio in admin mode on my local machine and run the code against the local machine, it works flawlessly. I am building a food blog network for a bunch of cities in the US, and I want to my city pages to be independently running blogs themselves. So basically... Home Page - Its own blog with its own users, talking about Food in general Dallas Page (child of home page) - Its own blog with its own users Chicago Page ..... so on and so forth. The web layout and design will be all the same, but just trying to achieve 25~50 independent blogs on one domain. How can I achieve this? • How to create multiple tables with the same schema using SQLite jdbc

  I want to split a large table horizontally, and I would like to make sure that all three of them have the same schema. This is bad, because if I decide to change the schema later (which will most certainly happen), I will have to change it three times, which begs for errors, so I would like a way to make sure that the other tables have the same schema without explicitly writing it again. I can use: statement .executeUpdate("CREATE TABLE AnnotationsBiologicalProcess AS SELECT * FROM AnnotationsMolecularFunction"); to create the other tables with the same columns, but the constraints are not aplied. I could of course just generate the same query-string three times with different table-names in Java, but I would like to know if there is an SQL-way of achieving this.

  I have an entityDao that is inherbited by everyone of my objectDaos. I am using Dynamic Linq and trying to get some generic queries to work. Guid's can't be compared? I tried == as well but same error. What's even moreso confusing is that every example of Dynamic Linq I have seen simply usings strings whether using the parameterized where predicate or this one I have commented out: //.Where(getProperty & "==" & CStr(getValue)) With or without the Cstr, many datatypes don't work with this format. I tried setting the getValue to a string instead of an object as well, but then I just get different errors (such as a multiword string would stop comparison after the first word). What am I missing to make this work with GUIDs and/or any data type? Ideally I would like to be able to just pass in a string for getValue (as I have seen for every other dynamic LINQ example) instead of the object and have it work regardless of the data Type of the column.

  I'm creating a thread that looks for a window. When it finds the window, it overrides its windowproc, and handles WM_COMMAND and WM_CLOSE. But I am seeing two instances of bad behavior in order of badness: If I do not close the dialog within a minute or so, the app crashes. Is this because the thread is getting garbage collected? This would kind of make sense, as far as GC can tell the thread is done? If this is the case, (and I don't know that it is), how can I make the thread stay around as long as the dialog is around? If I immediately close the dialog with the 'X' button (WM_CLOSE) the app crashes. I believe its crashing in the windowproc, but I can't get a breakpoint in there. I'm getting an AccessViolationException, The exception says "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." Its a race condition, but of what I don't know. FYI, I had been reseting the old windowproc once I processed the commands, but that was crashing even more often! Any ideas on how I can solve these issues?
