  • Kill a node in dojo.dnd.source ?

    - by Soulhuntre
Related to my SO issue at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3010996/dojo-extending-dojo-dnd-source-move-not-happening-ideas/3012518#3012518 I am now almost done. I have a dnd.Source derived class - we can consider it a dnd.Source for now, that has within it a node that has a specific class. function declare_mockupSmartDndUl(){ dojo.require("dojo.dnd.Source"); dojo.provide("mockup.SmartDndUl"); dojo.declare("mockup.SmartDndUl", dojo.dnd.Source, { markupFactory: function(params, node){ //params._skipStartup = true; return new mockup.SmartDndUl(node, params); }, onDropExternal: function(source, nodes, copy){ console.debug('onDropExternal called...'); // dojo.destroy(this.getAllNodes().query(".dndInstructions")); this.inherited(arguments); var x = source.getAllNodes().length; if( x == 0 ){ newnode = document.createElement('li'); newnode.innerHTML = "Hello!"; dojo.addClass(newnode,"dndInstructions"); source.node.appendChild(newnode); } return true; // return dojo.dnd.Source.prototype.onDropExternal.call(this, source, nodes, copy); } }); } You can see the place I mean from the dojo.destroy that is commented out because it was totally n00b :) If I do this var y = this.getAllNodes().query(".dndInstructions") the nodelist in y absolutely does contain the node. Now I need t kill it, nuke it - get it out of there. Out of the dnd.Source, out of the DOM... gone. Any ideas how to do it safely? It will be the ONLY node in the list at the time we do whatever it is we are goign to do to kill the thing. Thanks!

  • Does jQuery ajaxSetup method not work with $.get or $.post?

    - by Justin Poliey
Does the jQuery $.ajaxSetup method not respect the data field in the options hash when $.post or $.get is called? For example, I might have this code: $.ajaxSetup({ data: { persist: true } }); Then, to send a POST request, I would call this: $.post("/create/something", { name: "foo" }); I was expecting the actual POST data to look like this: { persist: true, name: "foo" } but the only data sent by $.post is { name: "foo" }. Is there any way to get the expected behavior? I'm using jQuery 1.4.1.

  • Post Loading ads - using appendChild to move an IFRAME with text link ads

    - by Prem
I have changed code around to basically load an add the bottom of the page in a hidden div and attached an onload event handler that called document.getElementById(xxx).appendChild() to take the hidden ad and move it into the right spot in my page. This works GREAT.. however when the ad is a text ad it AFTER i move the ad there is nothing in the rendered Iframe. I did tests to see what it looks like before i move it and sure enough the text links load in the IFRAME but the second i do the appendChild call to move the div that contains the ad i seem to loose the contents of the Iframe. Any ideas whats going on <div id="myad" style="display: none;"> GA_googleFillSlot("MyADSlotName"); </div> <script> window.onload = function() { // leader board document.getElementById('adplaceholder').appendChild(document.getElementById('myAd')); document.getElementById('myAd').style.display = ''; </script> UPDATE: I think what the problem here is that on text ads google writes to the iframe directly inserting the relevant text links where are on other ads it uses the iframe to just point to some src. seems like when i do the appendchild, if there is no "src" set for the iframe after the copy is done the iframe in the new location contains nothing... guess it does a reload on the src? Any way around this??

  • finding "line-breaks" in textarea that is word-wrapping ARABIC text

    - by Irfan jamal
I have a string of text that I display in a textarea (right-to-left orientation). The user can resize the textarea dynamically (I use jquery for this) and the text will wrap as necessary. When the user hits submit, I will take that text and create an image using PHP, BUT before submitting I would like to know where the "line-breaks" or rather "word-wraps" occur. Everywhere I have looked so far only shows me how to process line-breaks on the php side. I want to make it clear that there ARE NO LINE-BREAKS. What I have is one LONG string that will be word-wrapped in different ways based on the width of the textarea set by the user. I can't use "columns" or any other standard width representation because I have a very complex arabic font that is actually composed of glyphs (characters) of numerous different widths. If anyone knows of a way of accessing where the word wraps occur (either in a textarea or a div if need-be), I'd really like to know. My only other solution is to actually store (in my DB) the width of every single character (somewhat tedious since there are over 200 characters in 600 different fonts, for a total of...some huge number). My hopes aren't high, but I thought I would ask. Thanks i. jamal

  • FF extension: a popup with dynamic menuitems, with each menu item having another popup

    - by encryptor
I am building an extension that has a popup whose elements are constructed by a function call everytime the mouse hovers over the popup option. I am able to achieve this. Now I need to have a popup for each of the menu item (inside the original popup) which is not dynamic though. I have this code, but it does not work: var myMenuPopup = document.getElementById("file-popup4"); for (var m=0; m var newItem = document.createElement("menupopup"); newItem.setAttribute("label", publicdisplayname[m]); newItem.setAttribute("id", "public" + m); var new1 = document.createElement("menuitem"); new1.setAttribute("label","Home"); new1.setAttribute("id", "publichome" + m); newItem.onclick = function(){ } newItem.appendChild(new1); myMenuPopup.appendChild(newItem); but this doesnt work. • Showing right sub-ul of parent ul menu

    - by Micke
Hello, i have this html menu: <ul id='main'> <li class='active current' id='lighty'> <a href='/'>Lighty</a> <ul> <li class='sub'> <a href='/'>Hem</a> </li> </ul> </li> <li id='community'> <a href='/community'>Community</a> </li> </ul> And this jquery: $("#menu ul > li").mouseenter(function(){ id = $(this).attr("id"); $("#menu #main li").removeClass("active"); $(this).addClass("active"); }).mouseleave(function(){ id = $(this).attr("id"); menu.timers[id] = setTimeout(function(){$("#menu #main li#"+id).removeClass("active");}, 2000); }); What i am trying to acomplish is that when i hover one of the li's in the main ul the child ul of that li should be displayed. and when i move the mouse out of the li or the child ul the menu should be visible for 2 seconds. It works through the main li button but if on the child ul and move out it just disapears, it doesnt wait for two seconds. The waiting two seconds is so you can go in to the menu if you accidentaly move the mouse out of it. Can anybody help me to fix this error? Maybe you have a better solution? Here is also a screenshot on how the menu looks if it helps: screen shot under or click here

  • Cookies not present after using XMLHttpRequest

    - by Joe B
I'm trying to make a bookmarklet to download videos off of YouTube, but I've come across a little problem. To detect the highest quality video available, I use a sort of brute force method, in which I make requests using the XMLHttpRequest object until a 404 isn't returned (I can't do it until a 200 ok is returned because YouTube redirects to a different server if the video is available, and the cross-domain policy won't allow me to access any of that data). Once a working URL is found, I simply set window.location to the URL and the download should start, right? Wrong. A request is made, but for reasons unknown to me, the cookies are stripped and YouTube returns a 403 access denied. This does not happen if the XML requests aren't made before it, i.e. if I just set the window.location to the URL everything works fine, it's when I do the XMLHttpRequest that the cookies aren't sent. It's hard to explain so here's the script: var formats = ["37", "22", "35", "34", "18", ""]; var url = "/get_video?video_id=" + yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['video_id'] + "&t=" + (unescape(yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['t'])) + "&fmt="; for (var i = 0; i < formats.length; i++) { xmlhttp = new XMLHttpRequest; xmlhttp.open("HEAD", url + formats[i], false); xmlhttp.send(null); if (xmlhttp.status != 404) { document.location = url + formats[i]; break } } That script does not send the cookies after setting the document.location and thus does not work. However, simply doing this: document.location = /get_video?video_id=" + yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['video_id'] + "&t=" + (unescape(yt.getConfig('SWF_ARGS')['t'])) DOES send the cookies along with the request, and does work. The only downside is I can't automatically detect the highest quality, I just have to try every "fmt" parameter manually until I get it right. So my question is: why is the XMLHttpRequest object removing cookies from subsequent requests? This is the first time I've ever done anything in JS by the way, so please, go easy on me. ;)

  • CKEditor createFakeParserElement: writeHtml is not a function

    - by Phil Sturgeon
I am trying to write a plugin for CKEditor that is basically just a iframe with PHP content. The user browses around, selects the video they want and then they click insert. The problem is that I need to create a "fake element" for this video, as inserting a video directly seems to show up as a Flash object, and we need to make it look a little different. I have copied together some code from the Flash plugin.js (remember this is all undocumented and uncommented) and so far come up with this: function insertFakeElement( html ) { editor = window.parent.instance; var realElement = CKEDITOR.dom.element.createFromHtml( html ); var fakeElement = editor.createFakeParserElement( realElement, 'cke_video', 'object', true ), fakeStyle = fakeElement.attributes.style || ''; var width = realElement.attributes.width, height = realElement.attributes.height; if ( typeof width != 'undefined' ) fakeStyle = fakeElement.attributes.style = fakeStyle + 'width:' + cssifyLength( width ) + ';'; if ( typeof height != 'undefined' ) fakeStyle = fakeElement.attributes.style = fakeStyle + 'height:' + cssifyLength( height ) + ';'; editor.insertHTML(fakeElement.getHtml()); } The line "giving me jip" is: var fakeElement = editor.createFakeParserElement( realElement, 'cke_video', 'object', true ), It errors here saying: l.writeHtml is not a function [Break on this error] if(o)o.addRules(l);}});})();a.editor.p..."',o,'_text" The .js file is minified and I have no idea how the source files all fit together so I can't track down the cause of this error. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

  • Attached event triggering if event is same as current event

    - by Psytronic
I have a button which start/stops a timer. When I click it, I remove the current event handler, and attach the opposite one. Ie, click "Stop", and the "Start" function is attached for the next click. However in IE (7), not sure about 8. The newly attached event is also triggering after the original function is finished: Lifeline in IE7: Button pushed -- "Stop" function begins -- "Stop" function removed -- "Start" function attached -- "Stop" function finishes -- "Start" function is called. I know it's to do with the attaching event bit, because If I remove it, the Start event doesn't fire. This seems a bit odd, as I have the same situation in the "Start" function, ie, "Start" removed, "Stop" called. But this doesn't seem to cause an infinite loop, thankfully. if(btn.attachEvent){ btn.detachEvent("onclick", stop); btn.attachEvent("onclick", start); }else if(btn.addEventListener){ btn.removeEventListener("click", stop, true); btn.addEventListener("click", start , true); } It all works fine in FF and Chrome. I have switched the order of attach/detach, just to see if it makes a difference, but it doesn't. Addendum Sorry, and no answers involving jQuery, Protoype et al. Its not something I want to integrate for this project.

  • JQuery ajax request returns error and status 0

    - by Kucebe
    I use this pseudo-class to make ajax request to server: function RequestManager(url, params, success, error){ //save this ajax configuration this._ajaxCall = null; this._url= url; this._type = params.type; this._timer = params.timer || 0; this._success = function(){ alert("ok"); }; this._error = function(){ alert("ko"); }; } RequestManager.prototype = { require : function(tag){//here there will be a tag object in array format if(this.timer>0){ //wait this.timer } if(this.ajaxCall != null ){ this.ajaxCall.abort(); this.ajaxCall = null; } var self = this; this.ajaxCall = $.ajax({ url: this._url, type: this._type, data: tag, success: function(xmlResponse){ var responseArray = []; var response = _extractElements(xmlResponse, arrayResponse); self._success(response); }, error: self._error, complete : function(xhr, statusText){ alert(xhr.status); return null; } }); } When i instantiate a new object, and i use it to load a request, it always return to me error, and status code is 0. Server correctly generates an xml document. Why i can't get a correct 200 code back?

  • How to avoid double divide in loop?

    - by ignaty
    Thank you for your help. My code looks like: var CatItems = ""; for(var x=0; x < data.PRODUCTS.length; x++) { if (x % 3 === 0) CatItems += '<li class="jcarousel-item jcarousel-item-horizontal jcarousel-item-'+[x]+' jcarousel-item-'+[x]+'-horizontal jcarousel-item-placeholder jcarousel-item-placeholder-horizontal">'; What I need is that count goes as 0-1-2-3-4-5-etc, but with divide it goes 0-3-6-etc and jCarousel insert blank li's 1-2, 4-5, 7-8. How I can avoid "x" divide inside the loop? Tnak you!

  • Having trouble with fadeIn and fadeOut in IE8 with jQuery

    - by TheDelChop
Guys, Here is my site: http://www.dreamweddinggroup.com/redesign and I'm having a hell of a tough time figuring out why in gods name my fadeIn, fadeOut and corner() functions won't work in IE8. They were working for a time, but now they have broken and I can't for the life of me figure it out. Can anybody see anything that would cause the problem here? To see what I'm talking about, if you were to click on the "About Us" link at the bottom of the page, you should see the text fade in. Then if you were to click on "Why Dream Wedding Group", the "About Us" text should fade out, and when it fades back in, you would see the new text. Thank you, Joe

  • SimpleModal load external HTML page in dialog

    - by Bart
Is it possible to load an external HTML file into a variable and then use this variable to load the SimpleModal dialog? Something like this: $(document).ready(function($) { var externalPage $.get("Renderer.htm"); $('#basic-modal .basic').click(function(e) { $(externalPage).modal(); return false; }); }); An alternative solution (that works) is loading the external HTML file in a hidden div and then use this to load the dialog. $(document).ready(function($) { $('#simplemodal-content').hide(); // or hide in css $('#simplemodal-content').load("Renderer.htm"); $('#basic-modal .basic').click(function(e) { $('#simplemodal-content').modal(); return false; }); }); However if I take this approach the css defined for the external page can interfere with my local page and thus change the layout, which is not desired. If there's a 3rd solution that's better than these approaches, please share. PS: sadly it also has to work perfectly in IE6.

  • Fit Lightbox container in window if image is larger

    - by Bobe
I'm just looking for a simple way to set the max width and height of the Lightbox container and image based on the window size if the image is larger than the current window size. So say the image is 2000x1200 and the window is 1280x1024, then the max-height and max-width of div.lb-outerContainer and img.lb-image should be set to $(window).height() - 286, $(window).width() - 60 and $(window).height() - 306, $(window).width() - 80 respectively. I'm just having a bit of trouble determining where to go about implementing these rules. Do I do it in the lightbox.js file? If so, where? Would it be acceptable to just throw in some script on the page it's used on?

  • Problems calling Cufon.Replace from within a function

    - by Kenny Bones
Hi, I'm doing a content loader and the content that gets loaded needs some Cufon action. And that doesn't work right now since I only apply Cufon when the initial page loads. And not the newly loaded content. Now, shouldn't this be working? function loadContent() { $('#content').load(toLoad,'',showNewContent()) Cufon.replace('h1, h2, h3, h4, .menuwrapper', { fontFamily: 'advent'});} Or am I not getting something? I've also tried calling Cufon.Replace right after the procedure that calls the loadContent function, but that only applies the Cufon the next time I click a link. $('.dynload').live('click', function(){ var toLoad = $(this).attr('href')+' #content'; $('#content').fadeOut('fast',loadContent); $('#ajaxloader').fadeIn('normal'); window.location.hash = $(this).attr('href').substr(0,$(this).attr('href').length); Cufon.replace('h1, h2, h3, h4, .menuwrapper', { fontFamily: 'advent'}); How can I make sure Cufon is applied as soon as possible after loading new content? I was thinking about calling Cufon.replace the moment before the new content is faded in. But this doesn't seem to be working.

Simply there are 4 steps to this tutorial Creating the Table Populating the Table Outputting XML with PHP Creating the Map I successfully have completed all the steps, however the outputted xml isn't read by the google map I created. The files are all on the same directory, and I didn't change any of the file names from the tutorial. The tutorial has a step to test if the php file called phpsqlajax_genxml.php is outputting the xml and I successfully tested it and it was. The problem is that the map isn't rendering the items I have in the database, that should be converted to xml for the map to read. Any help, or pointing me in the right direction would be much appreciated.
