  • How to combine with openvpn, dynamic-ip?

    Dear everyone, I am currently using openvpn to surf online to bypass censorship. Let me show you the initial scenario: before openvpn is turned on: IP: 1.2.3.4 (hypothetical, checked by visiting whatismyip.com/) after openvpn is turned on IP: 10.2.3.4 (this is also checked with whatismyip.com/, I assume this is where the vpn's exit point's IP ) Situation: Once I enable openvpn, I can still ssh into this computer by sshing into 1.2.3.4, even though visiting whatismyip.com/ says it's 10.2.3.4. However, I am on dynamic IP, I run a website, and am using tools (inadyn in particular) which pings the freedns.afraid.org (my dns server) and updates my ip. The messed up part is when inadyn does so, my dns changes the ip to 10.2.3.4, which is presumably the exit point of my vpn. How do I get around this? (Note that sshing into 1.2.3.4 STILL works).

    I'm trying to make this Excel document but I want the AdminTimes for the same LastRxNo to be on the same line. So if the LastRxNo is the same, have one line and the AdminTime column will have multiple values. Here is a picture of what I want it to look like Any ideas? I was thinking an IF function, but I'm not too familiar with Excel to get it to work. It was just made in the Microsoft Query tool in Excel.

    this is an underpaid employee writing, who's apparently responsible for all the IT stuff in a very small (non-IT) company. Today said company got a bunch of PCs/workstations, a switch, a computer that's supposed to be used as a router, two DSL connections (each 16 MBit/s downstream and 1 MBit/s upstream) and a dedicated server which is hosted and managed professionally by a larger local company with some decent connection speed (1 GBit/s both directions if I'm not mistaken). This is what I've set up (note I'm not making use of the second DSL connection at all)... ETH0 ETH1 [ SWITCH ]---[LINUX DEBIAN ROUTER]---[DSL MODEM 1]---[INTERNET] | | | PC1 | | PC2 | ... ... when my boss asked me, if it was somehow possible to get 32 MBit/s downstream and 2 MBit/s upstream. At that time I replied "no" without thinking too much about it. Now I've just had the following idea... ETH1 ETH0 ETH0 ,---[DSL MODEM 1 (NON-STATIC IP)]---, ,---, ETH0 [ SWITCH ]---[LINUX DEBIAN ROUTER] [INTERNET] [LINUX DEBIAN SERVER]---[INTERNET] | | | '---[ DSL MODEM 2 (STATIC IP) ]---' '---' PC1 | | ETH2 ETH0 PC2 | ... ... but I have absolutely no clue how to implement that. Would that even be possible? What would the masquerading rules look like on the router? What about the server? I didn't find anything on the internet, mainly because I couldn't come up with any good keywords to search for to begin with. English obviously isn't my first language.     I'm creating a generic object collection class and need to implement a Hash function. I can obviously (and easily!) get the hash values for each object but was looking for the 'correct' way to combine them to avoid any issues. Does just adding, xoring or any basic operation harm the quality of the hash or am I going to have to do something like getting the objects as bytes, combining them and then hashing that?
