    I keep getting this error when I try to install gnome 3 from the software center-- The following packages have unmet dependencies: gnome: Depends: gnome-core (= 1:3.0+1ubuntu1) but 1:3.0+1ubuntu1 is to be installed I did install what they needed from this website https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/amd64/gnome-core-devel/1:3.0+1ubuntu1 but nothing really changed, I kept getting the same error message.

  • Recent ImageMagick on CentOS 6.3

    I'm having a terrible time trying to get a recent version of ImageMagick installed on a CentOS 6.3 x86_64 server. First, I downloaded the RPM from the ImageMagick site and tried to install it. That failed due to missing dependencies: error: Failed dependencies: libHalf.so.4()(64bit) is needed by ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64 libIex.so.4()(64bit) is needed by ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64 libIlmImf.so.4()(64bit) is needed by ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64 libImath.so.4()(64bit) is needed by ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64 libltdl.so.3()(64bit) is needed by ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64 I have libtool-ltdl installed, but that includes libltdl.so.7, not libltdl.so.4. I have a similar problem with libHalf, libIex, libIlmImf and libImath. Typically, you can install OpenEXR to get those dependencies. Unfortunately, CentOS 6.3 includes OpenEXR 1.6.1, which includes ilmbase-devel 1.0.1. And that release of ilmbase-devel includes newer versions of those dependencies: libHalf.so.6 libIex.so.6 libIlmImf.so.6 libImath.so.6 I next tried following the instructions for installing ImageMagick from source. No luck there either. I get a build error: RPM build errors: File not found by glob: /home/sean/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/ImageMagick-6.8.0-4.x86_64/usr/lib64/ImageMagick-6.8.0/modules-Q16/coders/djvu.* I even re-ran configure to explicitly exclude djvu and I still get the same error. At this point, I'm pulling my hair out. What's the easiest way to get a relatively recent version of ImageMagick ( 6.7) installed on CentOS 6.3? Does someone offer RPMs with dependencies somewhere?

  • Yum installing wrong MySQL version on CentOS 5 (Amazon)

    I'm having trouble with a CentOS server running on AWS. This is CentOS 5.6 i386 from RightImage, but the problem was the same on all RightScale AMIs. When issuing the following command: yum install mysql mysql-server mysql-devel the only packages proposed by yum are MySQL-devel-community and MySQL-server-community. Which would't be a problem, except this package is old/incomplete, because it does not create a "mysqld" service, only a /etc/init.d/mysql (notice the missing d). That would't be a problem, I can start the service by doing ./etc/init.d/mysql start, and it starts OK, but there is no "mysql" (or other mysql*) command available. If I try to force a different version (yum install mysql50-server...) I get this yum error: mysql-5.0.77-4.el5_6.6.i386 from updates has depsolving problems --> mysql conflicts with MySQL-server-community (even when I don't have MySQL-server-community installed). I have tried this before and after yum update, in a fresh image. How can I install a working version of MySQL? I'm stuck on CentOS 5 because I want to install Kloxo (which does not yet support CentOS 6). I'm not interested in Webmin, and I can't afford cPanel. Thanks!

  • Error at the end of APC install

    I need to get APC running for a Drupal install of mine. I found a fairly concise guide at http://blog.4rev.net/2009-09/installing-apc-accelerator-into-php5-fedora-core-11/ for installing on FC11, only, I am using FC12. I figured I would give it a shot. I was able to run the following commands successfully - and yum installed fc12 versions of everything in the FC11 guide. yum install php-pear yum install php-devel httpd-devel yum groupinstall ‘Development Tools’ yum groupinstall ‘Development Libraries’ Then, I tried pecl install apc. Everything looked good until to got to the end, where it outputted the following error. /var/tmp/APC/php_apc.c: In function ‘zif_apc_compile_file’: /var/tmp/APC/php_apc.c:881: warning: unused variable ‘eg_class_table’ /var/tmp/APC/php_apc.c:881: warning: unused variable ‘eg_function_table’ /var/tmp/APC/php_apc.c: At top level: /var/tmp/APC/php_apc.c:959: error: duplicate ‘static’ make: *** [php_apc.lo] Error 1 ERROR: `make' failed Some people have had success with installing apc-beta, but that didn't work for me.. Why ? In /var/www I have index.php which contains only one letter "k" (for tests). Edit, more info: I have restart apache milion times.   • Conflicts with file from package mysql-5.0.77

    I'm trying to install APC (Alternative PHP Cache) on a CentOs dedicated server. I've everything done apart from configuring phpize. Running :yum -y install php-devel gives me the following error file /usr/share/mysql/charsets/Index.xml from install of mysql-libs-5.1.57-1.el5.art.x86_64 conflicts with file from package mysql-5.0.77-4.el5_5.3.i386 etc etc for other languages So, i think the mysql version i have is too old & i more than likely need to upgrade mysql to version 5.1. Im reluctant to do this as a) its a live server (although only 3/4 domains) b) ive read ill read to recompile php if i upgrade To add to this i have plesk installed for managing domains & might need reinstalling/reconfiguring also. sorry for the long intro but its my first post & best to give as much info as possible, so my question is basically Is there any way i can run :yum -y install php-devel to get phpize working to complete installation of APC for the version of mysql i currently have installed? ie 5.0.77

My config <untrustedWebRequest> <blacklistHosts> <add name="*" /> </blacklistHosts> <whitelistHosts> <add name="www.mysite.ca" /> <add name="mysite.ca" /> <add name="devel.mysite.ca" /> <add name="devel.mysite.com" /> <add name="mysite.com" /> <add name="www.mysite.com" /> </whitelistHosts> </untrustedWebRequest> What I want is to have it cancel the request if it's any site not in the whilelist. I'm currently running version 2.5.49045 but plan to update soon. using <blacklistHostsRegex> <add name=".*" /> </blacklistHostsRegex> blocked ever site even ones in the whitelist.

I'm currently running version 2.5.49045 but plan to update soon. using <blacklistHostsRegex> <add name=".*" /> </blacklistHostsRegex> blocked ever site even ones in the whitelist.

    I'm trying to install the Python M2Crypto package into a virtualenv on an x86_64 RHEL 6.1 machine.   • Needed environment for building gstreamer plugins in Windows

    Hi, I've been strugling for two weeks to create an environment for building a gstreamer plugin on windows (needed for a songbird addon). I've installed MSYS, MinGW and Cygwin, then installed GStreamer OSSBuild, and I also downloaded the sources for Songbird, which come with their own precompiled version of gstreamer. I was unable to run gst-inspect (or any other gstreamer applications) from the songbird sources and I figured I will settle for OSSBuild. When following the instructions for building a GST plugin (found here) through, cygwin will not recognize the OSSBuild and the build fails when running autogen, with the following error: checking for GST... no configure: error: You need to install or upgrade the GStreamer development packages on your system. On debian-based systems these are libgstreamer0.10-dev and libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev. on RPM-based systems gstreamer0.10-devel, libgstreamer0.10-devel or similar. The minimum version required is 0.10.16. configure failed I could also not use MSYS or MinGW as they are unable to run autogen at all. I understand that cygwin should have it's own gstreamer development packages but I couldn't find how to install them. My question: How do I install the gstreamer packages in cygwin or how do I build using cygwin with the OSSBuild dependencies? In short, how do I get an environment where I can build a gstreamer plugin under windows?

  • How can I get 100% test coverage in a Perl module that uses DBI?

    I am a bit new to the Devel::Cover module, but have found it very useful in making sure I am not missing tests. A problem I am running into is understanding the report from Devel::Cover. I've looked at the documentation, but can't figure out what I need to test to get 100% coverage. I do have some tests that test for a successful connection, which is why I think I have 33% coverage, but if I'm reading it correctly, cover thinks I am not testing the "|| croak" part of the statement. I thought I was, with the "throws_ok" test, but obviously I am missing something. Does anyone have advice on how I can test my DBI-connect line successfully? Thanks!

  • Accessing vars from another clojure namespace?

    In my main namespace, I have a top level var named "settings" which is initialized as an empty {}. My -main fn sets the contents of settings using def and conj based on some command line args (different database hosts for production/development, etc). I'm trying to access the contents of this map from another namespace to pull out some of the settings. When I try to compile with lein into an uberjar, I get a traceback saying "No such var: lb/settings". What am I missing? Is there a more idiomatic way to handle app wide settings such as these? Is it safe to use "def" inside of -main like I am, or should I be use an atom or ref to make this threadsafe? Thanks! (ns main (:use ...)     hi, i have a dell mini 1012 which an intel n450 processor and gma 3150 integrated graphics card running ubuntu 10.10 according to the intel website the graphics card support opengl 2.0 http://software.intel.com/en-us/arti...ed-graphics/#9 but when i type glxinfo in terminal the opengl version string gives me the following OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 7.9-devel i installed the latest drivers but it didn't work so, how can i enable opengl 2.0 on this card?? thanks
