  • Drop shadow on a div container?

    I have a searchbox with auto-suggest that pops a div up underneath it with multiple search string suggestions (like google). Is it possible to have drop shadow on the auto-suggest box with CSS or will I need a script of some sort? I tried a background image but the number of suggests can vary from 1 to 10 or 15. I'd prefer something that works in IE6+ and FF2+ if possible. Thanks!

It is very similar to this first example. http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=dragdrop_7.html The problem is that event.currentTarget.mouseX,mouseY is showing the position where I put the mouse down rather than the position where I had finished dragging. I am just wondering why this could be? If there is a short answer?

Directly set the label's Content property won't work, it just simply clear the binding.

    When I drag and drop between datagrids preventing default behaviour, the cursor's does not come out of the grid. The grid's scroll bars keep moving as i move the mouse.. Even if i click outside the grid the cursor still has control over the grid and keeps scrolling as i move the mouse over the screen up and down.. Please help

Microsoft OneNote allows text or an image from a website to be inserted by Drag&Drop with an attached link to the source that looks like this for the stackoverflow logo on the 'ask' page: Inserted from <http://stackoverflow.com/questions/ask. With the QT dropsite example, I examined all the information thats transported by the QMimeData object, but didn't find something really helpful.   • Problems with icons and shutting down Ubuntu 12.04

    I recently upgraded from 11-10 to 12.04 as a dual boot (Windows 7) and am having problems with shutting down. I installed from a CD that I burned from the iso file, and to get it to boot from the CD, I needed to install the special help program from Windows that would then recognize the CD as the system booted.The installation gave me my own user account as well as a guest account. For the User account there is no "gear" icon (in the upper RH side) from which to access the shut down menu. Interestingly the icons for the Home folder, the Ubuntu One folder, and the System Settings folder are missing, although there are blank places shows these names if the mouse cursor is positioned over these areas. They will even launch with the press of a key - but no icons are visible. For the Guest account, all of these icons are visible and usable. The problem that occurs in shutting down is that I need to leave the User account, move to the Guest account (so that I can access the top right "gear" icon that has the shut down menu item) and press the shut down button. The problem here is that when the shut own menu appears and I press the confirmation that I wish to shut down the computer, the page blanks (as one might hope in the process of closing down), and then pops up with the log in menu, giving the option of logging in as a User or as a Guest. So the questions are: 1) how do you reinstate the far right top icon from which you can access the shut down drop down menu in the User account page. 2) how do you get the icons to display properly on the Left hand side (Home, Ubuntu One, System Settings, and Workspace Switcher) 3) how do you get the system to turn of when you press the shut down button! Boy oh boy! Thanks a bunch for any help!

As far as I understand I need to create some JS script to prepopulate it. Unfortunately I don't have this experience, and I would like to keep things simple as it possible and don't rewrite all Django admin interface. Just add this functionality for one Field.   • WPF TreeView drag and drop using preview

    I'm handling drag and drop events in a TreeView using PreviewMouseDown, PreviewMouseMove and PreviewMouseUp, however, there is an issue. In my PreviewMouseDown handler, I set everything ready in case there's a drag started (detected in the Move event), however I set e.Handled = true. This means that standard selection events don't get generated on my tree! What I want to be able to do in my Up event is to invoke the standard treeview selection changed event - except I cannot call events outside of the tree. So what's the correct way to do this? I have tried using the standard MouseDown, MouseMove and MouseUp events however there's an issue with messing up my multiple selection feature that means I need to use the Preview version of those events.

    Hi, Hoping to get some assistance but I am after a jQuery/PHP means of allowing a user to drag and drop files and then via PHP, upload one or more files to a specific directory on a Linux box. I only have Firefox 3.6 as my base browser but can also move to FFox if need be. Cann use any HTML5 features as long as I'm using Firefox 3.6 Can someone possibly point me to any examples/sites where this process is demonstrated? I have had a look at http://www.plupload.com/index.php but this does not work in IE6. As mentioned, would like it to work in FFox only. Thanks.

    Trying to get some basic drag/drop functionality happening for an iPhone application. My current code for trying to do this is as follows: - (void) touchesMoved:(NSSet*)touches withEvent:(UIEvent*)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:self]; self.center = location; } This code has the result of a the touched UIView flickering while it follows the touch around. After playing around with it a bit, I also noticed that the UIView seemed to flicker from the 0,0 position on the screen to the currently touched location. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    Hello, I'm trying to be able to drag random highlighted text or images on a random page that is not written by me, thus I cannot simply wrap the text in a div and make it draggable. Is there any way to get highlighted text or images on a random page, like say Yahoo, and drop it into a container that can recognize what was being dropped into it (like content and content-type) without it even being an explicitly declared draggable? I've been playing with jQuery, but can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, David

Though I have been able to do it in IE and FF but its not working for opera and chrome. In IE it works by default, in FF by using -moz-user-focus: ignore; -moz-user-select: none;. Can anyone suggest how may I be able to achieve the same in opera and chrome?

  • Drag and Drop text - What am I missing?

    I am trying to add drag-and-drop text to my Doc-View App. I added the COleDropTarget variable to the view class, registered it in OnCreate(). I added OnDragEnter(), OnDragOver(), OnDragLeave() and OnDrop() to that class as virtual overrides, but none of them are ever called. I previously had added m_pMainWnd-DragAcceptFiles(TRUE); to my App class. I tried commenting out that statement, but no affect. I tried using Spy++ to see where the messages go while I do a drag, but it logs nothing at all while I am dragging the text around in the App. What do I need? Or what else can I try, to narrow down the problem? TIA, Harvey

    I have a grid (slickgrid) which creates and destroys rows on the fly. I know jstree uses .jstree-draggable to find the external drag targets, but applying them to the grid rows doesn't work - such that I've thought of using the grid drag, and on finish of the grid drag I want to call the jstree "drag_finish": function (data) jQuery.jstree._reference($("#Tree")).dnd_finish(); The problem is that there is some null data. How would I Programatically Drop an External Div? How does jstree apply the .jstree-draggable targets? I could add the .jstree-draggable class to the grid drag helper, but it doesnt seem to fire when dropped on the tree although it clearly has the class. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.     Hi all! I have encountered a problem in a Flex application. I have implemented drag and drop support from a List to a Canvas, and I DragManagers doDrag() - with.a proxy-image. In my custom DragDrop event handler, i place a new item on the Canvas. I use the event.localX/localY to position the new item. It is working ok, but the problem is that I want the "new" image to appear exactly where the proxy-image is when i release the mouse button (x/y -wise). Can I somehow get the proxys X,Y location. I thought that DragManager would have a reference to it but I can´t find it. Thanks /C

  • Drag and drop + custom drawing in Android

    I am working on something that needed custom drag-and-drop functionality, so I have been subclassing View, doing a bunch of math in response to touch events, and then rendering everything manually through code on the canvas in onDraw. Now, the more functionality I add, the more the code is growing out of control and I find myself writing a ton more code than I would expect to write in a high level environment like Android. Is this how it's done, or am I missing something? If I'm not doing anything fancy in the UI, the framework handles the majority of my interactions. Built-in controls handle the touches and drags, and my code is pretty much limited to business logic and data. Is there a way to leverage the power of some of the UI controls and things like animations while also doing some of it manually in the onDraw canvas? Is there an accepted standard of when to use one or the other (if indeed the two approaches can be mixed)?
