    Is there a blog of preference for SEO, when it comes down to Drupal websites. I ask as WordPress seems to have the better plug-ins, though may not integrate as well. Any thoughts on this? I am asking from primarily a SEO perspective though also a design one as well. In other words, there are so many fabulous blog templates in WordPress and not sure if there are in Drupal. I seem to be having a struggle finding Drupal blogs to purchase, such as premium blogs.

    The title for this question pretty much sums up what I'm asking. I've got a list of taxonomy terms, and I'm using a view to display the latest post to each one. I'd like to also display a custom field set up in CCK just under this. Currently, I'm just using "date updated" of the taxonomy term itself which was easy to set up in views. I'd like to drill a little deeper and get the custom "event date" field I've added to the content type last posted to the taxonomy term I'm "viewing". I've got a feeling I'm going to have to write my own database query for this. If (I can avoid that){ How do I set up such a view? } Else{ What's the best practice for including lower level database queries alongside views? }

  • How do I use a custom #theme function to a fieldset in a drupal module?

    I have a module that builds a form that includes a fieldset. Instead of using the <legend> element to render the fieldset title, I want to place this content in a <div> element instead. But I want to change the behavior only for the form returned by my module, so I don't want to place any new functionality into my theme's template.php file. Instead what happens is that the <fieldset> and <legend> elements are rendered as normal, but with the body of the fieldset replaced by the test message instead, like this: <fieldset> <legend>Basic Account Info</legend> test </fieldset> Why doesn't my #theme function have the chance to replace the entire <fieldset> element? If I wrap a textfield in this function instead, I am able to completely replace the <input> element along with its label. Furthermore, if I provide an override in my site's template.php for theme_fieldset, it works as expected and I am able to completely replace the <fieldset>, so I know it is possible. What's different about providing #theme functions to fieldsets inside a module?

When I click on one of these header I would like to load the complete node without refreshing the page and display it on the left. Which modules could I use for it ? I'm currently using a lightbox (moving the content beside it). I was wondering if this the only solution and if it is a good one thanks

  • Drupal 7: Create a taxonomy term for each node and use the node title as the term name

    Is there anyway of doing this by using rules or by some custom code? I did try using rules but I can't find a way of adding a new term and set the name as the node title because the [node:title] token is not avilable. I know this is possible using the NAT module but the way this module changes the taxonomy terms hierarchy if you add a term reference field that uses the same taxonomy vocabulary which ruins the whole purpose of what I am trying to do.

    Background: I am building a website in Drupal that links together a wide variety of social service providers for the purposes of discovery, collaboration, and all that good stuff. The goal is to make a website that is simple to browse for consumers of these services and simple to update for providers of these services. The beta has been very well received, but I want to switch to a different information schema before the site goes live. Specific question: I am looking for a module (or other solution) that... Stores this data in Drupal (i.e., no GCal) Supports a wide variety of repeats Is intuitive for people editing the node (no Cron-style interfaces, please!) I have looked into several modules on drupal.org and none seem to meet all of these criteria. I've also searched here, and while this question is similar: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2794149/drupal-create-a-node-with-employee-working-hours my needs are too complex for the offered solution. Some of these providers have "hours" such as "the third Wednesday of every month", or "open during Winter months", or separate hotline & office hours. Likewise, the Date Repeat module doesn't cut it as stands currently. I'm comfortable hacking what I need into an existing module - I just don't want to duplicate effort! If you have a suggestion on what module might be a good starting point, I'd appreciate that input, too. Thanks. <3

    Hello, i'm trying to create nodes and taxonomy terms through a custom php script by using the node_save() function. I'm working on drupal 6. It's working well (thanks to previous questions on stackoverflow) except for accented letters. Indeed, when a title or a taxonomy term contain "é", "è" or "à", the sentence is cut before those special characters. For example, a title like that: "Bonjour les éléphants" will create a node with "Bonjour les " as title. I don't know if it's linked to my database or if i have to use a special encoding in php (iconv() blabla) The fact is, for drupal titles, i can not use html encoding (for example: é is é in html) because drupal will render &eacute and not é... When i create a taxonomy or a title manually, i have no problems and the accented letter is saved in the database as "é". Soo if you can help me to create terms and title with accented letters, that will be great : ) Thank you !

    What's the "right" way in Drupal to create reports? I was hoping to use a view but am not having much luck. My goal is to create a table of rows containing three fields: user name, location, SUM of volunteer hours. Once I have this part working, I plan to expose filters for Location and Date. Views Calc only allows you to group by one field. I know Crystal Reports and MSSQL Reporting Services and I was hoping to find a similar kind of thing for Drupal. Is there a framework, examples, or a module to help with this, or do I need to write a custom module implementing the views_alter_SQL hook to get the desired data for each report?     Hi, I have my Drupal site here so far: selkirk.treethink.net Each Primary Link at the top has a bunch of other primary links under it (sub links) I need to display these sub links when you hover over the parent primary link in a dropdown menu. Everything is in the primary links but there are parents (what you see at the top of the demo) and sub links (what should be in the dropdown). I'm not sure if I set up these menus wrong though...Drupal is a little awkward for me. I did download this module but I am not sure how to get it going to automatically dropdown a primary link's submenu items when rolled over: http://drupal.org/project/jquery_dropdown Thanks, Wade

  • Duplicate a Drupal installation from one server to another

    Hello. I have been developing a Drupal 6 site on my PC using XAMPP. I'm done now, and everything looks peachy. Problem is, I need to put all my content (including custom modules and themes) up onto a staging server which only has a fresh Drupal 6 install on it. I can't imagine having to set up all my custom content types and whatnot all over again on the staging server. So I ask, how does one go about doing what I need to do? Which is essentially duplicating my Drupal install from my PC, to the staging server. The staging server is running Linux, and I develop on a Windows PC, if that helps. Thanks in advance.

    hi, I've realized I'm loading a lot of resources (24 css and 17 js files) using Drupal. I've several modules installed and they all come with a css and js file. For my website I'm only using 1 additional js plugin (all the other 16 come with Drupal modules). I've not installed useless modules. They are all necessary, and they require js such as swfobject, ajax_views, jquery.media, spamspan, lightbox (modal, video and default js files), etc Same thing with css files: ckeditor, filefield, lightbox, tagadelic, uploadfield, fieldgroup, vews, taxonomy_super_select, html-element, tabs, messages... etc For my website, I only use my theme css zen.css of course. So.. is this normal ? Or I should remove all this stuff? Are drupal websites normally heavy ? thanks

    hi, I'm using Drupal and Lightbox module to display the content of articles in this website: donatellabernardi.ch/drupal if you click on an article the lightbox is displayed. However I have 2 problems with it: 1) I cannot use the libraries such as the tooltip library qTip from it. (If you move the mouse over the balls, you'll see the tooltips) 2) I cannot invert the title with the balls (tags), because it seems that the template of the node in the lightbox is not controlled by my theme. I tried also to change the node template (in the drupal root folder), swapping title and meta data but it didn't work. thanks

    Tudom, késon szólok (blogolok : ), de mégis a lényeg akkor: Grant Ronald lesz a vendégeloadónk az Oracle hazai Technology Forum rendezvényén. Röviden róla: Grant Ronald (Senior Group Product Manager, BSc.) 1989 óta dolgozik az IT iparágban és 1997-ben csatlakozott az Oracle Support Forms/Reports/Discoverer csapatához, melynek késobb vezetoje lett. Jelenleg az Alkalmazás Fejlesztoi Eszközök (köztük Forms és JDeveloper) fejlesztésért felelos csoport tagja. Fo feladata a fejlesztési eszközök stratégiai irányának meghatározása, valamint a Forms felhasználók számára fontos migráció, Java platformra történo áttérés támogatása. Jelen pillanatban tehát meghatározó ember a JEE (ADF) evangelizációban. Ami pedig a legfontosabb Forms aspektusból, 4GL fejlesztok szemszögébol (is)! Tehát aki Forms vagy ADF fejleszto (vagy akar lenni, persze ez utóbbi) vagy egyszeruen meg akar hallgatni egy nagyszeru eloadást JEE és azon belül is Oracle vonatkozásban regisztráljon itt. Fontos!   • displaying a Drupal view without a page template around it

    I would like to display a Drupal view without the page template that normally surrounds it - I want just the plain HTML content of the view's nodes. This view would be included in another, non-Drupal site. I expect to have to do this with a number of views, so a solution that lets me set these up rapidly and easily would be the best - I'd prefer not to have to create a .tpl.php file every time I need to include a view somewhere.
