  • keyboard is not working properly

    i installed ubuntu 12.04 and it was working perfectly, but from yesterday i have a problem, when i am pressing left ctrl key it doesn't responding but when i pressed Fn key it works as a ctrl key and loses its own functioning,same with the delete(del) key it works as a pause/break key and pause/break key is working as a delete key.numlock key is working as a print screen key, after that i updated my os but the problem is still happening. pls tell me what to do.

    i have hp laptop i had installed windows 8 which i upgraded to 8.1 i wanted to dual boot ubuntu 14.04 with windows 8.1 i diasbled secure boot and fast startup then used a liveusb to boot then an error msg pops up saying "the selected bootable device failed" my system boot order is : os boot manager usb hdd internal hdd so my question is that y this msg(selected boot device failed) is popping up and should i try to keep usb hdd on the top of my sysytem boot order in order to get it working??? pls reply soon

    I need to configure tomcat on Linux dedicate server only for Java project through Plesk . Following services is running on it. '1.Apache on port 80 ' '2.Tomcat on port 8080/9080' '3.Mysql on port 3306 ' Now problem is this, i need to run only java project on this server from port 80 .this time user type my site name then default page call index.html or .php file from root directory of Apache. so how it can be possible to run java project from this server default port 80 after deploye .war(java project) file to this server. Because user who wants to access my site does not know its port number for Tomcat as here is 9080 and also deploy file name. Pls look below for detail about problem Suppose my sit name is www.example.com and hosted on Linux dedicate server with Plesk install on it with Apache, Tomcat and Mysql. Now for running my java project on it, i need to enter www.example.com:9080/java_projrect_name/ in browser. So how can i run this project only from URL www.example.com and it will call default file .jsp from java_project_name directory. I do not want to enter port number and java_project_name in url and my client who wants to access this project did not know about port number as well as project name . He knows only about URL as www.example.com and when he browses it then it should call default page from java_project directory. So to implement this what should we need to do? Pls help. Thanks

  • Why do I need a managed switch and which one should I buy?

    I bought a 2nd router and I want both routers to have direct WAN access to the modem. One of the 2 routers directs VOIP traffic to a telephone line port. This VOIP service is provided by the cable carrier which also leases the modem & the router. The cable company technician told me that this VOIP line uses IPv6 addressing and therefore I must employ an IPv6 capable/compliant Giga Hub/Switch or my telephone line won't work anymore. Pls advise me (brand/model) an IPv6 compliant, 2 port, switch to purchase. Pls educate me: By reading this forum I thought that hubs broadcast traffic to all ports, regardless of which input/output is being used and so, theoretically, they have nothing to do with IP. Correct? Same story for unmanaged switches, where the only difference is that these latter devices route traffic only to those ports which are detected to be in use. Correct? I also understood that unmanaged switches route traffic simply by detecting hardware use and not by selecting specific IP traffic. Correct? Finally, there are managed switches which DO select traffic based on IP and, therefore, only these managed switches are involved with IPv6... Why would my cable company explicitly tell me, over and over, that I must use an IPv6 compliant switch? Why would they need a managed switch instead of an unmanaged one?     Oracle Text provides a rich query syntax which enables powerful text searches.However, this syntax isn't intended for use by inexperienced end-users.  If you provide a simple search box in your application, you probably want users to be able to type "Google-like" searches into the box, and have your application convert that into something that Oracle Text understands.For example if your user types "windows nt networking" then you probably want to convert this into something like"windows ACCUM nt ACCUM networking".  But beware - "NT" is a reserved word, and needs to be escaped.  So let's escape all words:"{windows} ACCUM {nt} ACCUM {networking}".  That's fine - until you start introducing wild cards. Then you must escape only non-wildcarded searches:"win% ACCUM {nt} ACCUM {networking}".  There are quite a few other "gotchas" that you might encounter along the way.Then there's the issue of scoring.  Given a query for "oracle text query syntax", it would be nice if we could score a full phrase match higher than a hit where all four words are present but not in a phrase.  And then perhaps lower than that would be a document where three of the four terms are present.  Progressive relaxation helps you with this, but you need to code the "progression" yourself in most cases.To help with this, I've developed a query parser which will take queries in Google-like syntax, and convert them into Oracle Text queries. It's designed to be as flexible as possible, and will generate either simple queries or progressive relaxation queries. The input string will typically just be a string of words, such as "oracle text query syntax" but the grammar does allow for more complex expressions:  word : score will be improved if word exists  +word : word must exist  -word : word CANNOT exist  "phrase words" : words treated as phrase (may be preceded by + or -)  field:(expression) : find expression (which allows +,- and phrase as above) within "field". So for example if I searched for   +"oracle text" query +syntax -ctxcatThen the results would have to contain the phrase "oracle text" and the word syntax. Any documents mentioning ctxcat would be excluded from the results. All the instructions are in the top of the file (see "Downloads" at the bottom of this blog entry).  Please download the file, read the instructions, then try it out by running "parser.pls" in either SQL*Plus or SQL Developer.I am also uploading a test file "test.sql". You can run this and/or modify it to run your own tests or run against your own text index. test.sql is designed to be run from SQL*Plus and may not produce useful output in SQL Developer (or it may, I haven't tried it).I'm putting the code up here for testing and comments. I don't consider it "production ready" at this point, but would welcome feedback.  I'm particularly interested in comments such as "The instructions are unclear - I couldn't figure out how to do XXX" "It didn't work in my environment" (please provide as many details as possible) "We can't use it in our application" (why not?)     So I've never worked with stored procedures and have not a whole lot of DB experience in general and I've been assigned a task that requires I create a package and I'm stuck. Using SQL Developer, I'm trying to create a package called JUMPTO with this code... create or replace package JUMPTO is type t_locations is ref cursor; procedure procGetLocations(locations out t_locations); end JUMPTO; When I run it, it spits out this PL/SQL code block... DECLARE LOCATIONS APPLICATION.JUMPTO.t_locations; BEGIN JUMPTO.PROCGET_LOCATIONS( LOCATIONS = LOCATIONS ); -- Modify the code to output the variable -- DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('LOCATIONS = ' || LOCATIONS); END; A tutorial I found said to take out the comment for that second line there. I've tried with and without the comment. When I hit "ok" I get the error... ORA-06550: line 2, column 32: PLS-00302: component 'JUMPTO' must be declared ORA-06550: line 2, column 13: PL/SQL: item ignored ORA-06550: line 6, column 18: PLS-00320: the declaration of the type of this expression is incomplete or malformed ORA-06550: line 5, column 3: PL/SQL: Statement ignored ORA-06512: at line 58 I really don't have any idea what's going on, this is all completely new territory for me. I tried creating a body that just selected some stuff from the database but nothing is working the way it seems like it should in my head. Can anyone give me any insight into this?

I am selecting the values from lookup window and displaying in scroll window and saving it to temp table. While i am running temp table i see data is saved there, my motto is to save the data from temp table to original table while clicking the save button. for that i have written... get first table is_customer_temp; while err() = OKAY do copy from table is_customer_temp to table is_customer; save table is_customer; get next table is_customer_temp; end while; but while i see the back end nothing is stored in original table. Pls somebody help me... And 2nd problem is i want to delete the selected row from scroll window using checkbox. If i dont use check box and simply want to delete row i can do this simple way....write delete code scroll window line delete event and call that script in row delete button event. It will delete the particular row from scroll. But how can i do if i use checkbox in scroll window...Pls somebody help me.. Thanks, Rahul

    I'm writing some JDBC code which calls a Oracle 11g PL/SQL procdedure which has a Custom Object return type. Whenever I try an register my return types, I get either ORA-03115 or PLS-00306 as an error when the statement is executed depending on the type I set. An example is below: PLSQL Code: Procedure GetDataSummary (p_my_key IN KEYS.MY_KEY%TYPE, p_recordset OUT data_summary_tab, p_status OUT VARCHAR2); Java Code: String query = "beginmanageroleviewdata.getdatasummary(?, ?, ?); end;"); CallableStatement stmt = conn.prepareCall(query); stmt.setInt(1, 83); stmt.registerOutParameter(2, OracleTypes.CURSOR); // Causes error: PLS-00306 stmt.registerOutParameter(3, OracleTypes.VARCHAR); stmt.execute(stmt); // Error mentioned above thrown here. Can anyone provide me with an example showing how I can do this? I guess it's possible. However I can't see a rowset OracleType. CURSOR, REF, DATALINK, and more fail.   • 301 Redirecting URLs based on GET variables in .htaccess

    I have a few messy old URLs like... http://www.example.com/bunch.of/unneeded/crap?opendocument&part=1 http://www.example.com/bunch.of/unneeded/crap?opendocument&part=2 ...that I want to redirect to the newer, cleaner form... http://www.example.com/page.php/welcome http://www.example.com/page.php/prices I understand I can redirect one page to another with a simple redirect i.e. Redirect 301 /bunch.of/unneeded/crap http://www.example.com/page.php But the source page doesn't change, only it's GET vars. I can't figure out how to base the redirect on the value of these GET variables. Can anybody help pls!? I'm fairly handy with the old regexes so I can have a pop at using mod-rewrite if I have to but I'm not clear on the syntax for rewriting GET vars and I'd prefer to avoid the performance hit and use the cleaner Redirect directive. Is there a way? and if not can anyone clue me in as to the right mod-rewrite syntax pls? Cheers, Roger.
