  • What are safe keys to remap in vim?

    So far I've been trying to use Vim in as vanilla a configuration as possible, so as to save myself hassle when moving between machines. However, there are a few things I'd really like to bind keys, such as to shorten "_diwP which I use often to delete the word under the cursor and replace it with one from the clipboard. Are there any particular keys that are conventionally reserved for user-defined mappings? The point of this question is mostly that I would like to avoid hassle later on when I decide to install some plugin or take my configuration files to vim on another OS and find that my key mappings clash with something else.

    I've been a PHP web developer for about 2 and a half years now. I have started using CodeIgniter framework to shorten development process a while ago. I developed 4 websites using CodeIgniter. It has been really tiring and boring due to code-repetition. Code repetition was vast on form handling functions in controllers.So in my last project , i developed a general form input handling function.This lead a realisation that it could get even faster by more automation. What i think i lack in my development is using CRUD & Code Generation tools. But i am wondering if there is any other utilities that shortens development process. Which web development language or framework more inclined towards code generation utilities?

    I own a Dell Latitude E6520 with an Intel CPU (Core i7 2720QM). After installing cpufrequtils, I get the following message : cpufrequtils 007: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009 Veuillez rapportez les erreurs et les bogues à [email protected], s'il vous plait. analyse du CPU 0 : **pas de pilotes cpufreq reconnu pour ce CPU** maximum transition latency: 4294.55 ms. In English : no cpufreq pilot found for this CPU. Thus my CPU runs always at full speed (2,2 GHz) which consume the battery and shorten its life. I don't either know how to activate turbo mode.     I have several videos on my PC that I would like to shorten. For instance I have a 30 sec video where I want to have the section from sec 15 to 20 (a 5sec video). To cut this, I use avconv. avconv -i input.mp4 -ss 15 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -t 5 output.mp4 This command works pretty well. I have many videos I want to cut the same way. This is why I created a textfile containing the information: input-name, start of cut, length of cut, output-name. Those are written into in.txt that looks like this: input.mp4 15 5 output.mp4 input1.mp4 32 10 output1.mp4 input2.mp4 10 7 output2.mp4 ... My question is: How do I have to modify the avconv-command to cut my videos automatically? What I tried was this, but it didn't work at all: avconv -i $1 -ss $2 -acodec copy -vcodec copy -t $3 $4 < in.txt Any idea?

  • What is the easiest and shortest way to draw a 2d line in c/c++?

    I am fairly new to c/c++ but I do have experiance with directx and opengl with java and c#. My goal is to create a 2d game in c with under 2 pages of code. Most of what I have seen requires 3 pages of code to just get a window running. I would like to know the shortest code to get a window running where I can draw lines. I believe this can be done in less lines with opengl versus directx. Is there maybe an api or framework i can use to shorten it more? Also, it would be nice if the solution were cross platform compatible.

  • how can I make the launcher disappear after notication

    I have a generally stock configured Unity 2d, with the launcher in auto-hide mode. When I get a notification, the launcher pops out and the relevant icon wiggles. That is all functioning well. My problem is that the launcher pops out for maybe 5 seconds before hiding. Often times I'm typing or using the mouse on the portion of the display that is now covered by the launcher. After I've mentally received the notification is there some way to tell the launcher "I've seen this, you can go away now". Note, I'm not wanting to modify or shorten the default display time. I'd be very happy to hit 'alt-h' or some other key combination to make it go away.

    Is there a way to reload an Android application in the emulator without closing the emulator, saving any code changes, and running the emulator again? If I make even a simple change to the layout, it takes about 30 seconds by time I run it in Eclipse and Android "boots", and I can unlock the emulator to run the application. Is there any way to shorten this time when making changes, or is it something I just have to deal with?

    Python is filled with little neat shortcuts. For example: self.data = map(lambda x: list(x), data) and (although not so pretty) tuple(t[0] for t in self.result if t[0] != 'mysql' and t[0] != 'information_schema') among countless others. In the irc channel, they said "too many to know them all". I think we should list some here, as i love using these shortcuts to shorten & refctor my code. I'm sure this would benefit many.

    Hi, I'd like to simplify the URL's to access a Glassfish V3 application by removing file extensions and otherwise shortening URL's. I've already set my application as the default application, so that there is no need to include the context root in the URL. I'd like to: * Remove file extensions * Shorten the URL to files deep in the folder structure I'd like to do this using pattern matching rather than on a per file basis (Site is small at the moment but will change frequently and grow).
