• Is there a command-line tool that could tell me if Gzip is really on beyond the Gzip 1 header param?

  Is there a command-line tool that could tell me if Gzip is on? What I'm looking for is something that can say the stream coming from the server is really gzipped even if the header params say Gzip:1 (which it could be falsely placing in the headers). I don't see a switch in curl, or wget, or tcpdump, or anything, but maybe I'm just missing something, or perhaps there is something else that could provide me this bit of information? Any help would be appreciated.

  I'd like the user to specify a RSS feed address and serialize the information from it. I am not interested in the XML format, but populate a strongly typed object from the XML. My question is, is there a standard that all RSS feeds support (Do all of them have date, title etc)? If so, is there a XSD that describes this. For this example lets say that we didn't want a users real name to be in plain text in case someone was to obtain the db.   I have a initApp.as which instantiates a class which needs to access the "currentState" property and the States array as well. However we cannot get this to work as we cannot see how we can access this information. Within initApp.as currentState is accessed via "this.currentState". This does not work in the class which is instatiated within initApp.as. The following error is thrown: "Access of undefined property currentState." Anyone know how this can be solved?
