The Notepad sample program on Google's website refers to <script src="closure-library/base.js" > </script > Can you simply download closure-library/base.js somewhere and start playing with the UI examples? The Closure Lite quick-start version doesn't appear to include goog.ui

    For arguments sake, say that we create a web application , that depends on a GPLv3 licensed component, lets say Ext JS. Based on Section 0 of the license, the common notion is that the entire web application (the client side javascript) falls under the definition of a covered work: A “covered work” means either the unmodified Program or a work based on the Program. and that it will therefor have to be distributed under the same license Ok, so here comes the fun part: This is a short 'program' that is based on Ext JS var myPanel = new Ext.Panel(); The question that arises is: Have I now violated the GPL by not including the source of Ext JS and its license? Ok, so lets take another example <!doctype html> <html> <head> <title>my title</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://extjs.cachefly.net/ext-3.2.1/ext-all.js"> </script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://extjs.cachefly.net/ext-3.2.1/resources/css/ext-all.css" /> <script type="text/javascript"> var myPanel = new Ext.Panel(); </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> Have I now violated the terms of the GPL? The code conveyed by me to you is in a non-functional state - it will have to be combined with the actual source of Ext JS, which you(your browser) will have to retrieve, from a source made public by someone else to be usable. Now, if the answer to the above is no, how does me conveying this code in visible form differ from the 'invisible' form conveyed by my web server? As a side note, a very similar thing is done in Linux with many projects that depends on less permissive licenses - the user has to retrieve these on its own and make these available for the primary lib/executable. How is this not the same if the user is informed on beforehand that he (the browser) will have to retrieve the needed resources from a different source? Just to make it clear, I'm pro FLOSS, and I have also published a number of projects licensed under more permissive licenses. The reason I'm asking this is that I still haven't found anyone offering a definitive answer to this.

The idea is to download the keys and store them using the DPAPI but I'm having trouble with the entropy parameter.   • Java 6 ScriptEngine and JSON.parse problem

    The Rhino release that is included in Java 6 ScriptEngine does not have a JSON parser. I've tried including crockfords JSON2.js in my script on the scriptengine.eval(). When I try to do the JSON.parse, it ends up giving me a script error that .replace is an unknown function. .replace is referenced several places in JSON2, and it works fine inside a browser (IE7, IE8, FF3). Anyone see this and have a suggestion?

    Hi All, I just started playing around with jquery widgets within my jqmodals in my mvc app. I know this may be a long shot but I'll take it. Initially, I can click the Add link, get the alert ("which is the prize", watching too much tv), next click cancel to close modal and get the desired results. I can, then, click the Edit link and get the same desired results. However, if I click Edit link first then I try to click the Add link, "forget about it" I don't get the alert (which means my widget did not init).     I'm working on Rails 3.0.0.beta2, following Advanced Rails Recipes "Recipe #32, Mark locations on a Google Map" and I hit a road block: I do not see a google map. My @adds view uses @adds.to_json to connect the google maps api with my model. My database contains "latitude" "longitude", as floating points. And the entire project can be accessed at github.     As far as file permissions are concerned, when you use a php script to unzip a tar file, who is the "owner" user of the files created? I'm wondering if its my ftp user because I uploaded the script file? Or does apache own the file? I know their are flags to be set to preserve the original permissions which I don't want (files where created and archived by someone else). I want my user to be the creater/owner of the files.

Someone else helped me out with this code, but I noticed that not all images are PNG. Many are jpg or gif. And still they are displayed successfully. does anyone know why?

    What am I doing wrong with this: $sql = "SELECT * FROM content WHERE threadName LIKE '%$filter%' ORDER BY lastUpdated desc UNION SELECT * FROM content WHERE threadName NOT LIKE '%$filter%' ORDER BY lastUpdated desc"; The first statement before the UNION works well on its own, but this one above returns: mysql_fetch_array() warning - supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource Am I right in believing that UNION will not return duplicate entries, in which case the second SELECT statement doesn't need to have the NOT LIKE but will just return everything that wasn't listed in the first statement.

I'm running a script from python through: subprocess.Popen('./run_pythia.sh',shell=True).communicate() and sometimes it just blocks and it doesn't finish to execute the script. Before I was using .wait() instead of .communicate() but then because of this: http://dcreager.net/2009/08/06/subprocess-communicate-drawbacks/ I changed to .communicate(). Nevertheless the problem continues. Can anyone help me?
