  • SSIS DTS Package flat file error - "The file name specified in the connection was not valid"

    I have a pretty basic SSIS package that is attempting to read a file hosted on a share, and import its contents to a database table. The package runs fine when I run it manually within SSIS. However, when I set up a SQL Agent job and attempt to execute it, I get the following error: Executed as user: DOMAIN\UserName. End Error Error: 2010-05-03 10:14:17.75 Code: 0xC001401D Source: DataAnimalImport Description: Connection "Data File Local" failed validation. End Error DTExec: The package execution returned DTSER_FAILURE (1). Started: 10:14:17 AM Finished: 10:14:17 AM Elapsed: 0.594 seconds. The package execution failed. The step failed. This leads me to believe it's a permissions issue, but every attempt I've made to fix it has failed. What I've tried so far: Run as the SQL Agent account (DOMAIN\SqlAgent) - yields same error. DOMAIN\SqlAgent has "Full Control" permissions on both the share and the uploaded file. Set up a proxy account with a different account's credentials (DOMAIN\Account) - yields same error. Like above, "Full Control" permissions were given over the share to that account. Gave "Everyone" full control permissions over the share (temporarily!). Yielded same error. Manually copied the file to a local path and tested with the SQL Agent account. Worked properly. Added an ActiveX script task that would first copy the remotely hosted file to a local path, and then have the DTS package reference the local file. Gave a completely nondescriptive (even by SSIS standards) error when trying to run the script. Set up a proxy account, using my own personal account's credentials - worked correctly. However, this is not an acceptable solution as there are password policies in place on my account, as well as being a bad practice to set things up this way in general. Any ideas? I'm still convinced it's a permissions issue. However, what I've read from various searches more or less says giving the executing account permissions on the share should work. However, this is not the case here (unless I'm missing something obscure when I'm setting up permissions on the share).

Following are the things I have in mind: 1) use high level scripting language like python or perl instead of shell script for a more comprehensive functionality and error handling 2) check that the file exists at the destination after FTP 3) check destination file size. This is a little bit difficult because file size will change if the source and destination are running different OS. Any tips on how to go about this?

    I have to query two different servers from a dynamically built query. It basically gets data from one server, treats it, and inserts it into another server. The only problem is I have to be sure it works for both situations: If both the source and destination databases are on the same server, and if they're not. I understand the concept of using Linked Servers in SQL Server, but I cannot think of a way to consider both alternatives, same server and different servers. A little help?

    Hi - i am building a search index that contains special names - containing ! and ? and & and + and ... I have to tread the following searches different: me & you me + you But whatever i do (did try with queryparser escaping before indexing, escaped it manually, tried different indexers...) - if i check the search index with Luke they do not show up (question marks and @-symbols and the like show up) The logic behind is that i am doing partial searches for a live suggestion (and the fields are not that large) so i split it up into "m" and "me" and "+" and "y" and "yo" and "you" and then index it (that way it is way faster than a wildcard query search (and the index size is not a big problem). So what i would need is to also have this special wildcard characters be inserted into the index.   • "RFC 2833 RTP Event" Consecutive Events and the E "End" Bit

    Hello, I can send out a RFC 2833 dtmf event as outlined at http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2833.txt When I do set the E "End" bit, but leave it as 0, I get the following behaviour: If for example keys 7874556332111111145855885#3 were pressed, then ALL events would be sent and show up in a program like wireshark, however only 87456321458585#3 would sound. So the first key (which I figure could be a separate issue) and any repeats of an event (ie 11111) are failing to sound. In section 3.9, figure 2 of the above linked document, they give a 911 example. Here all but the last event have the E bit set. When I set the bit for all numbers, I never get an event to sound. I have thought of a couple possible thing but do not know if they are the reason: 1) figure 2 shows payload types of 96 and 97 sent. I have not nor know how to exactly. In section 3.8, codes 96 and 97 are described as "the dynamic payload types 96 and 97 have been assigned for the redundancy mechanism and the telephone event payload respectively" 2) In section 3.5, "E:", "A sender MAY delay setting the end bit until retransmitting the last packet for a tone, rather than on its first transmission" Does anyone have an idea of how to actually do this? I have also fiddled around with timestamp intervals and the RTP marker. Any help is greatly appreciated.     i dont have a wifi router, so when at home i need to turn my laptop into a wifi source so that both myself and my partner can access the internet. however during the days i work at a coffee shop and require the use of their wifi. i'm running snow leopard and i find it stupidly cumbersome to constantly be turning off and on, first internet sharing and then my wifi. any ideas for a quick n dirty applescript solution? thanks a bajillion! I want to use mx.controls.Button class in it, so I did the following : Added '-locale=en_US -source-path=locale/{locale}' to the Actionscript compiler arguments Added 'framework.swc' to the library path But now I get this error: unable to open 'locale/en_US' I looked up and I do have the following directory inside my Flex Builder 3 installation: ./sdks/3.0.0/frameworks/locale/en_US How to fix it?

Or even find out which file is generating the variable that's passed in. I'm thinking something along the lines of firebug for Javascript, where you can select an object and drill-down to get it's properties.

    Hi, I get the chromium source and I am able to compile it fine under MaxOS X. My question is why every time I power off my laptop and then re-open my XCode project and click 'Build and Go (Debug)', XCode recompiles EVERYTHING (even I have not modified any file). Is there any way to config to compile when needed? Thank you for any suggestion.

  • Consuming Web Services requiring Authentication from behind Proxy server

    Hi All, I've seen a number of post about Proxy Authentication, but none that seams to address this problem. I'm building a SharePoint Web Service consuming desktop application, using Java, JAX-WS in NetBeans. I have a working prototype, that can query the server for authentication mode, successfully authenticate and retrieve a list of web site. However, if I run the same app from a network that is behind a proxy server (the proxy does not require authentication), then I'm running into trouble. The normal -dhttp.proxyHost ... settings does not seam to help any. But I have found that by creating a ProxySelector class and setting it as default, I can regain access to the authentication web service, but I still can't retrieve the list of web sites from the SharePoint server. It's almost as if the authentication I provide is going to the proxy rather than the SharePoint server. Anyone have any experience on how to make this work?   • Binding Silverlight UserControl custom properties to its' elements

    Hi. I'm trying to make a simple crossword puzzle game in Silverlight 2.0. I'm working on a UserControl-ish component that represents a square in the puzzle. I'm having trouble with binding up my UserControl's properties with its' elements. I've finally (sort of) got it working (may be helpful to some - it took me a few long hours), but wanted to make it more 'elegant'. I've imagined it should have a compartment for the content and a label (in the upper right corner) that optionally contains its' number. The content control probably be a TextBox, while label control could be a TextBlock.   • Speed Problem with Wireless Connectivity on Cisco 877w

    Having a bit of a weird one with my local LAN setup. I recently installed a Cisco 877W router on my DSL2+ connection and all is working really well.. Upgraded the IOS to 12.4 and my wired clients are streaming connectivity superfast at 1.3mb/s. However, there seems to be an issue with my wireless clients - I can't seem to stream any data across the local wireless connection (LAN) and using the Internet, whilst responsive enough isn't really comparable with the wired connection speed. I also find it confusing, for example, that when I enter the data by hand, the url says, for example, "....HTO=Kaiserplatz&...", but in Firebug, the same Kaiserplatz is connected to a different field, in this case: \<\td class="Start3" Kaiserplatz <\/td (I inserted \ to make it visible) The last line in my code prints the html page, but without having send a request.. it's printed as if there was no input at all... My app is almost done, I hope someone can help me out to finish it! thanks in advance
