  • Storing variables for app access

    Hi there everyone. I'm kinda noob to android so please bear with me. I'm currently developing app which uses tabs. My question now is: how to store values of variables so I can access them on the other tabs? I want to create something similar to sessions in PHP where I can save variables on one page and access on the other. Please can someone help me with this? There has to be an easy way to solve this.   • Cross Domain access of self hosted WCF services?

    I have developed a WPF application which communicates with a set of self hosted WCF services which are under same domain and I use the following setup in the config files. <security mode="Transport"> <transport clientCredentialType="Windows" protectionLevel="EncryptAndSign" /> <message clientCredentialType="Windows" /> </security> I hosted the services on a server in different domain .I can achieve the communication by setting the security mode to "None" which is not ideal. Is there any other setting i can user for cross domain communication or i have to do with some trusted certificates ? I would be glad if some one can guide me because all the searches on google directed me to silverlight applications +Crossdomain.xml+WCF but i have't seen any combination of WPF on crossdomain environment.

    Is there a way to gather statistics about blocks being accessed on a disk? I have a scenario where a task is both memory and I/O intensive and I need to find a good balance as to how much of the available RAM I can assign to the process and how much I should leave for the system for building its I/O cache for the block device being used. I suspect that most of the I/O that is currently happening is accessing a rather small subset of the device and that performance could be optimized by increasing the RAM that is available for I/O buffering. Ideally, I would be able to create something like a "heat-map" that shows me which parts of the disk are accessed most of the time.

    suppose i have this table: group_id | image | image_id | ----------------------------- 23 blob 1 23 blob 2 23 blob 3 21 blob 4 21 blob 5 25 blob 6 25 blob 7 how to get results of only 1 of each group id? in this case,there may be multiple images for one group id, i just want one result of each group_id i tried distinct but i will only get group_id. max for image also would not work.

    Hello, I have a xml where I got some empty complex elements and I need to access the attribute values of this element. <test> <a> <abc-metadata name="testData" value="This is a test"/> </a> </test> I want to get hold of the 'testData' and 'This is a test' values. I do read the document and I tried accessing it document.getElementsByTagName . I am sure there is some way to access attributes of element tags but somehow it throws me nullpointer exception. When i'm trying to get into foobar.com/dir providing valid username/password pair i get 403 forbidden page instead of that directory contents. www.foobar.com/dir has 777 rights, .httpaswd is chmoded 644. But i can't figure out why i am still not seeing contents. Please, give me a hint. There are few things I need to have working though: Each repository should have its own ACL, with different users allowed to push/pull It shouldn't be ssh-based (it shouldn't require users to have shell accounts on that machine) So, I guess that leaves me with some https with basic authentication, right? Are there any working solutions that provide this kind of functions?

After reboot, under gnome, all the files cannot be removed, their properties cannot be viewed and they can only be opened, although all are still fine under terminal.     I have a computer that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. I want to boot from a CD, in this case Hiren's Boot CD. However Windows 8 doesn't seem to like this. I have tried pressing F8, ESC, F12 and so on. I read online that Windows 8 can boot in 200ms, so that it might not even be possible to boot from a Live CD before Windows loads. I would like to know how to boot from a CD before Windows loads, if possible. If not possible, how to boot from the Live CD after Windows loads.

  • Access shell methods in controller? Cake PHP 1.3

    I wrote a shell method in CakePHP 1.3 that has a return value. I'd like to be able to access that method from within a controller, so that I can pass its return value into the View. I'm not sure how to access those methods appropriately from within the controller. Have I done it wrong? I could easily duplicate the code, but I'd like to "keep it DRY", and the actual functionality, I believe, doesn't belong with this particular controller - I just need it's return value in this particular view.

  • Waiting for a submitted job to finish in Oracle PL/SQL?

    I'm looking for the equivalent of Java's thread.join() in PL/SQL. I.e. I want to kick off a number of jobs (threads), and then wait for them to finish. How is this possible in PL/SQL? I'm thinking of using dbms_job.submit (I know it's deprecated). dbms_scheduler is also an alternative.   • Server access through switch port

    I am using wireshark to monitor traffic on a server - Problem is, the computer I am using is only a terminal wired through the switch. Main line comes into the server which is relayed to multi-port switch (roughly 50 connections). Right now I get a lot of server communication between my it and my terminal but shows no information for other terminals. Can wireshark be configured to monitor ALL traffic in this environment?

    I have written a script to create an audit trails to my database in a second one db. So far I had no problems during tests on my dev machine from SQL Server Management Studio. Problems started to occurs when I first tried to test my triggers from my application by modyfing data in it. Using profiler I found out, that my audit trails db is not visible in sys.databases, so here lies the problem. The application using an Application Role, so as I found on MSDN, that's why I can't get access to other db on the server. I'm not a DBA. I have no experience with properly settings the security stuff, so please guide me, how can I set the setting for guest account (according to MSDN) to get access to this db? I need to have a record for this database in sys.databases and I need to be able to insert data in this database in all tables. No select, update or delete I need.

    I have a OpenVZ VPS running CentOS 6.3 64 bit and when I try to install JRE 7 64bit using the command: rpm -Uvh java.rpm It gives me this error: Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:jre ########################################### [100%] Unpacking JAR files... rt.jar... Error: Could not open input file: /usr/java/jre1.7.0_09/lib/rt.pack jsse.jar... Error: Could not open input file: /usr/java/jre1.7.0_09/lib/jsse.pack charsets.jar... Error: Could not open input file: /usr/java/jre1.7.0_09/lib/charsets.pack localedata.jar... Error: Could not open input file: /usr/java/jre1.7.0_09/lib/ext/localedata.pack I then tried the command: java -version And it gives me this error: Error occurred during initialization of VM Could not reserve enough space for object heap Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit. Why does this happen if I have more than enough RAM on the VPS to run this (1GB)? Could it be an issue with the host node of the VPS? To implement this I have created some database tables that hold all the information about which roles are assigned what permissions and which roles are assigned to what user. I am checking the permissions in the business access layer. Right now I have created a method which checks the permissions of the user.     I got memory access violation error sometimes.... but I don't know where the error comes from... So I reviewed the code and I found some strange code... delete m_p1; A *a = new A(); a->b = *c; m_p1 = a; --> strange code. I think it's a little strange line.... can i use the m_p1 after delete the m_p1? It can make some memory access error??
