    The following code is returning null: private MyAppUser getMyAppUser(HttpSession session) { MyAppUser myAppUser = (MyAppUser) session.getAttribute("myAppUserManager"); return myAppUser; } Despite the fact that I have the following in my context: <bean id="myAppUserManager" class="com.myapp.profile.MyAppUser" scope="session"/> This doesn't make any sense to me, the "myAppUser" bean is a bean that absolutely can never be null, and I need to be able to reference it from controllers, I don't need it in services or repositories, just controllers, but it doesn't seem to be getting stored in the session, the use case is extremely simple, but I haven't been able to get to the bottom of what's wrong, or come up with a good workaround

  • Css3 Transition on background transparent not working in Chrome 5

    I`m trying to create an animation using CSS3 transition. The animation is a gradient background that should change his color (rgba). I used the webkit tag for the gradient and it`s working in Chrome 5.0.375.55. Looking into w3c site I see that "background-image - only gradients" is supported for the transition. (http://www.w3.org/TR/css3-transitions/) But I can only animate the background-color property with this version of chrome. With gradient the transition does not work. Does anyone managed to create an animation with background gradients?

  • What should I check in my ASP.NET application to make sure it won't run out of resources?

    We have a website on IIS7 using ASP.NET Routing that seems as though it might be running out of resources. It just hangs after a few days, there is no error message or apparent crash. We are making sure every .Open command is matched by a .Close command on the database connection. We are doing the same with file Open/Close but there are very few of those. Is there anything else we should check?

  • Generate an image / thumbnail of a webpage using X/Gui-less linux

    There are a lot of solutions out there on generating a thumbnail or an image preview of a webpage. Some of these are websites like websnapshots, windows libraries such as PHP's imagegrabscreen (only works on windows), and KDE's wkhtml. Many more do exist. However, I'm looking for a GUI-less solution. Something I can create an API around and link it to php or python. I'm comfortable with python, php, C, and shell. This is a personal project, so I'm not interested in commercial applications as I'm aware of their existence. Any ideas?

    I'm working on a contact form for my church website. The church has an email already registered (it's POP3) and the hosting company says their mail server is mymail.brinkster.com . With all that information, how can you send the form using mail()? The server won't show PHP errors. The current code looks like this: $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'From: *ChurchsEmail*' . "\r\n"; if(mail("*MyEmailHere*", "Setting Up PHP Email", "This would be the body of the email.", $headers)) { echo "The email was successfully sent."; } else { echo "The email was NOT sent."; } All I get back is "The email was NOT sent." So does anyone have any experience setting up an email form like this? My thanks to anyone who can help me out and any efficient ways of doing this, let me know!

    I need to be able to change when I can see session state. I found out about the IRequiresSessionState Marker Interface, but have not been able to figure out how to use it. I think I may be missing something obvious. Can one of you C# guru's give me a quick 1-2-3 step through? (e.g. 1 create a new class, 2. put public interface IRequiresSessionState in it. 3.     I'm using an Axis2 client to access an external Webservice, whose WSDL starts with the following content: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!--Created by TIBCO WSDL--><wsdl:definitions xmlns:wsdl=... My call to sendReceive crashes with the following error: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxUnexpectedCharException: Unexpected character 'C' (code 67) in prolog; expected '<' The 'C' is the first character on the comment in the WSDL. Without that comment everything works fine, but as far as my knowledge of basic XML dictates that comment is correct. My question would be: Is this a bug in Axis2 or is the accessed WSDL malformed? Is there any way to prevent Axis2 from crashing under these circumstances?

  • Blackberry app stuck trying to access a server.

    Hi, I've built a ASP.NET webservice and I'm trying to access it from a Blackberry. I've been testing it out with multiple devices and the simulator and it works fine, but there's just the one Blackberry 9000 (It's not the model, I've tried it out with another Blackberry 9000), and it's stuck waiting for a response from the server.     I was following a video tutorial by Adam Keys about how to make a URL shortener app in Sinatra. The code that is giving me problems is located here http://pastie.org/958644 So when I ran it I got this error: shortener.rb:12: syntax error, unexpected $undefined, expecting $end @@ home I typed it exactly as Adam said but this keeps happening.     I'm trying to post to a website from a Processing Sketch. (Processing is basically Java running in a fancy environment). I'm using this library : http://libraries.seltar.org/postToWeb/ but I don't know if that makes a difference. You can see from the stack trace below that this is just a wrapper for the Java standard library. Anyway, the important point is that the host "mysite.com" is up and running.   • Unobtrusive, self-hosted comments function to put onto existing web pages

    I am building a new site which will consist of a mix of dynamic and static pages. I would like to add commenting functionality to those pages with as little work as possible. I'm curious as to whether such a solution exists in PHP. The ideal set of features would be: Completely independent from the surrounding page / site: PHP code gets dropped into page, a page ID is added, done. Simple "write a comment" form Comments for each page are displayed using a PHP function Nice, clean output of <ul><li>.... that can be styled by the surrounding site Optional Captcha Optional Gravatar sensitivity Minimalistic administration area to moderate/delete comments, no ACL, can protect it using .htaccess The ideal integreation would be like this: <?php show_comments("my_page_name"); ?> this would 1. display a form to add a new comment that gets automatically associtated with my_page_name; and 2. display all comments that were made through this form using this ID. Does anybody know a solution like this? Bounty I am setting up a bounty because while there were some good suggestions, they all point to external services. I'm really curious to see whether there isn't anything self-hosted around. If this doesn't exist yet, it sure would be great to see as an Open Source project.

    Okay, I'm just learning to use SPARQL to query data from dbpedia.org and I'm using dbpedia's http://dbpedia.org/snorql/ to run my queries in. I am trying to get a list of MusicalArtists based on searching for the same string over three fields like so: SELECT ?subject ?artistRdfsLabel ?artistFoafName ?artistDbpedia2Name WHERE { ?subject rdf:type <http://dbpedia.org/ontology/MusicalArtist> . OPTIONAL { ?subject rdfs:label ?artistRdfsLabel . } OPTIONAL { ?subject foaf:name ?artistFoafName . } OPTIONAL { ?subject dbpedia2:name ?artistDbpedia2Name . } FILTER ( str(?artistRdfsLabel) = "Stevie Nicks" || str(?artistFoafName) = "Stevie Nicks" || str(?artistDbpedia2Name) = "Stevie Nicks" ) } LIMIT 10 This works because "Stevie Nicks" has all three fields (rdfs:label, foaf:name, dbpedia2:name). But when I try to query by another MusicalArtist that doesn't have all three ("Depeche Mode" for example) I get no results. I have tried various things like BIND(COALESCE(?field,...,...) AS ?artistName) to filter by ?artistName and I also tried UNION but nothing seems to work. Can someone point out the error of my SPARQL ways? :) Thanks! Jason

  • Using 'git pull' vs 'git checkout -f' for website deployment

    I've found two common approaches to automatically deploying website updates using a bare remote repo. The first requires that the repo is cloned into the document root of the webserver and in the post-update hook a git pull is used. cd /srv/www/siteA/ || exit unset GIT_DIR git pull hub master The second approach adds a 'detached work tree' to the bare repository. The post-receive hook uses git checkout -f to replicate the repository's HEAD into the work directory which is the webservers document root i.e. GIT_WORK_TREE=/srv/www/siteA/ git checkout -f The first approach has the advantage that changes made in the websites working directory can be committed and pushed back to the bare repo (however files should not be updated on the live server). The second approach has the advantage that the git directory is not within the document root but this is easily solved using htaccess. Is one method objectively better than the other in terms of best practice? What other advantages and disadvantages am I missing?

    Dear Experts, I was trying to make an CSS division box with content in it as well as a border around it. I tried everything. Setting up the Paddings of both boxes, margin, and messing around with the width. TO be honest, it took me around 30min to do this and I still can't get it right :( I know that a way to achieve the same result would be setting up a border around just one box. But I just wanna learn this box around box background-color technique. THanks in advance
