  • Using c# System.DateTime like c++ time_t

    - by David Boland
In C++ I am able to get the current time when my application starts I can use time_t appStartTime = time(null); then to find the difference in seconds from when it started I can just do the same thing, then find the difference. It looks like I should be using "System.DateTime" in C# net, but the MSDN is confusing in its explanation. How can I use System.DateTime to find the difference in time (in seconds) between when my application starts, and the current time?

  • Feeding PDF through IInternetSession to WebBrowser control - Error

    - by Codesleuth
As related to my previous question, I have developed a temporary asynchronous pluggable protocol with the specific aim to be able to serve PDF documents directly to a WebBrowser control via a database. I need to do this because my limitations include not being able to access the disk other than IsolatedStorage; and a MemoryStream would be far better for serving up PDF documents that average around 31kb. Unfortunately the code doesn't work, and I'm getting an error from the WebBrowser control (i.e. IE): Unable to download . Unable to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. The line in my code where this occurs is within the following: pOIProtSink.ReportData(BSCF.BSCF_LASTDATANOTIFICATION, (uint)_stream.Length, (uint)_stream.Length); However, if you download the project and run it, you will be able to see the stream is successfully read and passed to the browser, so it seems like there's a problem somewhere to do with the end of reading the data: public uint Read(IntPtr pv, uint cb, out uint pcbRead) { var bytesToRead = Math.Min(cb, _streamBuffer.Length); pcbRead = (uint)_stream.Read(_streamBuffer, 0, (int)bytesToRead); Marshal.Copy(_streamBuffer, 0, pv, (int)pcbRead); return (pcbRead == 0 || pcbRead < cb) ? HRESULT.S_FALSE : HRESULT.S_OK; } Here is the entire sample project: InternetSessionSample.zip (VS2010) I will leave this up for as long as I can to help other people in the future If anyone has any ideas why I might be getting this message and can shed some light on the problem, I would be grateful for the assistance. EDIT: A friend suggested inserting a line that calls the IInternetProtocolSink.ReportProgress with BINDSTATUS_CACHEFILENAMEAVAILABLE pointing at the original file. This prevents it from failing now and shows the PDF in the Adobe Reader control, but means it defeats the purpose of this by having Adobe Reader simply load from the cache file (which I can't provide). See below: pOIProtSink.ReportProgress(BINDSTATUS.BINDSTATUS_CACHEFILENAMEAVAILABLE, @"D:\Visual Studio Solutions\Projects\InternetSessionSample\bin\Debug\sample.pdf"); pOIProtSink.ReportData(BSCF.BSCF_LASTDATANOTIFICATION, (uint)_stream.Length, (uint)_stream.Length); This is progress though, I guess.

  • Unit Testing And Starting MongoDb Server

    - by azamsharp
I am running some unit test that persist documents into the MongoDb database. For this unit test to succeed the MongoDb server must be started. I perform this by using Process.Start("mongod.exe"). It works but sometimes it takes time to start and before it even starts the unit test tries to run and FAILS. Unit test fails and complains that the mongodb server is not running. What to do in such situation?

  • Recommendations for a free GIS library supporting raster images

    - by gspr
Hi. I'm quite new to the whole field of GIS, and I'm about to make a small program that essentially overlays GPS tracks on a map together with some other annotations. I primarily need to allow scanned (thus raster) maps (although it would be nice to support proper map formats and something like OpenStreetmap in the long run). My first exploratory program uses Qt's graphics view framework and overlays the GPS points by simply projecting them onto the tangent plane to the WGS84 ellipsoid at a calibration point. This gives half-decent accuracy, and actually looks good. But then I started wondering. To get the accuracy I need (i.e. remove the "half" in "half-decent"), I have to correct for the map projection. While the math is not a problem in itself, supporting many map projection feels like needless work. Even though a few projections would probably be enough, I started thinking about just using something like the PROJ.4 library to do my projections. But then, why not take it all the way? Perhaps I might aswell use a full-blown map library such as Mapnik (edit: Quantum GIS also looks very nice), which will probably pay off when I start to want even more fancy annotations or some other symptom of featuritis. So, finally, to the question: What would you do? Would you use a full-blown map library? If so, which one? Again, it's important that it supports using (and zooming in and out with) raster maps and has pretty overlay features. Or would you just keep it simple, and go with Qt's own graphics view framework together with something like PROJ.4 to handle the map projections? I appreciate any feedback! Some technicalities: I'm writing in C++ with a Qt-based GUI, so I'd prefer something that plays relatively nicely with those. Also, the library must be free software (as in FOSS), and at least decently cross-platform (GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac, at least). Edit: OK, it seems I didn't do quite enough research before asking this question. Both Quantum GIS and Mapnik seem very well suited for my purpose. The former especially so since it's based on Qt.

  • gcc segmentation fault compiling 20k file

    - by aaa
hi. I have fairly large file, 20k lines long (auto generated). It has been compiling okay, but after adding new if/endif preprocessor block, I started getting gcc internal errors: segmentation fault. the code inside new preprocessor block is not being compiled, so I am not sure where the error is coming from. my only guess is memory, but as far as I can tell it does not exhaust computer memory. Any thoughts?

  • Windows API Programming

    - by Chris
I found this site, http://www.apitalk.com/document.php?id=1184207999_1 and I'm not sure if this site is using ATL, STL, MFC, or just calling API functions directly. I have done console programming with C++ and graphics programmign with C++ in Borland, but I've have never done Win32 C++ programming and I'm curious if anyone knows of a good site to start with? Does anyone know of any good sites to recommend about getting up and going fast with Win32 API C++?

  • jQuery table filter with text, checkboxes, selects

    - by Jeffrey
Need to filter a table from outside of the table, with a text search, checkboxes, and selects. PicNet Table Filter for jQuery works for both searching and using checkboxes outside of the table... though I can't find any examples of how to get a select box to work. Anyone know? *I might be getting too specific here, but thought I'd at least inquire. I'm also open to possibilities other than PicNet.

  • Django 1.2 and south problem

    - by alexarsh
Hi, I was using python 2.5 and django 1.0.2. But I moved to python 2.6 and django 1.2 recently and I'm getting the following error now during the migrate: http://slexy.org/view/s2HCFJj0yL After running migrate several times, it eventually passes. I have 5 different apps under migration and I thought it can be dependencies issue. But I have no migrations calling other apps. So what can be the problem? Regards, Arshavski Alexander.

  • Websphere 6.1, Datasource, two apps

    - by asrijaal
Hi, I've got a webapp running on a Websphere 6.1 Server which JNDI lookups for a datasource. This webapp runs fine, the Websphere server recognizes the datasource ref in the web.xml etc.. Now we added a second webapp which should use this datasource with same configuration but I only getting a NULL Object when I invoke my JNDI lookup and a ClassCastException is thrown (which is correct). Maybe one of you has some suggestions?

Having already read through (and been thoroughly confused, something that does not happen often) with some other turorials I figured I'd best ask here. How do I import a jar file from the local directory? Can someone give me a quick and dirty sample program using the JDBC?

  • Is there any equivalent of XAMPP for Pylons?

    - by Skilldrick
I'd like to get started with Pylons, to be used on a Windows machine as a local web server. Is there any equivalent of e.g. XAMPP for Pylons that would set up everything with one installer? Edit: I've just discovered the Pylons web server. Could I use this to serve pages to computers on a LAN?

  • Yahoo Web Scrapes: What are the limits?

    - by bvandrunen
We are using a web scraper and have it set up to have a sleep function which has a random function set up (so that it isn't the same time between each scrape) but we are still getting blocked from Yahoo after 20-30 requests. Does any one know if there is a limit (i.e: 20 requests per minutes, 200 an hour) Right now our average between each request is around 3-6 seconds. Thanks for any help

  • Django admin fails when using includes in urlpatterns

    - by zenWeasel
I am trying to refactor out my application a little bit to keep it from getting too unwieldily. So I started to move some of the urlpatterns out to sub files as the documentation proposes. Besides that fact that it just doesn't seem to be working (the items are not being rerouted) but when I go to the admin, it says that 'urlpatterns has not been defined'. The urls.py I have at the root of my application is: if settings.ENABLE_SSL: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^checkout/orderform/onepage/(\w*)/$','checkout.views.one_page_orderform',{'SSL':True},'commerce.checkout.views.single_product_orderform'), ) else: urlpatterns = patterns('', (r'^checkout/orderform/onepage/(\w*)/$','commerce.checkout.views.single_product_orderform'), ) urlpatterns+= patterns('', (r'^$', 'alchemysites.views.route_to_home'), (r'^%s/' % settings.DAJAXICE_MEDIA_PREFIX, include('dajaxice.urls')), (r'^/checkout/', include('commerce.urls')), (r'^/offers',include('commerce.urls')), (r'^/order/',include('commerce.urls')), (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), (r'^accounts/login/$', login), (r'^accounts/logout/$', logout), (r'^(?P<path>.*)/$','alchemysites.views.get_path'), (r'^static/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root':settings.MEDIA_ROOT}), The urls I have moved out so far are the checkout/offers/order which are all subapps of 'commerce' where the urls.py for the apps are so to be clear. /urls.py in questions (included here) /commerce/urls.py where the urls.py I want to include is: order_info = { 'queryset': Order.objects.all(), } urlpatterns+= patterns('', (r'^offers/$','offers.views.start_offers'), (r'^offers/([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/order/(\d*)/add/([a-zA-Z0-9-]*)/(\w*)/next/([a-zA-Z0-9-)/$','offers.views.show_offer'), (r'^reports/orders/$', list_detail.object_list,order_info), ) and the applications offers lies under commerce. And so the additional problem is that admin will not work at all, so I'm thinking because I killed it somewhere with my includes. Things I have checked for: Is the urlpatterns variable accidentally getting reset somewhere (i.e. urlpatterns = patterns, instead of urlpatterns+= patterns) Are the patterns in commerce.urls valid (yes, when moved back to root they work). So from there I am stumped. I can move everything back into the root, but was trying to get a little decoupled, not just for theoretical reason but for some short terms ones. Lastly if I enter www.domainname/checkout/orderform/onepage/xxxjsd I get the correct page. However, entering www.domainname/checkout/ gets handled by the alchemysites.views.get_path. If not the answer (because this is pretty darn specific), then is there a good way for troubleshoot urls.py? It seems to just be trial and error. Seems there should be some sort of parser that will tell you what your urlpatterns will do.
