    I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get slammed on this. I love using the data-whatever attribute to bind events to. It feels very clean to me and helps reserve my class attribute for just styling. I know this selector is among the slowest, so I don't use it when there are a lot of elements.   • Google Maps API - Get points along route between lat/long

    I have a web site that I am trying to get completed and I need to have the user click points on a map and then work out the route on the roads between the two points. So the user clicks the first point on 1st street, and then clicks another point on 4th street, and the map will find the best way to get there and plot the route on the map. I am assuming this can be done using directions and parse it up, but I have been searching for an hour now and can't find what I am looking for (maybe bad search terms). I need to be able to plot the map manually (?) so I can calculate the distance, etc... of the route as the user continues to click. The site that is in beta is http://www.RunMyRoute.com/UserRoutes/Create and you can see I am trying to create running routes. I want the user to have the option for the route to follow the roads versus just a straight line between two points on the map. Any help on this would be great! Simon.

  • Raphael Scope Drag n drop multiple paper instances

    I have two Raphael paper instances. In both I want to drag and drop an element (circle). It is important for me to assign both these circles the same id. I expected no problem, as both are in different paper instances and therefore in different scope. What happens is, that somehow both elements react, when I have clicked both elements at least once. If I however give these elements different IDs everything works fine (each element only calls its "start", "drag" and "up" function if draged around). Is this intended behaviour of Raphael and do I have to assign different IDs to the elements in the different paper instances?     I have an application (a widget) where I use $.getScript() on a 5 minute timer, loading a file every five minutes. I then take the contents of the file I just downloaded, and rebuild my page, so that my widget can update. Most of the time, however, the file is unchanged, and firebug displays a 304 Not Modified header every 5 minutes, as my timer executes $.getScript(). I would like to sense when the file is not modified, so that I don't use up user resources, rebuilding the page for no reason. Is it possible to obtain html headers when using $.getScript()?

    in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine. whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses. i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX

Basically I have <ol><li> <span class="main"> <span class="test1"></span> <span class="test2"></span> <span class="test3"> <span id="test4"></span> <span id="special" class="special"> <span class="test4">TEXT</span> </span> </span> </li></ol> Basically, in IE when I try and make the id="special" have rounded corners - i get a distorted view. I think its something related to problems with referencing li elements using jQuery('#special').corner('5px'); Could anyone help :) ?

  • jsTree: Prevent before and after TYPE, only use inside

    I am using jsTree which is very nice. When dragging and dropping, I don't really care for the before and after types, I only want to use inside. Meaning, I am only concerned about that parent that a child is dropped into, rather than where the order is with other elements INSIDE the parent. So, I wanted to build my callback, so it always refers to the parent node that it is inside.
