  • git is very very slow

    My project is six months old and git is very very slow. We track around 30 files which are of size 5 MB to 50 MB. Those are binary files and we keep them in git. I believe those files are making git slow. Is there a way to kill all files of size 5MB from the repository. I know I would lose all of these files and that is okay with me. Ideally I would like a command that would list all the big files ( 5MB) . I can see the list and then I say okay go ahead and delete those files and make git faster.

    Hi, I'm using SQL server 2008. I have 2 Tables: Table 1 and Table 2. Table 1 has 1 column called: OldDate which is nvarchar(255), null Table 2 has 1 column called: NewDate which is datetime, not null Example data in Table 1: 26/07/03 NULL NULL 23/07/2003 7/26/2003 NULL 28/07/03 When i try CAST(OldDate as datetime) I get this error: Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type datetime. I need to insert OldDate into NewDate with no errors. I can't skip some rows. Anyhelp would be appreciated.

    function addOption(selectbox, val, txt){ ...... } addOption(list, "Cars", "Cars"); I need to add this in front of the text of the function: &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; So that there is space coming in before the option text...Never mind what it is for, it is just confusing... I just don't know how to insert it into the js code. If I do it like this: addOption(list, "Cars", "&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cars"); Then the &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; comes into the text, so it gets displayed for the users. However I need it to be interpreted as "space"... If you don't understand let me know... How can I do this? Quotes, double quotes etc? Thanks

    I've implemented 2 QComboBoxes with one having items manually inserted every time and another one having items inserted with a list (I'm using Python ) But when i attempt to get the current value of Combobox , it returns None .   • Entity Framework: Attached Entities not Saving

    Hello: I can't figure out why calling SaveChanges() on the following code results in no changes to the objects I attached: // delete existing user roles before re-attaching if (accountUser.AccountRoles.Count > 0) { foreach (AccountRole role in accountUser.AccountRoles.ToList()) { accountUser.AccountRoles.Remove(role); } } // get roles to add List<int> roleIDs = new List<int>(); foreach (UserRole r in this.AccountRoles) { roleIDs.Add(r.RoleID); } var roleEntities = from roles in db.AccountRoles where roleIDs.Contains(roles.id) select roles; accountUser.AccountRoles.Attach(roleEntities); db.SaveChanges(); In the debugger, I see that the correct roleEntities are being loaded, and that they are valid objects. However, if I use SQL Profiler I see no UPDATE or INSERT queries coming in, and as a result none of my attached objects are being saved.

    Some old code that I just came across: MLIST * new_mlist_link() { MLIST *new_link = (MLIST * ) malloc(sizeof(MLIST)); new_link->next = NULL; new_link->mapi = NULL; new_link->result = 0; } This was being called to build a linked list, however I noticed there is no statement: return new_link; Even without the return statement there, the list still got built properly.     Hi, I want to implement pagination using JDBC. The actual thing I want to know is "How can i get first 50 and then next 50 records from database for page 1 and 2 respectively" My Query is Select * from data [data table contains 20,000 rows] For page #1 I get 50 records and for page #2 I want to get next 50 records. How can I implement it efficiently in JDBC? I have searched and found that rs.absolute(row) is the way to skip first page records but it takes some amount of time on large result sets and I don't want to bear this amount of time. Also, I don't want to use rownum and limit + offset in query because these are not good to use in query, I dont know why, still I don't want to use it in query. Can anyone help me how to get limited ResultSet for pagination or is there any way JDBC is giving us?

Is calling a method through an object's constructor slower than calling the same method many times for one particular object instantiation? In other words, is this: for(int i = 0; i < myData.Count; i++) myClass someObject = new myClass(myData[i]); slower than this: myClass someObject = new myClass(); for(int i = 0; i < myData.Count; i++) someObject.someFunction(myData[i]); ? If so, how much slower?

    I am getting the java.lang.NullPointerException on createTabContent for the following code. There are two tabspecs. When I called and set the tab , changed the tabs for the first time it is ok. But when i called again while I am on the second tab, its hit the null pointer exception for line : NoStudentText.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); I will show No Student Text if there is no data for the student list. It shows the text for the first time call. I have a unnumbered list with list elements x5. <li><img src="images/justify_left.png" alt="left" /><span>Justify Left</span></li> <li><img src="images/justify_center.png" alt="center" /><span>Justify Left</span></li> <li><img src="images/justify_right.png" alt="right" /><span>Justify Left</span></li> Each of the 5 set of <li> items refers to its respective line. With jQuery, how would I go about determining which of the 15 <li> items did the user select so that I can correspond the proper justification as a post method?

    Hi, I am using a jquery contextmenu plugin for right click menus which I am trying to add to each li element of an unordered list with the ID mailbox. The code I have is: $("#mailbox > li").contextMenu('myMenu1', { bindings: { 'open': function(t) { alert('Trigger was '+t.id+'\nAction was Open'); } //CODE SNIPPED }); My assumption is that this should alert the id of the list element that the contextMenu was called from, however it is returning an empty string.     Suppose I have a 2 column table (id, flag) and id is sequential. I expect this table to contain a lot of records. I want to periodically select the first row not flagged and update it. Some of the records on the way may have already been flagged, so I want to skip them. Does it make more sense if I store the last id I flagged and use it in my select statement, like select * from mytable where id > my_last_id order by id asc limit 1 or simply get the first unflagged row, like: select * from mytable where flagged = 'F' order by id asc limit 1 Thank you!

  • Is there a faster way to remove un-referenced controls from a Form's designer file?

    I started looking into the designer file of one of my Forms and noticed that a lot of the old controls I thought I had deleted are still being instantiated but are not actually used on the form. Is there any easy way to clean up these controls from the designer file that are not being used? Right now I've printed out a list of all the private fields at the bottom of the designer file that reference the controls of the form. I'm going down the list one by one trying to determine if the control is actually used or not, and then deleting those that I find are not on the form. The document outline is useful for figuring out what controls are on the form, but this is still a rather tedious process. Does anyone have a better way?

  • Object changed while deserialization

    I'm serializing an object and storing the serialized value in db and getting the deserialization to work fine as well after getting values from db. But problem occurs if the existing object is modified and a new property is added in the class. Then while deserializing it looks for that property in serialized text and upon not finding it there, I get the following error System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Member 'temp' was not found. Is there any way I can know if new property was not there while serialization and can skip that? I'm using custom serialization.

    Hi! I have a "super entity" SuperEntity and three entities ChildEntity1, ..., ChildEntity3 which extends the super class. It's easy to search for all entities in the database, i.e. we could use session.createCriteria(SuperEntity.class); It's no problem to search for one specific entity type, too, just replace the SuperEntity with any of the children to look for entities of that type. But I have a problem when allowing 'multiple choice' for the types. I.e., it could be neccessary to search all entities of type 1 and 2, but not of type 3. A first idea was to create two independent queries and join the results in a final list - but that would destroy the paging which uses offset and limit functionality of the database... Is there a possibility in Criteria to join two different queries in one single result list? Kind regards, RoCMe

    I'd like to add a list of reviews of books to my Android app. Basically what I'm after is a fixed rating using the RatingBar and a ListView containing the snippet of the review for each review. Once clicked I want the list item to expand and fill with the text of the full review. I have the content of the snippet, full text, and rating, but don't know how best to go about the layout. Any ideas are ok, I don't need full code, but I would much prefer to keep it to XML layout.

  • trying to hide options from selectlist .. not working on chrome and ie

    Hi, I have a select lists, which has lots of option. Depending on some input I want to hide few options from select list. To hide options from select list I have written jquery like $('#selectlist1 option').each(function(){ $(this).hide(); }) But this code seems to work only for firefox and its not working on chrome and ie. Whereas if I write $('#selectlist1').hide(); it works for all browser. Any pointer where should I look at?
