  • Find multiple line spanning text and replace using Powershell

    - by MrGrant
    Hello, I am using a regular expression search to match up and replace some text. The text can span multiple lines (may or may not have line breaks). Currently I have this: $regex = "\<\?php eval.*?\>" Get-ChildItem -exclude *.bak | Where-Object {$_.Attributes -ne "Directory"} |ForEach-Object { $text = [string]::Join("`n", (Get-Content $_)) $text -replace $RegEx ,"REPLACED"}

  • javascript, jQuery: how to save values instead of the references

    - by Patrick
    hi, I'm using the following lines to store the location of an object. var lightboxTop = $('#lightbox').css('top'); var lightboxLeft = $('#lightbox').css(' left'); I'm successively moving this object in my element, and I want to restore it previous position with the stored variables. But, I'm afraid javascript is saving the values by reference so I lose the initial positions. Am I correct ? How can I solve this ? thanks

  • Session vs singleton pattern

    - by chobo
    Hi, I have a web application where I would like to pull user settings from a database and store them for Global access. Would it make more sense to store the data in a Singleton, or a Session object? What's the difference between the two? Is it better to store the data as an object reference or break it up into value type objects (ints and strings)? Thanks!

  • System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser : Force X86?

    - by heap
    This object always uses the default on the system, so on an x64 machine, it will use an x64 Internet Explorer object. Is there any way I can force it to use the x86 IE? The web page element the browser accesses does not work on x64 and is out of my control.

  • When should I implement IDisposeable?

    - by Bobby
    What is the best practice for when to implement IDisposeable? Is the best rule of thumb to implement it if you have one managed object in the class, or does it depend if the object was created in the class or just passed in? Should I also do it for classes with no managed objects at all?

    - by Jeff Beck
    I have a domain object called page that only has a title, I then have subclasses what are StaticPage that also has a textblock and PicturePage that contains a url. I have a site object that has many pages, I am looking for a way in the view for the site to call the a different template for each subclass. I can easily iterate through the pages but I would like to call each subclasses own view.

  • Is there a straightforward way to have a thread-local instance variable?

    - by Dan Tao
    With the ThreadStatic attribute I can have a static member of a class with one instance of the object per thread. This is really handy for achieving thread safety using types of objects that don't guarantee thread-safe instance methods (e.g., System.Random). It only works for static members, though. Is there any straightforward way to declare a class member as thread-local, meaning, each class instance gets an object per thread?

  • Euler rotation of direction vector

    - by Tom Savage
    I have defined an object in 3D space with position, rotation and scale values (all defined as 3D vectors). It also has upwards and forwards direction vectors. When I rotate the object, I need these direction vectors to rotate with it. Assuming my up vector is (0, 1, 0) and my forwards vector is (0, 0, 1) at zero rotation, how might I achieve this?

  • Decorator Design Pattern Use With Service Objects (wSingleton)

    - by Dustin
    I'm working on a project where I need to add some functionality to a service object and using a decorator to add it in seems like a good fit. However, I've only ever used decorators with simple beans, never on a singleton like a service object. Has anyone ever done this before and what are the pros and cons? In this case I don't think creating a subclass will work so a decorator seems to be a good fit. What are your thoughts on doing this?

  • Are methods also serialized along with the data members in .NET?

    - by Shaza
    The title is obvious, I need to know if methods are serialized along with object instances in C#, I know that they don't in Java but I'm a little new to C#. If they don't, do I have to put the original class with the byte stream(serialized object) in one package when sending it to another PC? Can the original class be like a DLL file?

  • new Integer vs valueOf

    - by LB
    Hi, I was using Sonar to make my code cleaner, and it pointed that I'm using new Integer(1) instead of Integer.valueOf(1). Because it seems that valueOf does not instantiate a new object so is more memory-friendly. How can valueOf not instantiate a new object ? How does it work ? Is this true for all integers ? thanks.

  • call_user_function_array() and __construct

    - by John
    I'm working on a simple framework, and I'm having a slight problem. I'd like to use call_user_function_array() to pass parameters to a function. That's fine, except the function I want to pass it to is __construct. I can't create an instance of an object with cufa(), and by instantiating an object, and then using cufa to call that instance's __construct(), I run into problems with a broken class because I'm calling the constructor twice (and one time it's called wrong.)

  • One-to-One relation classes

    - by SeyZ
    I want to have a class named ProjectDirectory and a class named MetaDirectory. Each project has a MetaDirectory which contains some meta data. Is it the good way to write the classes like this: class ProjectDirectory(object): def __init__(self, directory=None): self.directory = directory self.meta_directory = MetaDirectory(self) def __repr__(self): return self.directory class MetaDirectory(object): def __init__(self, project_directory=None): self.project_directory = project_directory self.directory = "%s/.meta/" % project_directory ProjectDirectory has a reference to MetaDirectory and MetaDirectory has a reference to ProjectDirectory. Is there an other solution or this solution is good ?
