• Localhost not working on XAMPP - both service apache & mysql are fine

  My xampp installation 1.7.1 does not seem to work. http://localhost returns not found error. Xampp Control panel shows both mysql & apache service running fine. I'am on windows vista. • Static field in class - Is it a re-instantiated for each static method call?

  If I have a static class with a static field such as: private static myField = new myObject(); I then have a bunch of static methods that use myField. Is myField re-instantiated for each method call? My guess is that it's instantiated the first time a method is called that uses it and it remains in memory until the GC clears it up?   Does psycopg2 have a function for escaping the value of a LIKE operand for Postgres? For example I may want to match strings that start with the string "20% of all", so I want to write something like this: sql = '... WHERE ... LIKE %(myvalue)s' cursor.fetchall(sql, { 'myvalue': escape_sql_like('20% of all') + '%' } Is there an existing escape_sql_like function that I could plug in here?
