  Hi all, i'm trying to use SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase( "/data/data/edwin11.myapp/databases/myapp.db", null, (SQLiteDatabase.CREATE_IF_NECESSARY | SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS)); to create/open a database instead of making use of the SQLiteOpenHelper (because i want to pass in the flag SQLiteDatabase.NO_LOCALIZED_COLLATORS. Doing some testing just before that line of code (using File.isExists) shows that the file /data/data/edwin11.myapp/databases/myapp.db does not exist. Would that be the cause of the error? (Or am i just using SQLiteDatabase.openDatabase the wrong way?) Would it help if i create the file beforehand? (Shouldn't that be taken care of by the SQLiteDatabase.CREATE_IF_NECESSARY flag that i passed in?) If creating the file manually is the way to go, is it just an empty file, or do i have to write something to it? Thanks and Regards.

It throwing this error: 'The SMTP connection failed to start [mail.somedomain.net:587]: fsockopen returned Error Number 110 and Error String 'Connection timed out'' Please what should I do to correct this error. • Search SharePoint ULS Logs with Windows

  Hi, I have a standard/new Windows 2008 R2 install with SharePoint 2010 and am looking for a SharePoint expectation that occurred sometime during the last week. So I open windows explorer, then go to the logs directory (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS). In the toolbar I can enter some search text (exception) or i can Ctrl-F which puts my cursor in the same search box. First it searches the filenames, comes back with no results, and then i click File Contents. And it comes back with still no results. Now I think, maybe there are no errors, so i search for something that I know is in the log (w3wp), still no results. In previous versions of windows, i could usually fix this by making *.log files read as text. But apparently (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725753(WS.10).aspx) *.log files should already be read as text. Any idea how to make the search, really search log files. I would prefer a solution that did not involve installing any 3rd party software (eg like ULSViewer), but registry/powershell settings are okay.

• Call webservice from Android using KSoap simply returning "error" string

  I'm trying to use ksoap to call a simple webservice. I followed this video to try to get started. When I call "getResponse()" on the envelope I just get the string "Error". There's no exceptions thrown or any other detail. I've successfully connected to a simple webservice I just setup on my local machine. Could this potentially be related to being behind a proxy server here at work? • C# - InvalidCastException when fetching double from sqlite

  I keep getting a InvalidCastException when I'm fetching any double from my SQLite database in C#. The exception says "Specified cast is not valid." I am able to see the value in a SQL manager so I know it exists. It is possible to fetch Strings (VARCHARS) and ints from the database. I'm also able to fetch the value as an object but then I get "66.0" when it's suppose to be "66,8558604947586" (latitude coordination). Any one who knows how to solve this? • NHibernate 2.1 MsSql2000Dialect error

  Hi. I had an old (but great) app using NHibernate 1.0.2. Worked like a charm. But then I decided to upgrade to NHibernate 2.1.2. Had to change some stuff, worked great also. Problem is, I founded out that new version works in some machines and do not work in others. What the heck? Thinking a while, I discovered that it only works in pcs with SQL 2000 installed!! previous version used to works everywhere....   I am working through a problem for my MCTS certification. The program has to calculate pi until the user presses a key, at which point the thread is aborted, the result returned to the main thread and printed in the console. Simple enough, right? This exercise is really meant to be about threading, but I'm running into another problem. The procedure that calculates pi returns -1.#IND. I've read some of the material on the web about this error, but I'm still not sure how to fix it. When I change double to Decimal type, I unsurprisingly get Overflow Exception very quickly. So, the question is how do I store the numbers correctly? Do I have to create a class to somehow store parts of the number when it gets too big to be contained in a Decimal?   Welcome, I'm exporting results of my script into Excel spreadsheet. I put several different types of data strings, ints, floats, lists and it works fine. When I run the sript for the second time it works fine - no error. What's going on? PS. This is code that generates error, what's strange is that the error doesn't occur always. • C# XMLRPC Multi Threaded newPost something is not right

  I recently decided to get my feet wet with c# multi threading and my progress was good until now. My program uses XML-RPC to create new posts on wordpress. When I run my app on the localhost everything works fine and i successfully able to create new posts on wordpress using a multi threaded approach. However when I try to do the same with a wordpress installed on a remote server , new posts won't appear, so when i go to see all posts, the total number of posts remains unchanged. Another thing to note is the function that creates a new post does return the ID of a supposedly created posts. But as I mentioned previously the new posts are not visible when I try to access them in admin menu. Since I'm new to the multithreading I was hoping some of you guys can help me and check if I'm doing anything wrong. • Cocoa Bindings and Application Preferences - Crash

  Using the document provided by Apple to create an application preferences window that doesn't require any extra code, I seem to have triggered a crash that cannot be traced by me. While the stuff from Apple is older, I believe I have the settings pretty much the same as shown here: When I run my application (Hcode) and go to the preferences menu item, it brings up the proper window with the defaults I specified in the bindings with the exception of the Spaces per tab is blank (no idea how to fix this). • What is causing this OverflowError in Django?

  I'm using a normal ModelForm.save() to create an object, and this exception comes up. It worked fine before until I added commit_manually, transaction.rollback() and transaction.commit() to my view. Has anyone else ran into this? Is this because of sqlite3?   I am passing user defined classes over sockets. The SendObject code is below. Frustrating! Ohh. I think its because the UserData class has a DataSet inside it. Funnily enough I have seen this work, but then after 1 request it goes loopy and I can't get it to work again. Anyone know why this might be? I have looked at comparing the dlls to make sure they are the same on the WebServer and on my local machine and they look to be so as I have turned on versioning in the AssemblyInfo.cs to double check. Edit: Ok it seems that the problem is with size. If I keep it under 1024 byes ( I am guessing here) it works on the web server and doesnt if it has a DataSet inside it.k In fact this is so puzzling I converted the DataSet to a string using ds.GetXml() and this also causes it to blow up. :( So it seems that across the network something with my sockets is wrong and doesn't want to read in the data.   I have created the simplest web service in c#: public void AddData(DataSet ds) The generated schema (Wsdl) looks like this: <s:schema xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> ... <s:element ref="s:schema" /> ... </s:schema> Note the schema does not contain any import/include elements. I am trying to load this schema to a c# System.Xml.XmlSchema and add it to System.Xml.XmlSchemaSet: var set = new XmlSchemaSet(); var fs = new FileStream(@"c:\temp\schema.xsd", FileMode.Open); var s = XmlSchema.Read(fs, null); set.Add(s); set.Compile(); The last line throws this exception: The 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:schema' element is not declared. It kind of makes sense: The schema generated by .Net uses the "s:schema" type which is declared in a schema which is not imported. Why does .Net create a non valid schema? How to compile the schema anyway? Whay I did is download the schema in http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema and added it to the XmlSchemaSet also. This did not work since that online schema contains DTD definition. I had to manually remove it and now all works. Does this make sense or am I missing something?

• Getting error detail from WCF REST

  I have a REST service consumed by a .Net WCF client. When an error is encountered the REST service returns an HTTP 400 Bad Request with the response body containing JSON serialised details. If I execute the request using Fiddler, Javascript or directly from C# I can easily access the response body when an error occurs. However, I'm using a WCF ChannelFactory with 6 quite complex interfaces. The exception thrown by this proxy is always a ProtocolException, with no useful details. Is there any way to get the response body when I get this error? Update I realise that there are a load of different ways to do this using .Net and that there are other ways to get the error response. They're useful to know but don't answer this question. The REST services we're using will change and when they do the complex interfaces get updated. Using the ChannelFactory with the new interfaces means that we'll get compile time (rather than run time) exceptions and make these a lot easier to maintain and update the code. Is there any way to get the response body for an error HTTP status when using WCF Channels?

• Custom code access permissions

  Hi all, We have a server written in C# (Framework 3.5 SP1). Customers write client applications using our server API. Recently, we created several levels of license schemes like Basic, Intermediate and All. If you have Basic license then you can call few methods on our API. Similiarly if you have Intermediate you get some extra methods to call and if you have All then you can call all the methods. When server starts it gets the license type. Now in each method I have to check the type of license and decide whether to proceed further with the fucntion or return. For example, a method "InterMediateMethod()" can only be used by Intermediate License and All license. So I have to something like this. public void InterMediateMethod() { if(licenseType == "Basic") { throw new Exception("Access denined"); } } It looks like to me that it is very lame approach. Is there any better way to do this? Is there any declarative way to do this by defining some custom attributes? I looked at creating a custom "CodeAccessSecurityAttribute" but did not get a good success. Thank you, Suresh

Both projects reference a database project which opens a connection to an MS-Access 2007 database file and have references to System.Data.OleDb. It cannot be reconfigured as a complex type. public ActionResult Index() { using (var db = new TimerContext()) { return View(db.Projects.ToList); } } The view is using the model @model IList<ProjectTimer.Models.Project> Can any one shine some light as to why this would be happening?
