  • selenium cannot find element with class in IE

    I'm using selenium_client with cucumber, webrat + IE As you'd expect, Firefox works fine. I've tried the following: selenium.is_visible("css=#flash .flash_notice") selenium.is_visible("xpath=//*[@id='flash']/*[@class='flash_notice]") selenium.is_visible("xpath=//*[@id='flash']/*[contains(@class,'flash_notice]')") both cannot find the element. I think it must be something to do with IE, looking closer at the html selenium returns from IE... It looks like this: <UL id=flash> <LI className=flash_notice>Deleted</LI> </UL> Notice IE returns the class attribute as className, is this confusing selenium? How can I get round this so that I can use the same statement for selenium using IE and Firefox Just to confuse us even more, this example works, confirming its something to do with checking the class attribute selenium.is_visible("xpath=//*[@id='flash']/*[. =\'Deleted\']")

  • Event handler triggered twice instead of once

    Hi all, I am sorry that I have asked two questions in a few minutes. In a html file, I got three child DIV tags in a parent DIV tag: <div id="container"> <div id="frag-123">123</div> <div id="frag-124">124</div> <div id="frag-125">125</div> </div> Now when I click either the three child DIV tags, I will see two alert boxes pop up instead of one: The first alert box will show something like this: frag-123, and the second alert box will show something like this: container I dont know why. I just want to get the ID value of a child DIV, not the one from the parent DIV. <script> $(function() { $("div").click(function() { var imgID = this.id; alert(imgID); }); }); </script> Please help.

  • Cloning a selector + all its children in jQuery?

    I'm having trouble getting the following JQuery script to function properly - its functionality is as follows: 1) Hide the content below each headline 2) Upon clicking a headline, substitute the "#first-post" with the headline + the hidden content below the headline. I can only seem to get the script to clone the headline itself to #first-post, not the headline + the content beneath it.   • Accessing Element Count and Values Within a Hidden Div

    I'm having trouble grabbing the TR count in JQuery of a table that inside a DIV set to be hidden. Here is an example: <div id="questions" style="display: none;"> <table id="tbl_questions"> <thead> <tr> <th>Question</th> <th>Weight</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr id="q0"> <td id="td_question0">Some Question 0</td> <td id="td_wieght0">Some Weight 0</td> </tr> <tr id="q1"> <td id="td_question1">Some Question 1</td> <td id="td_wieght1">Some Weight 1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> Note the table is within the containing div. It's set to display: none. When I try to run this JQuery code it returns 0. var question_count = $("#tbl_questions> tr").size(); alert(question_count); Any ideas? I'm try to locate the count so I can then build an array of each question and weight in the table. Since the ID's provide me with an index this should be simple, but is the fact that it is contained in a hidden DIV going to be a problem just as the above question? Thanks, Tegan Snyder

    I have a table that looks like: <table> <tr> <td>one</td><td>two</td><td>three</td><td>last</td> </tr> <tr> <td>blue</td><td>red</td><td>green</td><td>last</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Monday</td><td>Tuesday</td><td>Wednesday</td><td>last</td> </tr> </table> What I want is a jquery selector that will choose all but the last td of each table row. I tried: $("tr td:not(:last)").css("background-color","red"); //changing color just as a test... But instead of all cells but the last on each row being changed, all cells but the very last one in the table are selected. Similarly, if I change it to: $("tr td:last").css("background-color","red"); the only one that changes is the very last cell. How do I choose the last (or not last) of each row?

    I'm trying to find some simple client-side performance tweaks in a page that receives millions of monthly pageviews. One concern that I have is the use of the CSS universal selector (*).     Lets say I have a jQuery object/collection stored in a variable named obj, which should contain a DOM element with an id named target. I don't know in advance if target will be a child in obj, i.e.: obj = $('<div id="parent"><div id="target"></div></div>'); or if obj equals target, i.e.: obj = $('<div id="target"></div>'); or if target is a top-level element inside obj, i.e.: obj = $('<div id="target"/><span id="other"/>'); I need a way to select target from obj, but I don't know in advance when to use .find and when to use .filter. What would be the fastest and/or most concise method of extracting target from obj? What I've come up with is: var $target = obj.find("#target").add(obj.filter("#target")); UPDATE I'm adding solutions to a JSPERF test page to see which one is the best.     I have multiple comment ids I want to reset to a default value. Ex: <a id="comments_inner_toggle_45">example 1</a> <a id="comments_inner_toggle_608">example 2</a> <a id="comments_inner_toggle_28">example 3</a> ... How can I write the correct tag in jQuery to select every tag with an id of "comments_inner_toggle_" and perform some operation on it? I think it's something similar to: $('a[id|=comments_inner_toggle_]').whatever This is wrong however because the code above will only match the tag with "comments_inner_toggle_" and not with a number appended at the end. How can I fix this? thanks for the help! :)

So the code for a checkbox looks like this: <input id="Jumping_successleicht" type="checkbox" value="true" name="Jumping_successleicht"> <input type="hidden" value="false" name="Jumping_successleicht"> <label for="Jumping_successleicht"> <span>leicht (4)</span> </label> Now I've thought I can use following code to select the label: input[type=checkbox] + label { background: url("../../Images/Controls/Checkbox.png") no-repeat scroll left center transparent; clear: none; cursor: pointer; margin: 0; padding: 5px 0 4px 24px; } But it does not work. It looks like label and input have to be next to each other. Does any ony have a solution how to solve this problem?
