    I am getting address of COM function by loading type library (TLB) and iterating over types using ITypeLib and ITypeInfo. After calling AddressOfMember function of ITypeInfo I am facing the following exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800288BD): Wrong module kind for the operation. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800288BD (TYPE_E_BADMODULEKIND)) at System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.ITypeInfo.AddressOfMember(Int32 memid, INVOKEKIND invKind, IntPtr& ppv). Any idea how to get rid of this excpetion?

  • Handling Exceptions for ThreadPoolExecutor

    I have the following code snippet that basically scans through the list of task that needs to be executed and each task is then given to the executor for execution. The JobExecutor intern creates another executor (for doing db stuff...reading and writing data to queue) and completes the task. JobExecutor returns a Future for the tasks submitted. When one of the task fails, I want to gracefully interrupt all the threads and shutdown the executor by catching all the exceptions.     When you have a controller that does logic with services and DAO's that may throw an unrecoverable exception, what is the best practice in dealing with those method calls? Currently an app I'm working on has very lengthy try catch methods that simply err.out exception messages, this doesn't seem very robust and I think that this code smells, is there any cookie cutter best practice for handling this in spring-mvc?

  • Why are Python exceptions named "Error"?

    Why are Python exceptions named "Error" (e.g. ZeroDivisionError, NameError, TypeError etc) and not "Exception" (e.g. ZeroDivisionException, NameException, TypeException etc). I come from a Java background and started to learn Python recently, as such this is confusing because in java there is a distinction between error and exception. Is there a difference in Python also or not? Can someone explain or point me to some documentation explaining it? Thank you!

    Hello, I need improve the traceability in a Web Application that usually run on fixed db user. The DBA should have a fast access for the information about the heavy users that are degrading the database. 5 years ago, I implemented a .NET ORM engine which makes a log of user and the server using the DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO package. Using a wrapper above the connection manager with the following code: DBMS_APPLICATION_INFO.SET_MODULE('" + User + " - " + appServerMachine + "',''); Each time that a connection get a connection from the pool, the package is executed to log the information in the V$SESSION. Has anyone discover or implemented a solution for this problem using the Toplink or Hibernate? Is there a default implementation for this problem? I found here a solutions as I implemented 5 years ago, but I'd like to know with anyone have a better solution and integrated with the ORM. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/53379/using-dbmsapplicationinfo-with-jboss My application is above Spring, the DAO are implemented with JPA (using hibernate) and actually running directly in Tomcat, with plans to (next year) migrate to SAP Netwevare Application Server. However this exception is being thrown after I've called through curses.wrapper() and entered curses mode, rendering the pdb interpreter useless. How can I work around this?

    I've been trying to debug the following problem for several weeks now - this method is called from several places within the same datamodule, but this exception (from the subject line of this post) only occurs when integers for a certain purpose (pickup orders vs. orders that we ship through a carrier) are used - and don't ask me how the application can tell the difference between one integer's purpose and another! Furthermore, I cannot duplicate this issue on my machine - the error occurs on a warehouse machine but not my own development machine, even when working with the same production database. I've even created a second dataset from scratch and removed all references to the original dataset in case some property of the original dataset in the .dfm might be corrupted, but the same error occurs under the same circumstances. The commandtext for this dataset is a simple select ValueA from TableName where ValueB = @ParameterB I'm about ready to do something extreme, such as writing a web service to look these values up - it feels right now as though I could destroy my machine, rebuild it, rewrite this entire application from scratch, and the application would still know to throw an exception whenever I try to look up a secondary value from a primary value, but only for pickup orders, and only from the one machine in the warehouse, but I'm probably missing something simple. So, any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.
