  • Video/Animated GIF advanced frame editor?

    What sort of application could I use for example if I had a 5 minute video or an animated GIF with 50 frames, and I wanted to basically Photoshop replace an object, say a person's head, with another image for all those 50 frames? Is there some sort of smart tool that can do this or do I have to edit every single frame by hand? I wouldn't mind there being a tool where I can paste the image in every frame automatically, and switch from frame to frame adjusting the position of it, I just need something efficient. I've tried using Photoshop's import video into image sequence and tried editing with the animation toolbar at the bottom, but it's not quite what I want. I don't care if it's free software or not, I'm primarily using Linux but I have VirtualBox Windows XP if there's an excellent application that's not available otherwise.

  • Looking for "bitmap-vector" image editor

    I used to use PhotoImpact which is no longer developed so I'm looking for a replacement. What made PhotoImpact great to me was the ability to work in both bitmap and vector modes. What I mean by that: I could have an image or screenshot and easily add arrows, text captions or shapes to it. These shapes were vector objects so I could come back to them later and amend their properties easily. Software I know of: Paint.NET is purely bitmap so please don't recommend it - layers are not enough for my needs Drawing tools in MS Office work pretty much the way I'd like - you can paste an image and then add vector objects on top of it. It just doesn't feel right to have the full-fidelity original images stored as .docx or .pptx (I don't fully trust Word/Powerpoint that they don't compress the image) I'm not sure about GIMP but if it's just "better Paint.NET" (i.e., layers but no vector objects) I'm not interested Photoshop is out of question purely because of its price tag Corel killed PhotoImpact because they already had a competing product (Paint Shop Pro) but AFAIK it lacks vector features. Any tips for PhotoImpact alternatives would be very welcome.

  • free Raw-File Converter/Editor

    I have RAW files output by a program with a specific set of properties (Photoshop RAW, 16 bits, IBM PC byte order, no header, 1 non-interleaved channel, variable sizes like 257X257 or 129X513); does anyone know of a free tool that will allow me to convert to and from this format, and possibly do basic editing (selection, copy/paste, rotation of selection)? I've tried Picasa, XNView, and Paint Shop Pro 7 and none of them work properly. The closest i get is Paint Shop Pro which will at least make a serviceable attempt to open these files but i can't set all of the proper settings. XNView just might be able to edit it if i can figure out how to change the open settings for a particular raw file. So my questions at current are: how do i tell XNView to open a raw file a particular way? Failing that, is there any free tool that can open Photoshop-RAW files with the above settings (that's not photoshop)? If it helps, i'm trying to import/export/edit hieghtmap data for maps for Supreme Commander.

  • Open file in local text editor from within an SSH connection

    I'm not a vim guy. I'd like to be able to open log files in Sublime Text when in an SSH connection from within Terminal. Is there a way I could do this? I'm thinking there must be a command or something that could copy the file over to a temporary directory in OS X and then open it in Sublime Text, and when I save it, it'll copy back to the original location through SSH; similar to how FileZilla does it. I'm on Mac OS X MT. The server I SSH into is running Ubuntu. I'm using Terminal.

    On my Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit system, I have changed the following setting: Local Computer Policy - Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - User Right Assignment - Deny access to this computer from the network This setting was by default "Guest" and I deleted this so that Guest can access a defined network share over the LAN. But later, I have changed my mind and wanted to return this setting to its default. So I edited that setting and specified Guest. But the setting became MYWINPC\Guest. So my question is, what is the difference between the previous setting "Guest" and MYWINPC\Guest? And how do I return this setting to its default value, "Guest"?

  • nhibernate configure and buildsessionfactory time

    Hi, I'm using Nhibernate as the OR/M tool for an asp.net application and the startup performance is really frustrating. Part of the problem is definitely me in my lack of understanding but I've tried a fair bit (understanding is definitely improving) and am still getting nowhere. Currently ANTS profiler has that the Configure() takes 13-18 seconds and the BuildSessionFActory() as taking about 5 seconds. From what i've read, these times might actually be pretty good, but they were generally talking about hundreds upon hundreds of mapped entities...this project only has 10. I've combined all the mapping files into a single hbm mapping file and this did improve things but only down to the times mentioned above... I guess, are there any "Traps for young players" that are regularly missed...obvious "I did this/have you enabled that/exclude file x/mark file y as z" etc... I'll try the serialize the configuration thing to avoid the Configure() stage, but I feel that part shouldn't be that long for that amount of entities and so would essentially be hiding a current problem...   • WPF DatePicker IsEnabled property not changing appearance

    I think I have found an issue with the DatePicker in the toolkit, perhaps some of you gurus can check it out. The issue is when setting the IsEnabled property of the DatePicker. If set in XAML, it stays grey even if you set the IsEnabled to true at run time. The same goes for the other way around should it start off being enabled.   • JSF Page does not submit when onclick javascript is added to menu item?

    I show some detail using popup windows. I want to close those when the user clicks on sign-out link. I have a JavaScript function that'll close the windows. The sign-out link is rendered using Navigation MenuModel. When I remove/comment the "onclick" part, the page gets submitted properly. I use MyFaces Trinidad.

  • nVelocity - Template issue when attempting 'greater than' comparison on decimal property

    I have a simple object that has as one of it's properties a decimal named Amount. When I attempt a comparison on this property as part of an nVelocity template, the comparison always fails. If I change the property to be of type int the comparison works fine. Is there anything extra I need to add to the template for the comparison to work? (see below) Now I want to configure my own fomater in the propertie file, instead of the java code. does someone know how to do that ?     I need to retrieve calendar information by invoking the Exchange Web Service in BPOS. I'm using a CalendarView with a PropertySet to retrieve as little data as possible. However, property sets seems to be limited. I need the EmailAddress of the one who made the calendar appointment so I thought I could use the AppointmentSchema.Organizer in the PropertySet. When fetching a whole Appointment I can get the e-mail through appt.Organizer.EmailAddress. But with the code below the Organizer.EmailAddress is always null. I've enabled the trace and checked it and only the Organizer.Name property is sent, nothing else. Does anyone have a solution on how to get the EmailAddress when using a PropertySet? Please explain :) I have no ideas except that WPF Designer doesn't like generics. If I replace generics by Object all is OK.
