  • Is ResourceBundle fallback resolution broken in Resin3x?

    Given the following ResourceBundle properties files: messages.properties messages_en.properties messages_es.properties messages_{some locale}.properties Note: messages.properties contains all the messages for the default locale. messages_en.properties is really empty - it's just there for correctness. messages_en.properties will fall back to messages.properties! And given the following config params in web.xml: <context-param> <param-name>javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.fmt.localizationContext</param-name> <param-value>messages</param-value> </context-param> <context-param> <param-name>javax.servlet.jsp.jstl.fmt.fallbackLocale</param-name> <param-value>en</param-value> </context-param> I would expect that if the chosen locale is 'es', and a resource is not translated in 'es', then it would fall back to 'en', and finally to 'messages.properties' (since messages_en.properties is empty). This is how things work in Jetty. I've also tested this on WebSphere. Resin Is the Problem The problem is when I get to Resin (3.0.23). Fallback resolution does not work at all! In order to get an messages to display, I must do the following: Rename messages.properties to messages_en.properties (essentially, swap the contents of messages.properties and messages_en.properties) Make sure ever key in messages_en.properties is also defined in messages_{every other locale}.properties (even if the exact same). If I don't do this, I get "???some.key???" in the JSPs. Please help!   • PHPUnit won't run tests by directory

    I'm new to PHP, trying to get multiple tests to run at once. I was hoping to just run all tests in a directory, which seemed to work awhile (instead of using a phpunit.xml). I am able to run a test individually like so: phpunit FirstUnitTest sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests\FirstUnitTest.lua But when I try to run the same test by directory, its not found. I try using: phpunit sites\all\modules\experiment\unit-tests Does anyone know why this may not work?

My implementing class is called PreferencesActivity. I know I can open the main Preferences window via startActivity(new Intent(this, PreferencesActivity.class)); but how do I go about opening the child PreferenceScreen via an Intent?

    I'm revising this question after reading the resources mentioned in the original answers and working through implementing it. I'm using the google maps api to integrate a map into my Rails site. I have a markets model with the following columns: ID, name, address, lat, lng. On my markets/index view, I want to populate a map with all the markets in my markets table. I'm trying to output @markets as json data, and that's where I'm running into problems. I have the basic map displaying, but right now it's just a blank map. I'm following the tutorials very closely, but I can't get the markers to generate dynamically from the json. Any help is much appreciated!   • Are there reasons why the java/spring/hibernate stack aren't popular in the web 2.0 space?

    I am really impressed with the java/spring/hibernate stack, and really want to dive in. Just curious, why are so many people using rails when java/spring/hibernate are tried and true? I guesss its because of the convention over configuration and time to launch? (spring has really gone the annotation route so less xml though). I realize this is subjective, but just looking for some thoughts on this.

  • Is there a working example of using WebDAV for querying Exchange server for calendar items?

    I have tried to hack together a small test project, but it fails with "400 Bad Request" so I'm pretty sure I have done something very basic wrong, but the examples I've found are all in the form of questions, only showing minor pieces of the puzzle, such as a request XML for public folders or whatnot. Is there a complete example somewhere where I can just put in my username and servername and it would list the calendar items in my calendar? This is for C# 3.0/4.0.

  • How to get hibernate3-maven-plugin hbm2ddl to find JDBC driver?

    I have a Java project I am building with Maven. I am now trying to get the hibernate3-maven-plugin to run the hbm2ddl tool to generate a schema.sql file I can use to create the database schema from my annotated domain classes. This is a JPA application that uses Hibernate as the provider. In my persistence.xml file I call out the mysql driver: <property name="hibernate.dialect" value="org.hibernate.dialect.MySQLDialect"/> <property name="hibernate.connection.driver_class" value="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"/> When I run Maven, I see it processing all my classes, but when it goes to output the schema, I get the following error: ERROR org.hibernate.connection.DriverManagerConnectionProvider - JDBC Driver class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver I have the MySQL driver as a dependency of this module. However it seems like the hbm2ddl tool cannot find it. I would have guessed that the Maven plugin would have known to search the local Maven file repository for this driver. What gives?   • Some frames are not showing in Frame Animation

    I am doing a frame to frame animation. My problem is I have given around 10 drawable images in my anim xml. But only first two and last two is showing not all the images. I am doing a translation also on this image.After translation only frame animation starts.Translation is happening and frame animation also happening but it is not showing all the frames.   • Including hibernate jar dependencies in ant build

    Hi, I'm trying to compile a runnable jar-file for a project that makes use of hibernate. I'm trying to construct an ant build.xml file to streamline my build process, but I'm having troubles with the inclusion of the hibernate3.jar inside the final jar-file. If I run the ant script I manage to include all my library jars, and they are put in the final jar-file's root. When I run the jar-file I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/hibernate/Session error. If I make use of the built-in export to jar in Eclipse, it works only if I choose "extract required libraries into jar". But that bloats the jar, and includes too much of my project (i.e. unit tests). The manifest.classpath-variable takes the classpath of all those library jar-files, and flattens them with pathconvert and mapper. I've also tried to set the manifest classpath to ".", "./" and only the library jar, but to no difference at all. I'm hoping there's a simple remedy to my problems...

    I can't find anything like that. Commercial or free ( XSQL Lite is suitable for my case and ) tools show diffs in grids with possibility to export to CSV. Also they generate sync SQL scripts when run from command line. What I need is an output as a comprehensive report ( XML , HTML ) suitable for parsing so that I would be able to show similar diff grid in my application ( updated old/new values for each column , added - all values for row , deleted - all values for row and etc... ) .

  • How do Tomcat examples work?

    Alright, this is a very simple question. I just installed Tomcat 6 on my Mac to play around with it, and every tutorial I look at says the first thing to do to create a new web application is to add a line to the server.xml file with defines a new Context. Fair enough. However, my question is, I don't see a line in there for the example web applications, so how do those work?

  • XStream serializable objects

    I am currently using XStream to serialize some of my objects that don't implement Serializable. Is there a way to tell XStream to use Java's default serialization if the object does implement Serializable and to fall back on XML serialization if it does not? Or would I need to implement a simple layer on top of it to check? thanks, Jeff
