• WPF - Weird results with DataGrid - extra line for editing entries

  Working with WPF and C#. I have a page with a datagrid that lists a series of objects with List as the DataContext. I recently had it working in the code behind and the Datagrid would show the extra line at the bottom of the datagrid for new entries. Now, I have moved the exact same code to its own library project. The data still appears but the extra line for entry does not and users cannot add a new record. I have already tried using grid.CanUserAddNew = true; but that does not solve it. So, it must be something in the List object - it's the exact same code as before, only pulling from a library. Help.

• Need help in downloading file with header() function

  Hi. I'm trying to explain as best as I can, sorry for my English. I have a list of links, each linked to a php file with an id by parameters (ex. download.php?id=1 or ?id=2 and so on). This file create a new instance of a class witch return the correct header of the files so it displays the save dialog box of the browser. Now I need to check if the files is already downloaded in past (The first time you downloaded it I add a field on the mysql db). This checks go ahead if you haven't download the files, else return false. Here is the problem, when it returns false or something else the browser redirect me to the download.php file, so I get a blank page or what I'm echoing. I need that if the file is already download it show me a js alert for advice ppl. Hope you can understand what i mean. Thanks for help

• Multiple column subselect in mysql 5 (5.1.42)

  This one seems to be a simple problem, but I can't make it work in a single select or nested select. Retrieve the authors and (if any) advisers of a paper (article) into one row. I order to explain the problem, here are the two data tables (pseudo) papers (id, title, c_year) persons (id, firstname, lastname) plus a link table w/one extra attribute (pseudo): paper_person_roles( paper_id person_id act_role ENUM ('AUTHOR', 'ADVISER') ) This is basically a list of written papers (table: papers) and a list of staff and/or students (table: persons) An article my have (1,N) authors. An article may have (0,N) advisers. A person can be in 'AUTHOR' or 'ADVISER' role (but not at the same time). The application eventually puts out table rows containing the following entries: TH: || Paper_ID | Author(s) | Title | Adviser(s) | TD: || 21334 |John Doe, Jeff Tucker|Why the moon looks yellow|Brown, Rayleigh| ... My first approach was like: select/extract a full list of articles into the application, eg.SELECT q.id, q.title FROM papers AS q ORDER BY q.c_year and save the results of the query into an array (in the application). After this step, loop over the array of the returned information and retrieve authors and advisers (if any), via prepared statement (? is the paper's id) from the link table like:APPLICATION_LOOP(paper_ids in array) SELECT p.lastname, p.firstname, r.act_role FROM persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r WHERE p.id=r.person_id AND r.paper_id = ? # The application does further processing from here (pseudo): foreach record from resulting records if record.act_role eq 'AUTHOR' then join to author_column if record.act_role eq 'ADVISER' then join to avdiser_column end print id, author_column, title, adviser_column APPLICATION_LOOP This works so far and gives the desired output. Would it make sense to put the computation back into the DB? I'm not very proficient in nontrivial SQL and can't find a solution with a single (combined or nested) select call. I tried sth. like SELECT q.title (CONCAT_WS(' ', (SELECT p.firstname, p.lastname AS aunames FROM persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r WHERE q.id=r.paper_id AND r.act_role='AUTHOR') ) ) AS aulist FROM papers AS q, persons AS p, paper_person_roles AS r in several variations, but no luck ... • What are the new features in Java 7

  What is the most official Java 7 feature list? I find very little useful information regarding this on the official JDK 7 site. Apart from that I can only find blogs with people summarizing "some" of the new features. However, some of these blog entries are old and some of them claim that these features "may or may not" be included in Java 7. Can anyone provide a list of features that will definitely be included in Java 7? I would also very much like to know the estimated release date. Will it be backwards compatible with my existing Java EE 6 stuff. That is, will I be able to switch seamlessly using EJBs, JPA2, Glassfish 3 and so on. The feature I am mostly interested in is Closures, so I'll happily switch to Java 7 as soon as a stable release comes out. Thanks!

• Select next element in the page source using jQuery

  I have an arbitrarily deep list of the form: <ul> <li></li> <li> <ul> <li></li> </ul> </li> </ul> I am trying to build a function "nextElement" that returns a jQuery selector. The first time the function is called, it returns the first li in the list. The second time it is called, it returns the next li in the page. Etc. I'd like this function to pay no attention to siblings, parents, children, etc. All I care about is that everytime it is called, the next li in the source gets chosen. Any suggestions on how to go about approaching this? Thanks

• Open page in Joomla

  I'm using Jumi to echo php code and then showing that in a Joomla Article, and everythings working fine. Now I want to do this: The output is basically a list from a database like this: Name Price Type A 1 T1 B 2 T2 In this list I want to include links to only show items of the same type, so "T1" would like to a page only showing things of type T1. So I thought I would do this by making a new page that takes a type and then get all the items of that type from the database. Without Joomla this wouldv'e been a piece of cake, with Joomla I'm not quite sure where to begin. How should the a href=... tags in the html code printed by my php script look? Is my basic structure still correct, and if so, how do I make Joomla open the new page in the normal frame and not replace the whole Joomla page. some kind of target-frame attribute?

The program shoud be running till the processes are running and display output.

  Where can I find documentation for Qt documentation comments? I'm referring to how Qt uses a specific style for documentation comments, like so: /*! \class MyClassName \brief The MyClassName class is used as an example on Stack Overflow. This class serves a few functions, the most important being: \list \i So people can understand my question. \i So people can have a few laughs at the comedy in my example. \endlist */ ...you get the picture. So where can I find information about all the switches, like \class, \list, \brief, etc. Also, what tool(s) do I use to generate documentation files from these comments in my source files? Does Doxygen support this syntax?

• How do I implement a DataGrid with an MVVM approach.

  Hi, I'd like to implement a sort of Addressbook/Contactbook using a Datagrid (or a List) and the MVVM pattern. Something like in Outlook/Thunderbird, where you've a list of your contacts displayed with a 2-3 main fields (name surname for example), and when you double-click a contact, then you get a new modal box that displays all the details of this specific contact. Since a couple of weeks/months, I'm reading a lot of stuff about MVVM pattern on the net, but somehow, I get confused. Until now, I could find any sample like this. (perhaps, I searched wrong?) How could I organize such an application? Thx in advance for your help.

• Infinite queue for build while TFS Preview publishing on Azure Cloud Service

  I've created Cloud Service and linked TFS Preview Project for CI deployments. I've chosen Manual mode for triggering the builds. The previously queued builds were successfully completed and deployed. And the website based on this Cloud Service was running fine. Waiting in the queue was no more than 3-5 seconds. Now when I click - "Queue New Build" - the new build item is created in the queue but it never runs. I can successfully Publish project onto Azure Cloud service from VS2012 though. What could be the most common reasons for this?

  Hi Everyone, At my site - jasondaydesign.com. I'm using easylistsplitter.js. I designed it this way, because I actually wanted a masonry.js style layout but I couldn't find a way to filter divs. So I made the switch to lists, and found a plugin that allowed me to have a masonry style layout. Unfortunately, I have tried several list filters including: filterprojects.js and a netuts tutorial on a filterable portfolio. Unfortunately, both work, but only on the first column. I can't seem to figure out a way to have a filter plugin work on all list items that have been split by easylistsplitter.js Thoughts?

• Is it possible to use instanceof when passing objects between Threads?

  I've run into an issue where instanceof works, and then it doesn't. Going into details is difficult, but I think this might be the problem: Reading this: http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=40229 (search for Thread.currentThread), it seems to imply that, even if the two objects are the same class, if you pass them between threads with different class loaders, instanceof (and isAssignableFrom) might still fail. This certainly would explain the behavior I'm having, but I was wondering if anyone could verify it? (I wish the article linked at the beginning of the discussion was still available, but it doesn't seem like it is.) Thanks, Peter

Specifically, I am looking for a comprehensive list of what events occur in the page and control life cycles and what is "available" in each event. Like when can I get a dropdownlists selected value, when can i databind, when can I get at values in view state and what not.   I am trying to bind data from database to datagrid in silverlight. When I get typed data from DB, it is no problem since I use List<'EntityObject' collection object for example. However, sometimes I need data which I won't be able to know how many and what columns will be generated in design time. In this case, I cannot use typed collection like List<'EntityObject'. In addition, it is not able to use DataSet in silverlight. So, in this case and situation, how to solve this kind of problem? Thanks in advance Kwon

  Hi, all my projects and their versions are defined in a properties file like this: ProjectNameA=0.0.1 ProjectNameB=1.4.2 I'd like to iterate over all projects and use there names and versions in an ant script. Right now, I read the entire properties file in help of the property task. Then I iterate over a given list in a for loop like this: <for list="ProjectNameA,ProjectNameB" param="project"> <sequential> <echo message="@{project} has version ${@{project}}" /> </sequential> </for> How can I avoid the duplication of the project names in the for loop. So basically iterate over each line and extract the name and the version of a project. Thanks.

When is that memory cleaned up? I assume that when Factoy.GetToys() returns the ToyBox object, the only reference to the ToyBox object is the one in main(), so when that reference goes out of scope, the Toy objects and the ToyBox object are marked for garbage collection. • Windows Mobile application icon

  Is it possible to specify the application icon for a windows mobile app from a resource file or other configuration besides the .csproj? The reason I would like to do this is because I have an application that can be configured to run in several different ways. We would like to build out three unique .cabs based on these configurations, and we would like to use a different icon for each version. One option we've considered is just running multiple builds and swapping out the icon file each time, but we were hoping there would be a way to do this using a "resource" DLL or something along those lines, that could be compiled or linked in to the main .exe.

• SQL Server 2008 EF 4 - limiting database records returned using permissions?

  In our database all tables are linked back to a single table. This table has a bit column to limit whether the record is displayed. Currently the records are filtered on the code side of the website. Is there any way to set up permission so that userA would never see any record in the database where that common bit column was set to true? We are using SQL Server 2008. Alternatively we are also using entity framework 4.0 in .net 4 (in c#) if you have any ideas how it might be accomplished there? Thanks for your feedback.

It never occurs on ActiveCell.Validation.Delete which I find weird? I have been all over google trying to find a solution, and most suggest that it is caused by running dynamic validation code from a button which hogs focus despite the Activate call, but I am running on sheet change event rather than on button press so I don't think this is my issue - any ideas? I've wasted basically a whole day on this! :(

• InfoPath Getting SharePoint Group Information

  I have an InfoPath form embedded in an aspx page on a SharePoint site. How do I bind the SharePoint user groups to a drop-down list on my form? What I've tried so far is to create a data connection to a web service (method GetGroupCollectionFromWeb) to pull the data. Next, I open the list box properties, select "Look up values from an external data source", select the data source, assign the entries, and I get the following error: "You must select a repeating group or field." What I don't understand is that since the method I am calling is called GetGroupCollectionFromWeb, isn't the return value a collection? And aren't collections repeating by definition? What am I missing, and is there a workaround? Thank you.
