    In my Dispose methods (like the one below), everytime i want to call someObj.Dispose() i also have a check for someObj!=null. Is that because of bad design on my part?     Hi, I have this call to stringwithcontentsofurl: [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL:url usedEncoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding error:nil]; How can I give that a simple timeout? I don't want to use threads or operation queues (the content of the url is about 100 characters), I just don't want to wait too long when the connection is slow.

  • Invalid nonce in twitter request

    Ive been battling with the oAuth flow for a while with my twitter app. I finally got my access token granted, and now i cant call the twitter update url without getting an 'invalid nonce' error, yet im building and signing the URL in the exact same way as when calling the request and access token methods. Has anyone else had this problem, and do you know how to solve it??

    In the case of MSFT SQL Server 08, it is: odbcCommand = new OdbcCommand("{call " + SP_NAME + " (?,?,?,?,?,?,?) }", odbcConn); When I try to do the same thing for Oracle, I get: OdbcException: ERROR [HYC00] [Oracle][ODBC]Optional feature not implemented. Feel free to ask for clarification, and please help. I am using .Net 3.5, SQL Server 08, and Oracle 11g_home1. P.S. The Oracle stored procedure does have some 3 more parameters, but I believe I am handling this in my code.

Then the class-owner get disposed I call thread1.Join() but naturally it doesnt return because its child background thread is sleeping.   • Is arithmetic overflow/underflow generally checked in .Net framework methods?

    For example, let's use the Add method of the ArrayList class. If I am using the default compiler settings in Visual Studio C# project in which arithmetic overflow is not checked, would ArrayList.Add() throw an OverflowException if I added too many items? Would surrounding the method call with checked or unchecked make any difference? BTW, I would write a test program to determine the answer to this question if I had Visual Studio available to me right now.
