    Is there any way to query GAE datastore with filter similar to SQL LIKE statement? For example, if a class has a string field, and I want to find all classes that have some specific keyword in that string, how can I do that? It looks like JDOQL's matches() don't work... Am I missing something? Any comments, links or code fragments are welcome

Can I achieve a speedup with indexes or something else?

    Including DISTINCT to an SQL query that also uses ORDER BY CAST(thecolumn AS int) as shown here seems to remove that sorting functionality. Any reason these cant work together?     I have a MS SQL Fulltext Function like this: (...) RETURNS TABLE AS RETURN SELECT * FROM fishes INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(fishes, *, @keywords, @limit) AS KEY_TBL ON fishes.id = KEY_TBL.[KEY] When I use this function in LINQ, it generates a special return type which includes all fields of my "fishes" table, plus Key and Rank. How could I rewrite above query, or change something in LINQ, to omit Key and Rank and just return my "fishes" results (and to have the fulltext search result objects be of type Fish, which is what I really care about, so I don't have to cast)?

(ie, a person that has been released has a previous booking modified due to incorrect information). There should not be locking contention between Person and Booking whenever a Booking needs to be updated. One other business requirement is that a Booking can never occur for a Person more than once at a time. Due to this, I'm concerned about querying the query database on the read side as there could potentially be some inconsistency there (due to using CQRS and having an eventually consistent read database). Should the aggregate roots be allowed to query the event-sourced backing store by id for objects (lazy-loading them as needed)? Are there any other avenues of implementation that would make more sense?

I've tried to iterate within ruby over each record, but this takes much too long and quits sometimes with some "segmentation fault" bugs. So i wonder, if its possible to do this with a raw sql query?

    General error: 1030 Got error -1 from storage engine the used storage engine is innodb the query was runned when i got it today morning was: SELECT feeds.* FROM feeds ORDER BY RAND() LIMIT 1 i know rand() is bad but it's very small table (<500 records) and not loaded project this error i receive approximately once a day. cannot google anything relevant :-(
