  When ever I run make I get this 'uninitialized constant RDoc::RDoc' error rake -T (in Main) rake aborted! uninitialized constant RDoc::RDoc C:/Ruby186/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/rake-0.8.7/lib/rake.rb:2383:in `raw_load_rakefile' (See full trace by running task with --trace) --edit Running --trace it seems the only non rails code is from rdoc_rails. Since other people seem to be able to run it fine I assume I am missing a gem or plugin but I can't figure out which.

• Why encodeXxx methods in UIComponent accept FacesContext parameter?

  I haven't ever before created custom component in jsf so I've noticed it only now that methods like encodeBegin(), encodeEnd() etc accept FacesContext parameter. FacesContext instance can usually be received with FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(). So, I wonder whether these methods have FacesContext parameter just for convenience or some different objects can be passed there (maybe from external resources..). If the latter is possible then could you give an example pls.

  I can't narrow down this bug, however I seem to have the following problem: - saveState() of a horizontalHeader() - restart app - Modify model so that it has one less column - restoreState() - Now, for some reason, the state of the headerview is totally messed up. I cannot show or hide any new columns, nor can I ever get a reasonable state back I know, this is not very descriptive but I'm hoping others have had this problem before.

• When should a uniform be used in shader programming?

  In a vertex shader, I calculate a vector using only uniforms. Therefore, the outcome of this calculation is the same for all instantiations of the vertex shader. Should I just do this calculation on the CPU and upload it as a uniform? What if I have ten such calculations? If I upload a lot of uniforms in this way, does CPU-GPU communication ever get so slow that recomputing such values in the vertex shader is actually faster?

What I want to do now, is to have a simple graphical animation (5 keyframes or so) that loops as well, while the music plays along.   My RIA enabled Silverlight Application is setting the thread culture in the App constructor (this is absolutley okay since it is an intranet application and will never ever be used by someone who is not german): public App() { InitializeComponent(); Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture = new CultureInfo("de-DE"); } It does what it should, the DataForms are displaying datetime values in german notation. BUT: it is spontaneously changing to en-US notation when navigating between items in the data source that is bound to the DataForm. Why?

They have to be done as separate requests because IE had a limit on the length of a single request, and fails silently if that limit is passed. Consider using PDOStatement::fetchAll(). Alternatively, if your code is only ever going to run against mysql, you may enable query buffering by setting the PDO::MYSQL_ATTR_USE_BUFFERED_QUERY attribute. those are the only query/ies

• Reloading embed PDF in a DIV (empty Accrobat Reader error popup)

  Hello, I have a web application coded in C#/ASP.NET. The application basically exports a PDF file when the user click on Save. It then reloads a DIV, putting the EMBED (with the src pointing to the newly generated pdf file) in it. Sometimes the embed area just gets black and I get this window from Acrobat Reader: http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/3359/acreader.jpg. What does it mean? Has anyone ever see this?
