  • Network.downloadfile is very slow

    - by user324067
I have tried using the My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile method but unfortunately it is slow. Executing the simple command below takes ~5-10 secs, which I would say is a lot longer than expected for downloading a 9 kb file. `My.Computer.Network.DownloadFile("http://www.google.dk", "j:\temp\test.html")` I am connecting via a high-speed connection (10GB) from a Win7 machine. Do anyone know of any explanations for this behavior? Hope that you can help me out with this. Kristoffer

  • Multiplying matrices: error: expected primary-expression before 'struct'

    - by justin
I am trying to write a program that is supposed to multiply matrices using threads. I am supposed to fill the matrices using random numbers in a thread. I am compiling in g++ and using PTHREADS. I have also created a struct to pass the data from my command line input to the thread so it can generate the matrix of random numbers. The sizes of the two matrices are also passed in the command line as well. I keep getting: main.cpp:7: error: expected primary-expression before 'struct' my code @ line 7 =: struct a{ int Arow; int Acol; int low; int high; }; My inpust are : Sizes of two matrices ( 4 arguments) high and low ranges in which o generate the random numbers between. Complete code: [headers] using namespace std; void *matrixACreate(struct *); void *status; int main(int argc, char * argv[]) { int Arow = atoi(argv[1]); // Matrix A int Acol = atoi(argv[2]); // WxX int Brow = atoi(argv[3]); // Matrix B int Bcol = atoi(argv[4]); // XxZ, int low = atoi(argv[5]); // Range low int high = atoi(argv[6]); struct a{ int Arow; // Matrix A int Acol; // WxX int low; // Range low int high; }; pthread_t matrixAthread; //pthread_t matrixBthread; pthread_t runner; int error, retValue; if (Acol != Brow) { cout << " This matrix cannot be multiplied. FAIL" << endl; return 0; } error = pthread_create(&matrixAthread, NULL, matrixACreate, struct *a); //error = pthread_create(&matrixAthread, NULL, matrixBCreate, sendB); retValue = pthread_join(matrixAthread, &status); //retValue = pthread_join(matrixBthread, &status); return 0; } void matrixACreate(struct * a) { struct a *data = (struct a *) malloc(sizeof(struct a)); data->Arow = Arow; data->Acol = Acol; data->low = low; data->high = high; int range = ((high - low) + 1); cout << Arow << endl<< Acol << endl; }// just trying to print to see if I am in the thread

    - by MicMit
I am using 7za command line File dfat_clist.xls in directory 2010_05_07 The same dfat_clist.xls in directory 2010_05_08 Zips are created in the same directory where the xls files resides string pars = "a -tzip \"" + Path.Combine( SourceDir,ZipName) + "\" \"" + Path.Combine( SourceDir, Mask ) + "\"" ; Parameters given to 7za are full paths for zip and xls. For some reason a couple of bytes are different A7 and A8 values for directories 2010_05_07 and 2010_05_8 respectively. • Emacs How to redefine Shift-R for expected use

    - by John Bellone
I've checked my elisp files to make sure that I do not have any bindings that contain Shift+R (and I have not found any). I expect SHIFT+R to print an uppercase character, but instead I get R R undefined inside of the Emacs command line. This is only in C/C++ major modes. Any suggestions? Update: Describing the key shows that it is undefined. How would I define it for the normal, expected use (capitalizing the letter R)?

  • Eclipse script for commit on close?

    - by Peter Nguyen
Hi, I was wondering how to create a Eclipse script (Eclipsemonkey) to commit the current project on closing of Eclipse? You can listen to commands such as "org.eclipse.ui.file.save" (on file save) etc. but what's the command for editor closing? And how can you call a commit action?

Looking for a quick way to type an enter or return key in Selenium. Unfortunately the form I'm trying to test (not my own code so I can't modify) doesn't have a submit button. When working with it manually, I just type enter or return, and just need to know how to do that with the Selenium "type" command

  • How can I generate a git diff of what's changed since the last time I pulled?

    - by Teflon Ted
I'd like to script, preferably in rake, the following actions into a single command: Get the version of my local git repository. Git pull the latest code. Git diff from the version I extracted in step #1 to what is now in my local repository. In other words, I want to get the latest code form the central repository and immediately generate a diff of what's changed since the last time I pulled.

  • Is it possible to generate a XSL-FO template from a PDF?

    - by Vihung
Given a PDF document, is it possible to generate a XSL-FO (FOP) template? Obviously, this would be a one-time thing - the generated template would just be a starting point for creating a proper template that pulls in the appropriate data. For me, the ideal tool for doing so would be a Java-based one and should be executable from the command line or through an ANT task. Failing that, it would be something that runs on Linux and MacOS X.
