• Module import error using IDLE

  I'm an absolute beginner using IDLE (Python 2.6.4) to learn the basics. I recently found a Python program that I want to run but it throws an error although the code looks fine (i.e all modules exist): from css.parse import parse data = """ em { padding: 2px; margin: 1em; border-width: medium; border-style: dashed; line-height: 2.4em; } p { color: red; font-size: 12pt } p:first-letter { color: green; font-size: 200% } p:first-line { color: blue }""" for rule in parse(data): print rule for decl in parse(data)[0]: print decl Error: ImportError: No module named parse How do I fix this?   Hello, all. I am inspecting the JSON module of python 3.1, and am currently in /Lib/json/scanner.py. At the top of the file is the following line: from _json import make_scanner as c_make_scanner There are five .py files in the module's directory: __init__ (two leading and trailing underscores, it's formatting as bold), decoder, encoder, scanner and tool. There is no file called "json". My question is: when doing the import, where exactly is "make_scanner" coming from? Yes, I am very new to Python!

• JOGL program does not compile - javac with classpath

  I want to run a HelloWorld JOGL programm on the commandline. I downloaded the .jars from jogamp.org and put the gluegen-rt.jar , jogl.all.jar , gluegen-java-src.zip , jogl-java-src.zip , gluegen-rt-natives-macosx-universal.jar , jogl-all-natives-macosx-universal.jar in a directory "jar" in my HelloWorld folder - as described in http://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Downloading_and_installing_JOGL . Now I try to compile with javac -classpath "jar/gluegen-rt.jar:jar/jogl.all.jar" HelloWorld.java as described on https://jogamp.org/wiki/index.php/Setting_up_a_JogAmp_project_in_your_favorite_IDE . Then it throws me 14 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:7: package javax.media.opengl does not exist import javax.media.opengl.GL; ^ When I try to compile with absolute paths using javac -classpath "/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/gluegen-rt.jar:/Users/jonas/Desktop/cool_jogl/helloworld/jar/jogl-all.jar" HelloWorld.java it still throws me 12 errors starting with HelloWorld.java:9: cannot find symbol symbol : class GLCanvas location: package javax.media.opengl import javax.media.opengl.GLCanvas; ^

• Problem in using svn and buildix

  Hi all I ran into a problem in using svn and buildix. I have a project created in svn as well as in cruise control which was working fine. Since yesterday whenever I commit changes into svn they are successfully commited but buildix is not able to pick up those changes, Normally I used to run 'svn update' whenever this problem occurs but now this is not helping for this project. When I try to run 'svn update', I get Skipped '.' and when I try to run 'svn cleanup', I get svn: '.' is not a working copy directory I took the advice of some one and deleted the folder .svn in my project but that did not help.   I'm having trouble reading special characters from stdin. • Parse M3U file locations to fully qualified paths

  I would like to parse the file location information in an M3U playlist into fully qualified paths. The possible formats in M3U files seem to be: c:\mydir\songs\tune.mp3 \songs\tune.mp3 ..\songs\tune.mp3 For the first example, just leave it alone. For the second add the directory that the playlist resides in so it would become c:\playlists\songs\tune.mp3 and the same for the third case so it would also become: c:\playlists\songs\tune.mp3. I'm using vb under VS2008 and I can't find a way to recognise each of the potential location formats in the M3U file. System.IO.Path offers no solution that I can find. I've searched extensively for terms like "convert relative path to absolute" but no luck. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi, I'm writing an app that calls ruby code from c. I am having a little difficulty and wondered if anyone could point me in the rite direction. I currently have in my C. #include ruby.h main() { ruby_init(); rb_require("myRubyFile"); rb_funcall(rb_module_new(), rb_intern("RubyFunction"), 0, NULL); } My ruby file is in the same directory as my c file and is called myRubyFile.rb and contains a definition of the function RubyFunction(). This is a cut down of what I actually want to do, just making it more readable for others. I just require some feedback as to whether this is the correct method to call ruby code from my c file. • Query Cache Issues - releasing cache locks?

  I have enabled query caching to use the NHibernate.Caches.Prevalence.PrevalenceCacheProvider provider. This is running on IIS 7, WCF service. I have limited rights to what I can do, but I'm getting an exception about releasing cache locks. I've created the following 2 directories in the system32/inetsrv directory and given full control to the account IIS is using. NHibernate.Cache.StandardQueryCache Some other cache dir I can think of right now This doesn't happen in my local environment so I'm thinking this is somehow related to caching. Do I need to give the IIS account full control to the inetsrv dir as well?

• Including libraries in project. Best practise.

  Hi guys, I'm writing a Python open-source app. My app uses some open source Python libraries. These libraries in turn use other open-source libraries. I intend to release my code at Sourceforge or Google Code but do I need to include the sources of the other libraries? Is this a good practice? ...or should I simply write this information into a README file informing the use about the other required libraries. I've placed all these libraries into a libs sub folder in my source directory. When checking my code into SVN, should I use something called svn:externals to link to other sources? Is there a way to dynamically update my libraries to the latest version or is this something I have to do manually when I release a new version. My sincerest apologies if my question sounds vague but I'm pretty lost in this matter and I don't know what to Google for. Thanks all.

  I'm learning Python and I have been playing around with packages. I wanted to know the best way to define classes in packages. It seems that the only way to define classes in a package is to define them in init.py of that package. Coming from Java, I'd kind of like to define individual files for my classes. Is this a recommended practice? I'd like to have my directory look somewhat like this: recursor/ __init__.py RecursionException.py RecursionResult.py Recursor.py So I could refer to my classes as "recursor.Recursor," "recursor.RecursionException," and "recursor.RecursionResult.py". Is this "do-able" or recommended in Python?

  I created a LinkedServer on MS SQL Server 2005 pointing to my Active Directory. Nothing too fancy. Simple LinkedServer with ReadOnlyAdmin Account assigned to CONNECTAS Property. Then I created some storedprocedures to retreive some data from the LinkedServer. Again nothing too fancy. Just a few simple LDAP Queries. Then I created a SQL Endpoint to expose these stored procedures as Web services. Using Visual Studio 2008, everything is fine and dandy. It finds the endpoint, gets the list of the methods available and runs smoothly. Cool. But the Sharpeoint Add Web Service somehow doesn't work! It finds the WSDL file no prob. Retrieves the list of functions and parameterss n all but just simply doesn't run them! Any advice or where I should start checking?

• getting rid of ruby gems that won't die

  I've got a few ruby gems that won't go away. I think it has to do with when I installed them. Occasionally I have forgotten to use "sudo" before doing a gem install, which results in a write error and from what I can gather puts a copy of the gem in my user directory instead of somewhere it can run. But gem uninstall doesn't work. It continually shows up in 'gem list' but can't uninstall it from either gem uninstall, or sudo gem uninstall. I tried directly deleting one gem after finding the path in my 'gem environment', but that still left the gem on the list. Also is it possible just to remove all gems and start from scratch? These are driving me nuts. I'm running OS X. Thanks,

  We are using JMX for communication between different EARs on the same Websphere application server (6.1). All works well if we only use Java types as arguments, but if we use or own the problem is that we get ClassCastExceptions on the receiver side. This is obviously a classloader problem: if the jar with the argument types is put into the JRE endorsed directory, such that all classloaders use exactly the same class, the Exception disappear. But we would much prefer to put the library that defines the argument types in the EAR itself. Now my question: is there a trick to persuade WAS to serialize and deserialize the arguments during the JMX call? I guess in this case the ClassCastException would dissappear.

  Hey, I don't know much about SEO and how web spiders work, so forgive my ignorance here. I'm creating a site (using ASP.NET-MVC) which has areas that displays information retrieved from the database. The data is unique to the user, so there's no real server-side output caching going on. However, since the data can contain things the user may not wish to have displayed from search engine results, I'd like to prevent any spiders from accessing the search results page. Are there any special actions I should take to ensure that the search result directory isn't crawled? Also, would a spider even crawl a page that's dynamically generated and would any actions preventing certain directories being search mess up my search engine rankings? edit: I should add, I'm reading up on robots.txt protocol, but it relies on co-operation from the web crawler. However, I'd also like to prevent any data-mining users who will ignore the robots.txt file. I appreciate any help!

  Hi, I checked out the trunk of my plugin from the Grails svn repo, made some changes, incremented the version number to 0.2.1, then ran release-plugin. It failed with the error shown below: Checking in plugin zip... Updating from SVN... Updated to revision 61343. Committing local, please wait... Enter a SVN commit message: Fixed bug with controller dependency version and upgraded to grails 1.2.2 Committing code. Please wait... Failed to stat working directory: svn: Commit failed (details follow): svn: Authentication required for '<https://svn.codehaus.org:443> grails-plugins primary Subversion repository' Application context shutting down... Application context shutdown. It's possible that my password is not correct, but I'm pretty sure it is. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and is there some way I can verify that the password I'm using is correct?
