  • Make NSFormatter validate NSTextFieldCell continuously

    - by harms
In Cocoa, I have an NSOutlineView where the cells are NSTextFieldCell. The cell displays values which are strings that are formatted according to certain rules (such as floats or pairs of floats with a space in between). I have made a custom NSFormatter to validate the text, and this seems to work with no problem. However, the cell (or the outline view, I'm unsure what is causing this) only seems to use the formatter at the moment my editing would end. If I type some alphabetic characters into the text field (which violates the formatting rules), these characters show up -- the only way I notice the formatter doing its job is that I'm now prevented from moving keyboard focus away from this cell. If I return the contents of the cell to a valid form, then I can move focus away. I have set both the cell and the outline view to be "continuous". It would be better if I was unable to enter text into the cell in the first place. Is it possible to make it like that, and if so, how?

  • Mindblowing jQuery Weirdness

    - by Jason
...at least to me. This code used to work fine. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed, but now all of the sudden it behaves oddly. Basically I'm trying to create inline editing functionality. When the user clicks on the link, it dynamically generates a textbox and a confirm and cancel link. I'm having problems with the cancel link not removing everything in the cell. HTML: ... <td class="bid"> <a href="javascript:" class="102093" title="Click to modify bid">$0.45</a> </td> ... Binding jQuery (in $(function())): $('.bid a').live('click', renderBidChange); .... $('.report_table .cancel').live('click', cancelUpdate); renderBidChange (this function creates the dynamic elements): function renderBidChange(){ var cpc = $(this); var value = cpc.text().replace('$', ''); var cell = cpc.parent('.bid'); cpc.hide(); var input = document.createElement('input'); $(input).attr({type:'text',class:'dynamic cpc-input'}).val(value); cell.append(input); var accept = document.createElement('a'); $(accept).addClass('accept').attr({'href':'javascript:', 'title':'Accept Changes'}).text('Accept Changes'); cell.append(accept); var cancel = document.createElement('a'); $(cancel).addClass('cancel').attr({'href':'javascript:', 'title':'Cancel Changes'}).text('Cancel Changes'); cell.append(cancel); $(input).focus(); input.select(); } cancelUpdate this function just removes everything visible (all the dynamic junk in this case) in the cell and shows what used to be there. function cancelUpdate(){ var cell = $(this).parent(); cell.find(':visible').remove(); cell.find(':hidden').show(); } However, for some reason, the cancel link remains after it is clicked! Everything else is removed except that. W T F Thanks for any insight you're able to provide! I'm sure it's just some stupid little detail I'm over[caffeinatedly]looking... UPDATE Immediately after posting this I epiphanied that it may be a CSS issue, but after double checking my code, it is not.

  • Memory problem with basic UITableView when scrolling

    - by Sheehan Alam
I have a very simple UITableView that has 3 sections, and 3 rows per section. #pragma mark - #pragma mark UITableView delegate methods - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tblView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return 3; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tblView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tblView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } // Configure the cell... return cell; } - (NSInteger)numberOfSectionsInTableView:(UITableView *)tblView { if (tblView == self.tableView) { return 3; } else { return 1; } } Everything shows up fine, but as soon as I scroll my application crashes and my debugger tells me: * -[ProfileViewController tableView:cellForRowAtIndexPath:]: message sent to deallocated instance 0x5ae61b0 I'm not exactly sure what I am doing wrong.

  • Ad-Hoc mode and Cell (how does it work)?

    - by Ori Cohen
hello, I am setting up a wireless Ad-Hoc network manually in linux using iwconfig and ifconfig. I have gotten everything working, and I think I understand it all except access point. The part that confused me is this: If I have essid='some_id', channel=11, Mode=Ad-Hoc and appropriate routing/ip on both laptops, why do I need to make sure the Cell is the same? I was under the impression that Ad-Hoc worked independently of the access point. I can easily get around this, I just use iwconfig wlan0 ap 00:00:00:00:00:01 Why is this necessary? I've been unable to find a good tutorial on this. If anyone can clear this up I'd appreciate it. Thanks

  • How can I set the line style of a specific cell in a QTableView?

    - by Bob Nelson
I am working with a QT GUI. I am implementing a simple hex edit control using a QTableView. My initial idea is to use a table with seventeen columns. Each row of the table will have 16 hex bytes and then an ASCII representation of that data in the seventeenth column. Ideally, I would like to edit/set the style of the seventeenth column to have no lines on the top and bottom of each cell to give the text a free flowing appearance. What is the best way to approach this using the QTableView?

  • iPhone: custom UITableViewCell with Interface Builder -> how to release cell objects?

    - by Stefan Klumpp
The official documentation tells me I've to do these 3 things in order to manage the my memory for "nib objects" correctly. @property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UIUserInterfaceElementClass *anOutlet; "You should then either synthesize the corresponding accessor methods, or implement them according to the declaration, and (in iPhone OS) release the corresponding variable in dealloc." - (void)viewDidUnload { self.anOutlet = nil; [super viewDidUnload]; } That makes sense for a normal view. However, how am I gonna do that for a UITableView with custom UITableViewCells loaded through a .nib-file? There the IBOutlets are in MyCustomCell.h (inherited from UITableViewCell), but that is not the place where I load the nib and apply it to the cell instances, because that happens in MyTableView.m So do I still release the IBOutlets in the dealloc of MyCustomCell.m or do I have to do something in MyTableView.m? Also MyCustomCell.m doesn't have a - (void)viewDidUnload {} where I can set my IBOutlets to nil, while my MyTableView.m does.

  • Sizing of a UITableViewCell

    - by Xetius
I have created a UITableViewCell derived class which resizes itself to display at an indentation level. I have tried setting indentationLevel and indentationWidth using the following in the ViewControllers cellForRowAtIndexPath: cell.indentationLevel = [[item objectForKey:@"indent"] intValue]; cell.indentationWidth = CELL_INDENT_SIZE; This in itself does not indent the cell, so I am using the following layoutSubviews in the UITableViewCell: -(void)layoutSubviews { CGFloat indentSize = (self.indentationLevel - 1) * self.indentationWidth; CGRect r = containerView.frame; containerView.frame = CGRectMake (r.origin.x + indentSize, r.origin.y, r.size.width - indentSize, r.size.height); DLog(@"frameRect : %f, %f, %f, %f, %f",indentSize, r.origin.x, r.origin.y, r.size.width, r.size.height); [super layoutSubviews]; } This works fine for the initial layout, but when the cell is selected, it recalculates itself from the new dimensions and effectively shrinks the cell every time it is selected. How can I resize this cell so that it doesn't keep changing the layout.

  • Why does this TableView code work?

    - by nevan
I made a typo when creating a UITableViewCell with this code: - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"CellIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [self.tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSLog(@"Creating cell"); cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewStylePlain reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; } cell.textLabel.text = @"Hello"; return cell; } The typo is in using UITableViewStylePlain instead of UITableViewCellStyleDefault. The code worked fine, creating new cells. Why?

  • UITableView - iPad - Property '' Not Found on Object of type UITableViewCell

    - by user1797508
I have added a UITableView prototype Cell into a UIView for an iPad application using StoryBoard in Xcode (targeting iOS6). The problem I'm having is that the labels are not being recognized in my viewController when I try to reference them. In my implementation, I have: - (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"dashboardMessage"; UITableViewCell *cell = [_tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; } int row = [indexPath row]; cell.messageSender.text = [_matches valueForKey:@"from"]; } The last line is causing an error: Property 'messageSender' Not Found on Object of type UITableViewCell In the cell's header file I have: @interface DashboardMessageCell : UITableViewCell @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UILabel *messageSender; @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UILabel *messageDescr; and the header file is imported into the viewController. I'm lost as to what can be causing the issue, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • DataGridView: how to focus the whole row instead of a single cell?

    - by Tomas Sedovic
I'd like to use the DataGridView control as a list with columns. Sort of like ListView in Details mode but I want to keep the DataGridView flexibility. ListView (with Details view and FullRowSelect enabled) highlights the whole line and shows the focus mark around the whole line: DataGridView (with SelectionMode = FullRowSelect) displays focus mark only around a single cell: So, does anyone know of some (ideally) easy way to make the DataGridView row selection look like the ListView one? I'm not looking for a changed behaviour of the control - I only want it to look the same. Ideally, without messing up with the methods that do the actual painting.

  • Why Can't I import a UITableViewCell subclass ? That's weird....

    - by user320064
It's like this, I created a UITableViewCell subclass called NewsItemCell, then I wanna use it in my FirstViewController.m, then I tried to import it, but the compiler keeps telling me this Below is my code, it is driving me mad, thank you if you can help. import "NewsItemCell.h" import "FirstViewController.h" @implementation FirstViewController @synthesize computers; (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"NewsItemCellIdentifier"; NewsItemcell *cell = (NewsItemcell *)[tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { NSArray *nib = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"NewsItemCell" owner:self options:nil]; for (id oneObject in nib) if ([oneObject isKindOfClass:[NewsItemcell class]]) cell = (NewsItemcell *)oneObject; } NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; NSDictionary *rowData = [self.computers objectAtIndex:row]; cell.newsTitle.text = [rowData objectForKey:@"Color"]; cell.newsDate.text = [rowData objectForKey:@"Name"]; return cell; } Jason

  • Winform datagridview selection is wrong after editing.

    - by jparram
I am using a winform datagridview. The datagridviews datasource is a binding source. The gridview is using the CellEndEdit event to update the datasource. The datasource gets updated and the follwing property is set: public List<Collection> Collections { set { this.SubjectCollectionDOBindingSource.DataSource = value; } } If I end the cell editing with the 'enter' key, all works as expected. If I end the edit by clicking another cell, the data is updated as expeceted but subsequent clicks on cell columns do not correspond with the highlighted cell: ie the highlighted cell is the previously clicked cell. What steps are considered best practice when updating a gridview so that when all is said and done it is in the desired state?

  • Adding a subview larger than cellHeight to a UITableViewCell?

    - by MathieuK
I'm trying to add a subview to a UITableViewCell and the design that I'm working from demands that this particular subview (an image) needs to be larger than the actual UITableViewCell and thus partly overlap its siblings. So I've set up my table cell, generated my image and added it to the cell's contentView: // rowHeight for the UITableView is 45.0f UIImage *image = [self createCellThumbnail: someImage]; UIImageView *thumbView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithFrame: CGRectMake(150, -5, 55,55)]; thumbView.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(0.1f); thumbView.image = image; cell.clipsToBounds = NO; cell.contentView.clipsToBounds = NO; [cell.contentView addSubview: thumbView]; While the image will 'overflow' into the cell below it, the top of the image is always clipped, as demonstrated here: http://imgur.com/WDsAx . Does anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible with the current approach or should I just figure out a way to draw these images onto the UITableView after all the cells are drawn (it's a non-scrollable tableview, so that would work and be fairly easy).

  • Saving Excel Spreadsheet using Interop C#

    - by Wesley
static void Main() { Application excelapp = new Application(); Workbook book = excelapp.Workbooks.Open(@"C:\HWYFAB.xlsx", 0, false, 5, "", "", false, XlPlatform.xlWindows , "", true, false, 0, true, false, false); Worksheet sheet = (Worksheet)book.Sheets[1]; Range cell = (Range)sheet.Cells[3, 2]; Console.WriteLine(cell.Text); cell.ClearContents(); book.Close(true, "HWYFAB.xlsx", false); excelapp.Quit(); } This program runs and exits as expected. It does print the correct value that's in cell B3 to the console. When closing it asks if I want to replace the existing file. I click yes. When I open the spreadsheet in Excel, the value is still in cell B3 despite the cell.ClearContents(). Any thoughts?

  • jqGrid: Is it possible to commit a cell change when tabbing off instead of pressing Enter?

    - by The Matt
I have a simple in-line edit in my grid, and I want to commit the change when the user tabs off the textbox. The default behavior of jqGrid forces the user to press 'Enter' to commit the change, but this is non-intuitive for our users. onSelectRow: function(id) { $(gridCoreGroups).editRow(id, true, undefined, function(response) { alert("hello world"); } } I've worked my way through the events provided, but they all happen as a result of the user pressing 'Enter', which I want to avoid. Is there something I can wire up that would trigger an action when the user tabs off this cell?

  • how to scroll table on the click event of some cell in objective c?

    - by Sarah
Hello friends, I am right now working with one application where i need to take one uitableview with uilable and textfield in each cell.I am able to scroll the table manually once the user starts writing, but what i want is that when i click on the textfield, the table should scroll upward so that the user is able to see what he has entered in the textfield.Same thing i saw once i logged in the iphone facebook. this is the code for manually scrolling the table : - (CGFloat)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView heightForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section { return 250; } -(UIView *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView viewForFooterInSection:(NSInteger)section { CGRect viewRect = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 160); UIView *footerView = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:viewRect]; return footerView; } Is there any way around? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I use a contact's photo in a table view cell?

    - by Andy
I've got an app that has a table view that displays contact information in each row. I'd like to use the contact's stored image (if there is one available) as the image on the left-hand side of the cell. I've found some sketchy sample code in Apple's documentation, but the address book references some kind of weird data type (CFDataRef) that doesn't appear to correspond to the data types referenced in the table view programming guide (mainly UIImage). This seems like a pretty basic task, but I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

  • Mathematica quickie: About making cells Input cells by default.

    - by andrz
I'm going through some lecture notes, Fundamentals of Mathematica Programming (see the .nb file there). I'd like to be able to do the exercises right there in the notebook; but for some reason I can't figure out how to make the default cell an Input cell. In other words, when I'm clicking in that notebook to create a new cell--in the exercises--the cell is by default a text cell. I'd like for it to be an Input cell so that I don't have to manually change it each time. Ideas?

  • Excel Shows "#########" when i try to write DateTime.Now.tostring() to one of the cell in Excel File

    - by user1209631
I have created a application in c# , it reads excel file and after checking some conditions, it select a row to be written in another Excel File. Everything is working fine, but i need to end the file with the DateTime.Now.ToString(). string date = DateTime.Now.ToString(); ExcelWorkSheet2.Cells[newFileRow, 1] = date; When I see the file created, it shows "########" symbol instead of actual date. When I select that cell , it changes to correct date format. What may be going wrong?

  • My table cells don't highlight immediately when touched

    - by Steve Denenberg
Hi, In my app, I have a table view that has about eight cells. There is a navigation bar at the top. When a user touches a cell, nothing happens for about 1/2 second. Then the touched cell highlights blue and immediately the new view slides into position. The problem is that there is no feedback to the user about which cell he touched until just before the new view slides into position. For example, when I explore the tables in the iPhone's Settings application, when you touch a cell, the cell immediately turns blue, and then there is a 1/2 second delay, and then you see the new view. How do I get my table's feedback of highlighting the cells to happen immediately? I am using tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:, and each cell has an accessory button. Thanks for any insight.

  • How do I use text in one cell to trigger row to be copied on another sheet in Excel?

    - by Brian Eby
I provide all of the cut lists for our cabinet manufacturing in Excel. I tally all parts for the entire job on the first worksheet in an Excel file, and then filter the rows based on the "Material" column, and manually copy/paste each row in to its own material-specific worksheet (example: I filter "Materials" column for "Maple Ply", and then copy all "Maple Ply" rows to the "Maple Ply" worksheet). Then the material specific worksheets are sent to the shop floor for cutting. This is time consuming, and if I need to change any data in the first page, I have to go and manually update the copied row in its material-specific page. Is there any way to make each material page "look" for its material, and automatically populate itself with any row that has the appropriate material in the material column (example: any time I enter "Maple Ply" in the material column of sheet one, that row is automatically copied to the "Maple Ply" worksheet)? If so, could this link be dynamic, rather than just a copy, so that if I change a cell in a particular row on sheet one, that data is also updated on the material-specific worksheet copy? Thank you, Brian

  • How can I ceil the height of a div that has "display: table-cell"?

    - by eric01
I am trying to vertically center a div inside another div, regardless of the size of both div's I am doing this: <div id='outer_div'> <div id='inner_div'></div> </div> The CSS is #outer_div { display: table-row; height: 200px; width: 200px } #inner_div { display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; height: 500px; width: 500px } I put larger dimensions for the inner div on purpose. What happens is that even if I put a width of 1000px, the width of the innerdiv is ceiled at 200px because of the outer div's width (and this is what I want) But for the height, it is not ceiled and I would like it to be ceiled to the height of the outer div. What i want is the innerdiv to remain at the same size as the outer_div, no matter what height I give to outer_div in CSS. I basically want it to be the same size as its parent. EDIT: I only put text inside those div's. So let's say I have an outer div of 200px*200px (it has display: table-row), and the inner div is defined by css as 500px*500px and it has dummy text inside. My expected result is to have the inner div shrunk down to 200px*200px. It is successfully 'shrunk' by the outer div for the width, but NOT for the height. What I want is to have it shrunk on the height as well (so the inner div ajusts automatically in case I change the height of the outer div) How do I go about that?
