  • Relative Paths, etc. on an Apache server

    I'm really stuck here. I have 2 issues at once: First, my site is stored (both on local development and on live server), in a subdirectory.. as I'm working on multiple sites. i.e. /Sites/www.mysite.com/(site files here) When I'm referring to files in my web pages, I want to refer to, say, my /images directory without hard-coding every occurrence as /www.mysite.com/images/myfile.jpg Is there a way to simply redefine how the leading "/" gets interpreted by the server? Question two, concerning PHP mod_rewrite I have this set of rewrite rules. The objective is to turn www.mysite.com/faq into www.mysite.com/index.php?page="faq" RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !mysite.com RewriteRule (.*) mysite.com/$1 RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)$ /mysite.com/index.php?site=$1 RewriteRule ^([a-zA-Z0-9_-]+)/$ /mysite.com/index.php?site=$1 I don't have a problem when a url gets passed in the 2nd-to-last format (as the example above). However, if the trailing "/" is added: www.mysite.com/faq/, my external script references break: (such as src=js/script.js)...

Properties would be the configuration element, and log section would be the configuration element collection.   • Can I prevent Flash's Input Events from stacking up when my framerate low?

    My Flash game targets 24 fps, but slows to 10 on slower machines. This is fine, except Flash decides to throttle the queue of incoming MouseEvent and KeyboardEvents, and they stack up and the Events fall behind. Way behind. It's so bad that, at 10 fps, if I spam the Mouse and Keyboard for a few seconds not much happens, then, after I stop, the game seems to play itself for the next 5 seconds as the Events trickle in. Spooky, I know. Does anyone know a way around this? I basically need to say to Flash, "I know you think we're falling behind, but throttling the input events won't help. Give them to me as soon as you get them, please."

    I'm trying to overload a "display" method as follows: template <typename T> void imShow(T* img, int ImgW, int ImgH); template <typename T1, typename T2> void imShow(T1* img1, T2* img2, int ImgW, int ImgH); I am then calling the template with unsigned char* im1 and char* im2: imShow(im1, im2, ImgW, ImgH); This compiles fine, but i get a link error "unresolved external symbol" for: imShow<unsigned char,char>(unsigned char *,char *,int,int) I don't understand what I did wrong!

The result from the autocomplete search yields a product id and a product description is concatenated with it (i.e. 2099 -- A Product). I know that I need to use split() with this but where do I put it?     I've got the latest Beta of Adobe Flash Builder 4. I want to use a <s:List> component, and specify the dataProvider as being an XML file. However, after loads of research (including looking at doc links off labs.adobe.com), I still can't figure out how to do it.   • Avoiding string copying in Lua

    Say I have a C program which wants to call a very simple Lua function with two strings (let's say two comma separated lists, returning true if the lists intersect at all, false if not). The obvious way to do this is to push them onto the stack with lua_pushstring, which works fine, however, from the doc it looks like lua_pushstring but makes a copy of the string for Lua to work with. That means that to cross over to the Lua function is going to require two string copies which I could avoid by rewriting the Lua function in C. Is there any way to arrange things so that the existing C strings could be reused on the Lua side for the sake of performance (or would the strcpy cost pale into insignificance anyway)? From my investigation so far (my first couple of hours looking seriously at Lua), lite userdata seems like the sort of thing I want, but in the form of a string.

    Trying to connect to 4D Database. PHPINFO says PDO is installed etc etc... Testing on localhost MAMP system.   • In C#, is there any way to try multiple Regexes on string to see which one matches first?

    Let's say I have an arbitrary list of regexes (IList<Regex> lst; for example). Is there any way to find out which one matches first? Of course there is the straightforward solution of trying each one on the string and seeing which match has the lowest index, but this could be inefficient on long strings. Of course I can go back and pull the strings back out of each regex (Regex.ToString()) and concatenate them all together ("(regex1)|(regex2)|(regex3)"), but I find this to be an ugly solution, especially since it does not even indicate which regex was matched.

    I have a core data model with two tables (meal and ingredients). I am trying to save ONE meal with MANY ingredients. I have the code below which loops through an array of ingredients. I'm trying to save it, but I cannot redeclare the "entity" below. How do I do it? I've tried releasing it, but that didn't work!   • Performance of VIEW vs. SQL statement

    I have a query that goes something like the following: select <field list> from <table list> where <join conditions> and <condition list> and PrimaryKey in (select PrimaryKey from <table list> where <join list> and <condition list>) and PrimaryKey not in (select PrimaryKey from <table list> where <join list> and <condition list>) The sub-select queries both have multiple sub-select queries of their own that I'm not showing so as not to clutter the statement. One of the developers on my team thinks a view would be better. I disagree in that the SQL statement uses variables passed in by the program (based on the user's login Id). Are there any hard and fast rules on when a view should be used vs. using a SQL statement? What kind of performance gain issues are there in running SQL statements on their own against regular tables vs. against views. (Note that all the joins / where conditions are against indexed columns, so that shouldn't be an issue.) EDIT for clarification...     When I serialize a list of objects with a custom __get__ method, __get__ is not called and the raw (unprocessed by custom __get__) value from __set__ is used. How does Python's json module iterate over an item? Note: if I iterate over the list before serializing, the correct value returned by __get__ is used.

  • using javascript setTimeout to see if div has loaded

    I'm loading remote data using dynamic script tags and JSON. the remote page that I'm displaying on my website has a div in it that I use to load content into. The problem is the javascript functions do not see the div as the page loads because it is remote data. if I set a timeout of about 300 it usually works and my javascipt can see the div. But sometimes it takes longer and it breaks the javascript. I'm tring this: function load_content() { if(document.getElementById('remote_div')==null) { setTimeout('load_content()', 300); } else { document.getElementById('remote_div').innerHTML = 'Content goes here' } } but it just doesn't seem to work... what is wrong with it?

  • Using web.config directory security and extensionless urls

    Hi Guys, I'd like to use the built in directory security features built into the web.config to restrict access to child pages of a parent page. My structure is as follows: Members Members/News Members/Press Members/Movies Users should be able to have access to the members parent page, but not child pages. My problem is, because I am using extensionless URLs, the web.config thinks this is a directory and so access is blocked. Is there a way to say only restrict access for sub pages?

    hi guys, I have a listview which displays (eventually) an album cover of an itunes play list with the album name under it. the problem I am having is that I cannot get the album art (currently a blank square) ABOVE the album name. It always is on the side... how do I do it?     Hi all, I have some javascript making an ajax call in my Rails site: $.ajax({type: "PUT", url: url, data: { dummy: data }, complete: function(data) {}}); When Rails gets it, it throws back an ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken Error. I'd like to keep the protect_from_forgery stuff in there, if possible... But I'm at a loss for how can I pass the auth token from a javascript file? Can anyone help me out?

    Learning how to do a master page in asp.net. Trying to figure out how my style sheet interacts with respects to the master page and content page. I can get HTML tags like body and the style sheet to react. But when I call the ID attribute of a label no styling takes place. What am I missing here as far as interaction?   • Is there unreachable code in this snippet? I don't think so, but Resharper is telling me otherwise.

    I have the following method I came across in a code review. Inside the loop Resharper is telling me that if (narrativefound == false) is incorrect becuase narrativeFound is always true. I don't think this is the case, because in order to set narrativeFound to true it has to pass the conditional string compare first, so how can it always be true? Am I missing something?   • Cocoa NSWindow not updating with data

    I have an NSWindow that shows up when you click either of two items (both from an NSTableView). I have a setter method that tells the window what information to display. This all works perfectly, until it comes time to display the data in the window. If I cause the window to display from one tableview, then try to have it display the new data from another it doesn't do it, it keeps the old data on. I am using the exact same method to get and display the data from both possible ways to have the window show up, and the data is changing correctly. To display the window I'm using [mywindow makeKeyAndOrderFront:self];
