• Find the closest locations to a given address

  I have built an application in CakePHP that lists businesses. There are about 2000 entries, and the latitude and longitude coordinates for each business is in the DB. I now am trying to tackle the search function. There will be an input box where the user can put a street address, city, or zipcode, and then I would like it to return the 11 closest businesses as found from the database. How would I go about doing this?

• Why is fulltextsearch for phrase ignored in SQL Server?

  I am executing the following SQL statement on an indexed SQL Server 2008 R2 database. SELECT * FROM mydatabase WHERE (CONTAINS(ColumnA,'"The Apple is red"')) The problem is that it returns too many entries. It also returns entries where 'ColumnA' contains only one of the words ('Apple' or 'is' or 'red'...) and not only the entries which contains the exact phrase. • What can you do in C without "std" includes? Are they part of "C," or just libraries?

  I apologize if this is a subjective or repeated question. It's sort of awkward to search for, so I wasn't sure what terms to include. What I'd like to know is what the basic foundation tools/functions are in C when you don't include standard libraries like stdio and stdlib. What could I do if there's no printf(), fopen(), etc? Also, are those libraries technically part of the "C" language, or are they just very useful and effectively essential libraries?

  I have a list: list<Unit *> UnitCollection; containing Unit objects, which has an accessor like: bool Unit::isUnit(string uCode) { if(this->unitCode == uCode) return true; else return false; } How do I search my UnitCollection list by uCode and return the corresponding element (preferably it's index). I have looked at the find() method, but i'm not sure you can pass a boolean method in instead of a searched item parameter if that makes sense.

I need to search each file for five different keywords and output five files prepended with the specific keyword and then the original logfile name.
