  • What is your most useful C/C++ snippet?

    - by maddizzyro
Hello all, It seems that every project has an "util" module with various code snippets used throughout other files and which don't fit any particular pattern. I want to improve my "util" library, so please post here the most useful class / function / macro that you use in all your C/C++ projects. Please keep the entries small (under 100 lines) and give only one example per post. Thank you.

  • UITableView with sectionIndexTitle bugs on rotation

    - by Toto
Hi everyone, I have a UITableView with a sectionIndexTitles, and when I do a rotation, some cells are displayed like if I were on the previous orientation. When I don't have sectionIndexTitles, there is no problem. Is it just a bug in a library, or is there a secret tip I don't know to fix it ? Tank you

  • Including a C header which declares a variable called "new"?

    - by StackedCrooked
I'm trying to use the OpenCA library in a C++ application. However, when including the file pki_x509_data_st.h the following code fragment is encountered: typedef struct pki_x509_callbacks_st { /* ---------------- Memory Management -------------------- */ void * (*new) (void ); void (*free) (void *x ); void * (*dup) (void *x ); This won't compile because of the "new" pointer declaration. How can I make it work?

  • Is there a sorted_vector class, which supports insert() etc.?

    - by Frank
Often, it is more efficient to use a sorted std::vector instead of a std::set. Does anyone know a library class sorted_vector, which basically has a similar interface to std::set, but inserts elements into the sorted vector (so that there are no duplicates), uses binary search to find elements, etc.? I know it's not hard to write, but probably better not to waste time and use an existing implementation anyway.

  • How To Read C# Code From Java Background

    - by ChloeRadshaw
I come from a Java background and have been using C# for the last year - So far the API docs I use are at MSDN (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms132397.aspx). I tend to use the lightweight C# docs. What annoys me about that is that I don't see one page with details of the class, a list of members, a list of methods and properties like I would with a Java API definition. Is this possible?

  • This is a valid C code but not a valid C++ code?

    - by claws
In some library I'm using (written in C) its StorePGM(image, width, height, filename) char *image; int width, height; char *filename; { // something something } All functions are defined this way. I never seen such function definitions in my life. They seem to be valid to MSVC but when I compile it as C++ it gives errors. What is it? some kind of old version C?

  • Java TokenField like Cocoa's?

    - by ShadesJeff
Does anyone know of an existing Java component that implements a TokenField, similar to Cocoa's NSTokenField? An overview of the Cocoa control is at: http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/TokenField%5FGuide/Introduction/Introduction.html Suggestions for implementation? Thanks!

  • compiling Boost linked libraries (Ubuntu)

    - by Adam Greenhall
I installed Boost via sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev on the most recent version of Ubuntu. Now I want to compile a project that uses the Boost.Serialization library, which needs to be linked. I've tried many variants of the following, without success: gcc -I /usr/lib code.cpp -o compiled /usr/lib/libboost_serialization.a and gcc -I /usr/lib code.cpp -o compiled -l libboost_serialization The error message is: error: ‘split_member’ is not a member of ‘boost::serialization ` What am I missing?

  • Computing e^(-j) in C..

    - by Erkan H
I need to compute imaginary exponential in C. As far as I know, there is no complex number library in C. It is possible to get e^x with exp(x) of math.h, but how can I compute the value of e^(-j), where j = sqrt(-1)?

  • [C++] Converting Integer to a Byte Representation

    - by bobber205
How can I convert a integer to it's byte representation. I want to take an integer and return a vector that has contains 1's and 0's of the integers byte representation. I'm having a heck of a time trying to do this myself so I'd thought I would ask to see if there was a built in library function that could help. Thanks!
